WOW! Mabuhay.. remembering WWII... my father Walter Guangco Cebedo, 1st Lieutenant, USAFFE, led the Combat Co.105th Inf. Regt,108th Div.,10th MD(Grla), in the attack against the Japanese outpost in Tubod, Lanao del Norte. During the exchange of fire, my father exhibiting courage and bravery, left his post to check personally the fire of each of his men. When he returned to his position, he was hit a shrapnel fragments on his back when a mortal shell from the enemy outpost exploded, in spite of his wound, he refused to quit on the field of battle. He was telling us before... due to shortage of weapons and ammunitions, it's hard to fight the Japanese army in Mindanao. The Japanese soldiers landed several coast in Lanao, and to our hometown Lala. They even stayed at the farmhouse of my grandparents, as what my mother told me. Hope you can also share "istorya" of your father during WWII.

Hangga't maari sana hindi sumasama ang mga AFP Reservist at PCG Auxilliary sa parada. Kahit kailan hindi talaga sila sabay sabay magmartsa, hindi maayos mag uniporme at may malalaki ang tiyan. Pati sa PNP, may mga nagmamartsa na parang namamasyal lang.

Mahirap bigyan ng baril ang mga prisoners at baka gamitin sa pagtakas. Dapat turuan gamitin sila sa mga infrastrucure projects para magkaroon din sila ng pagkaka-kitaan at ng experience para magamit sakaling makalaya sila. Isa pa kapag naging mandatory na ang ROTC sa lahat ng paaralan sa buong bansa ay masasanay ng gumamit ng baril ang mga Pilipino at dadami ang magiging reserved sa military.
