@@wareaglewelly there is rarely a sure fire bet at any position, but someone to push Thorne beyond that garbage he presented last season is not a stretch. We are talking a qb competing with another qb who couldn’t throw cover 100 yards in 6 games, and performed like hot garbage against New Mexico St at home. If a current qb on Auburn roster transfers, it should be a sure fire bet Freeze will pursue a portal qb. Taking one senior, a redshirt freshman, and a true freshman into the season would almost guarantee disaster.

I'm extremely worried about Freeze and the portal. He doesn't seem to want to throw money bags at people. Unless you can develop 3 stars or low rated 4 stars, you have to throw money bags these days. He said himself on on3 the other day that he struggles with the portal as it is right now. Its just going to be worse as we go forward.
I believe all coaches, if they’re being honest, don’t understand the portal. It’s a money grab with no rules or regulations. I know that Freeze is committed to talent acquisition and will do whatever he needs to do to keep up with the other teams.

Probably not, if so, probably minimally but you can definitely tell they love this shxt. Off the rip, these guys know way more about offensive and defensive formations, schemes, personnel, packages, recruiting than most people do (this includes former players too). I can respect that.
