Another great video. What is interesting is that the 10 reasons you mentioned made me love my M11-P even more. I love to challenge myself. The limitations make me go outside my comfort zone. There is nothing more rewarding than taking a good shot using a manual focus camera and lens.
Same for me, my Leica has made photography fun again and I also like being challenged when working to create art.
I hate that I love the M11. I probably should have gotten the P though for the storage and non-label.
You bought a crazy expensive manual focus photography camera and your big issues are:
1. It is crazy expensive and you dont want to break it
2. It is manual focus
3. It doesn’t take video
What am I missing here? Buy a coolpix, you’ll be very happy!
its not just manual focus, its Rangefinder. Most of people diggin in Leica M system because its only Rangefinder system still produced. back in the late 90s and early 2000s there were lots of good alternatives companies make good alternatives but now Leica is almost only camera manufacturer still make this kind of camera. Well there are Pixii but they are hard to get on market and make APS-C only.
@@eek0212 I more just wanted to highlight that all of the issues presented in the video should have been known to the person purchasing it. It's sort of like complaining that your Ferrari can't fit a kids seat and has no room for groceries.
When I pick up my camera every day my thoughts are, what art can I create today? Change your mindset off dollars you paid for a tool to what you can create with such a tool. The experience will be that much more rewarding where there will be no doubt that you have the right tool you feel you deserve.

All valid reasons… I love my Leica M bodies. They make me want to get out and shoot and become better. I have a Nikon z6 and a canon 5D mark II. I enjoy the Leica because it’s a challenge… but the 5D colors are amazing!
Maybe interesting to know is that the Leica board memberswere not outright Nazi's as the board of Mercedes were. Your video was excellent and I did not know about the start up time which is a dealbreaker. Maybe Leica is better as a film camera, less expensive and so on. Another thing to hate, is that there are no better/more expensive camears once you have a Leica. A big advantage is that you can resell them easily to another person. Lately I have been shooting with a Nikon D300s with a 18-70 zoom lens. I bought this set as new for 400 dollars in box etc. It's better made than the Leica by honest people in Thailand and does not have all the disadvantages with the exception of the wheight. The Nikon 50mm f 2.0 AI costs around 60 dollars and is sharper than the summicron as tested by another Leica guru on you tube.
Perhaps you can change the title to 10 thing’s “to know” about the M11P. You’re making it sound like you didn’t do any research before plopping 9K on this camera body. Listen, I’m one within the subject of your controversial conversation about Black photographers and Leica. I’m Black, I’ve had Canon, Fujifilm, still own Nikon D850 and when I bought my M10-R I “knew” it didn’t have video… I’d already heard the startup time for the M11 was slow, and lenses were expensive, and there was NO autofocus, and that the M10-R had a sexy smooth shutter button and the M11’s louder😊 there are videos out there already talking about all of this. I like your content, just a little disappointing to hear you act like you didn’t do your homework.
I'd have to agree with you on this one. I went into a good many Leica Stores, even while traveling abroad, and played with the m11 before buying my m11P (also watched a ton of videos) so I knew just about everything I need to know before putting down an insane about of money to get mine. I love the weight though, it feels solid and fits my hand like a glove and is a joy to go out shooting with, as opposed to my a7rv with a 35mm GM which is a bit of a beast when compared to the m11P.
Lens cost is insane as well, but as someone on RUclips pointed out, figure out what your favorite range is and buy a Leica lens for that range, for other ranges look at buying Voigtlander or Zeiss which are also excellent, just different. I have a Voigtlander 28mm and 50mm, but I'll be getting a Leica 35mm Summicron or Summilux since this is my most used range and how I see the world.
my hate about M11(P, M, and maybe future D)
1. They change the metering mechanism, Now default metering mode working with sensor like when we turn on the LivewView Mode since model M240. That will give you advantage on backlight situation but generally make images more plain like modern mirrorless camera. and if you used to M metering for two decades you should change it. and becuase of this turning on M took more time than its precedesor.
2. It keep freezing with leica fotos app and even they keep releasing some 'hot patch' firmares it seems not fixed it all. and they will gonna release M11-D😆which gonna almost mandatory to use leica fotos app due to its lacks of screen.
You dropped how much on a Leica M body? Then complained about no autofocus or video capability? This channel is parody at this point.
no offense but didnt you know any of that before you spent so much money? if you wanted a Leica with those features SL would have been a better choice for you. this camera is def not for you and was never aimed for photographers like you. I dont understand. but all this things you "hate" about M rangefinders are the reasons that I love them actually. I think you didnt do enough research perhaps. anyway, thank you very much

Of coure it is a bit heavy. This is not made cheap in plastic or cheap mince aluminium.

As I recall you were singing the praises of Leica not that long ago.
I can shoot faster and perfect focus than any automatic focus lenses on the market. You have to learn and practice.
