Well - no one needs to hear 2 and 6 - and there are only bits of 4 that are good. But certainly the rest - and 5's a masterpiece going under everyone's radar.
@@davbig74 I think in a culture where classical music has been marginalized - and sometimes for good reason - we need to be real careful in what we recommend. Let's discern only the very best - after putting stuff to a hard test. 2 is for fans only. The general public can't stomach dated corn in even trace amounts. They got a lot of musical options out there. If classical music is to compete - its got to bring it's A game - every time. 5 is an A. 2 is a C. And that C stands for corny. Judge this stuff HARD! Don't go easy like a fanboy. : D
@@SelectCircle I agree with you that when it comes to advising, we need to be objective. And, believe me, I do not give easy and wide-ranging judgments. In fact, I'm not saying no. 2 is the top. But, right out there, where people have a choice, I see a lot of CDs of absolutely insignificant works. Many of Havergal Brian's symphonies for example ... so why not produce a complete set of Rosenberg's? At least these are solid works and with captivating melodies, even considering the weaker outputs of him!
@@davbig74 Well then - bravo! And I like how you're open to discussion. With fanboys - it's all breathless adulation - and then forbidding any dissent! Actually the one I'd like to see get the complete box set treatment is Cipriani Potter. His worst stuff verges on good - and his best stuff verges on great! So let's have all of his! But personally I'd be a little more selective with Rosenberg. I think his worst stuff should be buried - for the good of the genre as a whole in this hyper-competitive musical world.
... ein reifes Werk der modernen Symphonik, das ins internationale Repertoire aufgenommen zu werden verdient, durch das Schwedische RSO unter Stig Westerberg sehr kompetent realisiert. Dank fürs Posting.
My great grandmother's cousin 😊
Thank you for posting! We all need a CD release of Rosenberg complete symphonies! They're so good works and earn more visibility!

@@SelectCircle, no. 2 is not vad at all for me. I especially like the solemn epilogue, which reminds me of an adventure movie!
