Great video. Nicely done. I replaced mine a couple years ago with a cheap China one. It lasted until now…I think. I’m not getting fuel out of the pump. Dry like yours. So I ordered another cheap China one and it didn’t make a difference. Changed the electrical connection too. Still no fuel. The relay is fairly new and looks good at the pins. The fuses are all good. Maybe another pump??? BTW… that brass adapter on top will get stuck / corroded in the aluminum thread of the Chinese pumps. They are hard to find and expensive! I found one online and it was $35 for that fitting.
You could try to prime the pump, make sure the filter is full of fuel. If its the first time your starting it for the season, it can take a while for fuel to get to the pump. I've read so many bad reviews about cheap pumps, and don't have time to mess with it, so I got a genuine Volvo one. All the time spent fixing the boat is time away from the water.
Good video man I'm almost positive that's what I need my boat it's a 5.0 omc. Four winns n it it's bone dry on top like your was pretty sure pump is bad .
We replaced the relay. The hoses were dry. We replaced the fuel pump with a cheap one and still nothing. Is there anything else I should look at prior to buying the expensive pump?
We got it started after putting fuel on the fuel filter. It is running quite rough but that may be due to old fuel. It hasn’t ran for several years. Im going to check the filter at the carburetor and add see foam.
Yes, priming the filter is what I would recommend. Sounds like you got it! Sea foam will help, Marvel Mystery oil is good stuff too. Gas might be ok, you can keep topping it off to help dilute the bad gas. Be sure to check the plugs too.
Excellent and timely. Thanks for posting
Glad it was helpful!
