Could you have just an anderson plug in the boot connected striaght to the main car battery(with a fuse?) to charge on the go?
So youd start the car then plug the second battery in
and unplug before plugging anything onto the second battery when stopped?

      Hi there,
That is in essence how the set up functions as the DCDC would allow for equalising the two batteries safely, as we would always recommend batteries in parallel and series match in design and capacity if connected directly.

Work out how many watts your fridge uses when running. Let's say it's 40 watts. Divide that by 12 volts = 3.3 amp hours. So every hour you use 3.3 amps from your battery. So watts divided by volts = amp hours used from your battery.
