I have had the TS348XD for about 3 years now and now has around 120 hours on it. The unit has the kohler 7000 series engine. I keep it serviced with OEM fluids and filters and mow a couple acres a week with it.

I just found your channel, subscribed! I was looking for some help with my 130202 B+S 5hp that I'm rebuilding/restoring, pretty amazed you're still going strong after 13 years ago!

Both of them are well cared for except the gt tractor has been cutting in some dirt and at least both of them were bought at Husqvarna mower dealer ship 👍😎

Unfortunately, the 348 gets rode hard and put away wet. I have to replace one of the cast iron spindles. Thanks for watching!

      I bought a TS354D, back in ‘20.
It’s been great, but the only problem with it has been that it kinda eats headlight bulbs….especially when I tried LEDs.
Mine has the Kohler 7,000, and is either a 24 or 25 HP engine, I forget which.
It was the engine I wanted, and it’s been great.
It also has the locking rear-end, but not the gauges like the lesser models he showed.
      Husqvarna is weird like that.
I think the gauges should get standard on all, but that’s just me.

A lot depends on how well it's taken care of. Kawasaki is a good engine but has problems with bent push rods (in my experience). I haven't had any trouble with the Kohler 7000 series. However, hop on over to www.mytractorforum.com and browse around for answers. Thanks for watching.

I’ve had great luck with the Kohler 7,000.

Besides the seat and transaxle difference I’d consider the automatic locking differential on the 248 it’s really only major drawback between the two if you are strictly mowing with it it is definitely a better value per dollar.
But they should of gotten the 348 with the 730 Kawasaki instead of the kohler though, and because of the that if I had to choose between just these two, I’d take the cheaper 248 just because of the Kawasaki engine, it would make up for hassle of the automatic locking differential.
Definitely glad I got my 348 while it was still possible to get one for less than four or five grand though. 👍

I bought my TS354D, partly because it had the Kohler 7,000.
They’re a good engine, and has never had an issue.
I love the locking rear end.

Some people have posted about frame breaking and transmission tearing loose. Also complaints of scapling the lawn. Any experiences with these problems anyone? Looks like $3653 for the 248 locally. Those kind of problems make me want to keep looking. Tractor Supply lists the 248 as available on their website.

Same thing happened to mine , the rear metal is far to light .I welded a heavier piece of metal on it and it shouldn't happen again. You can get a new frame for around 100 dollars , but made the
same way. My 1972 is made a lot heavier and has never cracked so far.

    • @patrickflohe7427
      @patrickflohe7427 26 дней назад

I haven’t had any trouble, but that frame is just stamped steel.
My old John Deere tractors from the 70s and 80s are far tougher….thick, iron frames.
