I have found a 7" mole grip very useful for working on compression joints in confined spaces , over 70 year olds will feel the most benefit as at this age shaky hands are common . Cheers Eddie
Dan I’m new to your channel. Just bought a house and the water tank is leaking at the L shape joint leading to the water tank itself (Mains Pipe) but it’s covered in like a cement paste. Is there a way to remove that stuff or would you cut out the pipe and replace it? If so can you use flexi if it comes in that thickness? Cheers.
Hi there, it depends on what is used I would always replace in any circumstance also I wouldn't use flexes as it's not permitted. Rigid pipework on installation! Thanks 👌🏻
Bahco 9029's 9031's and a set of 4" 8069's for anything upto 13mm. I seldom change taps but when I do, I use a set of crows feet ratchet spanners. Also excellent for boiler installs. A split ring spanner I got from toolstation too. It was soo good I brought another. Finally knipex cobra's 180mm, 250 mm, 300mm 350mm and 400's plus a dedicated pump spanner. The knipex 180 & 250's are my go to water pump pliers. For the such smaller slip wrenches they adjust out way more then any other brands. With the 10" 250 you can easily work on domestic gas meters. For commercial it's the 12" 300's. The bahco 8" adjustable wide jaws are a must for any plumber. I've got a standard set the reversible jaw and the thin jaw. A must for any heating engineer. The made in Sweden Bahco's 👌. My stillsons come out the van very little. Since I invested in the knipex and they've taken some beating too. Great stuff Daniel, it's always nice to see what other heating engineers use. Tbf you don't need anything fancy. It's much better to have tools which make your life easier.
Thanks ghost that's great! You know I have never tried knipex, I have come across them a few times but never given them a chance so you have given me something new to try 👌🏻👌🏻 exactly what I want. I agree to be honest I use the 6' stilson quite often I just find it easier to manipulate than most, as for the bahco they goes without saying really hahaha! Thanks ghost
@@PlumbingGy The knipex Cobra's with the press and lock adjustment. I wouldn't purchase the alligator ones again. The best one's all round would be the 250 and 300 size. They're so versatile. Especially for water pump valves and gas meter unions. Also for holding iso's in place. I brought my first set of 250's and I never looked back, well worth it.
I will definitely look into them mate, normally grip wise I'm just crescent always have been had the odd Irwin and Stanley set but they have failed me 😂
Totally agree I have included some pump grips in the description for links and they will follow in another tools video. Just tried to focus on spanners this time around, thanks ratch appreciate your comment
Which Spanner\Wrench is your favourite..? Why..?

Bacho all the way to the bank dandy man. I had a draper spanner that actually lasted years but it was always a back up, brilliant vid as always😜😘

Thanks Dan. Appreciated.
10" bahco without a doubt worth every penny.
The bar you're referring to for the box spanner is called a "Tommy Bar" 👍
Hahaha thanks starly to be honest I'm not sure where my 'tommy bar' is. Might have to resort to a nail 😬😬😂
@@PlumbingGy 🤣 it's the exact opposite for me got tommy bars coming out of my ears. Just had to buy a whole new set of box spanners lol
🤣🤣🤣 honestly I swear guys Rob them on site off me all the time need to lock my tools up more I think
@@PlumbingGy lol, could always chain them to yourself. But then run the risk of looking like the rear end of a "just married" car 🤣
Hahaha nothing new there mate
Thank you Dan. It's hard enough getting a plumber out in the first place. Thanks though for the tips.
Haha tell me about it, we are so busy this time of year it's always the same.
Thanks for the comment
