- As a casual rider my bicycle needs are pretty simple: easy to use, low maintenance, and high quality. I’m not racing or going off road, mostly sticking to the rail trails near my house to get some exercise with the family. The Priority 600 has truly blown me away.

Reviews of clothing, boots, and accessories for men, along with style advice and life philosophy. I've been working with my hands for my entire life as a mechanic, tow truck driver, and eventually a licensed electrician. Being a blue collar guy, I look for certain elements in a product: is it durable? Is it high-quality? Will it perform well over its service life? Whether boots, pants, jackets, or tools I believe it's best to buy once and cry once by getting the best you can afford. With so many options these days, choosing the best product can become a difficult decision, but that's where I come in. Helping you stay stylish, rugged, and handsome.
I don't care where it's made as long as it's made well, and allows you to buy less and buy better. - Хобби
Again you found something I never heard of and in under 10 minutes I want it.
Priority is legit. Bought the ace from them and it came with one broken brake cable clamp. They don’t sell those and they sent me a pack for free. Well after warranty, I cracked my handlebar (my fault). I emailed them to ask if they’d sell me the ace handlebar and they sent me one fee. It was slightly used but they told me that before hand. I’m just gonna keep buying bikes from them. Got my eye on the 600x.
Wow, this is important for me.
AWESOME! I bought one during the Covid pandemic too and I am loving it!
If you do want a bit of suspension check out the Redshift seatpost and stem. I added them to my Ritchey and I love it...Just enough to smooth out the bumps in the road and gravel.
I have a three speed Priority Gotham...it’s all most folks need. $550
Ha! I wasn't expecting a Portland reference. Awesome.
As a former mountain bike racer and someone who owns 4 bikes I can say that you found a really nice one! Don't worry about the pants, I wear my Carhartts when I commute to work 😁
i bought mine on sale from the website for 1800. and it was cheaper than any other bike with the same components. i bike to work (8 miles round trip). for me, i love it. i take it off road all the time, go with my 8 year old through the forest on his "let's do this" whims. the hub can be stupid loud when not pedalling, but in the end it is a great bike.
Also, having the gearbox in the middle of the bike means that it can (and does) have a quick-release on the rear axle, and there is no derailleur to push out of the way, so you can easily detach both wheels to put it in the back of a car. And since it has a belt drive instead of a chain, you don't get greasy when doing this.
Your eye for quality shows; this is an excellent bike! I pay my rent fixing bikes (barely😂)
I got into cycling 7 years ago, at 30. I find as I get older it’s become a main hobby of mine. Trail mountain bike riding is great fun with guys your age.
Great video sir.
Thank you kindly
Love the video, as I digging my Priority Apollo Gravel Bike. Priority is an excellent small company with great customer service...
Good job buddy!
Didn't know this brand. Thanks for the hint! Reserved but very cool design! :-)
I've never owned a bike close to that price, but I can attest that the cheap ones from Walmart or whevere will be more or less usless within a year or so
Beat Saber VR on the Occulus Quest is AMaZING and a fun cardiovascular workout.
Very nice! 😃
Man people buy cheap helmets and bikes all the time. They show up at a race or mountain, and they get confident. Then the equipment fails helmet included and you end up with an ambulance that charges $1000 vs $100 for an uber. X-rays, mri, pet scans, hospital rooms. I’ve been on both sides.
This is what I am getting myself!
A year and many miles later I love this bike!!!
So funny how much debate there is about the value for a bike. For a car, people easily spend 80 to 100k (paying for useless features and extras and with an instant depreciation of 25% value when your car leaves the dealer), but a bike for more than 600 USD is considered expensive... While a good bike can add so much to driving pleasure (and also for many years). In The Netherlands, people easily pay 2000 to 3000 EUR for a bike: That is considered as normal when biking is your hobby or if you use it daily for work.
Hi Carl, I found your channel yesterday and I love it! But I had a question. Can you make a video about 6 inch Timberland boots and why I should or shouldn't buy them? This will help me allot. Love from the Netherlands and take care
I love my 600. Feels great to ride and it has more gearing than I need! Only trouble is that I'm not comfortable with locking it up outside a store while I get groceries. It kinda stands out too much. So now I'm looking at the Priority Gotham... 😅
Bought me a ebike. Love it. Nice bike.
I ride with Carhartts too, but I tuck them into my socks. Yes, I get lots of evil stares, but I don't feel odd sitting in a coffee shop (pre covid) with fancy bike clothes when I am not a bona-fide cyclist. My watch cap does not fit under my helmet though.
Hey, I have a unicycle and I don't live in Portland... :-(
Holy shit, just checked the price. Damn this is cheap for what you got! Really good choice. I think there is not anything like it in this price range here in Europe.
I agree! It's a bargain based solely on the feature set.
I haven't found anything like it for the price from any country!
Hey Carl, thanks for the review. Just bought the Classic Gotham edition from Priority. I too have kids and wanted to tow a bike trailer. Was anything special needed to hook it up to the bike. Don’t want to mess up an expensive bike. Lol. Thanks in advance.
Not much! the kit came with a new axle and bracket. Literally the installation took all of 10 minutes. My little one really loves riding along and usually falls asleep within half an hour.
Awesome bike. That'll give you many years of hassle free riding. On the expensive side but for people who are committed to regular riding, it's definitely worth spending the extra money and getting a quality bike.
I've been looking at this and also the Priority Continuum Onyx, did you consider that one also? I like them both but don't know if I need something that top shelf....
Carl, would love to hear an update on these as your family has grown.
Any interest in the Priority Ace to be even simpler with a Single Speed or Fixed Gear?
what a beautiful bike...but im guessing more than half of you're subs can't buy a 3k bicycle..i'll stick to my specialized comp.. great video as always
Looks like you chose the perfect bike for your needs; for now. I am 44 and a couple years ago I rediscovered MTB, I started just like you, with a bike that fit my needs and soon found out that a little off road and some smooth dirt trails
That l needed a bike that was more capable as my skills were growing. MTB can be very addictive in the very best way; however you have seen what bike these days cost. I suggest that you ask at local bike shops about demo days. This is where a bike brand allows you to demo new bikes for free, these are the full suspension trail bikes of the future. Glad to see some bikes on this channel I will watch even more closely. From one Carl to another stay awesome!
I just purchased this bike, now your review appears on my RUclips algorithm lol.
Hahaha well if its any help, the bike is still going strong with no issues many miles later!
@@CarlMurawski Lol Thank you. It's been so far, so good on my end. 🤗
Looks like you made the right decision.
I certainly think so!
Can you please do a video on belts?
Check out Ryan Van Duzer’s channel. He has a couple Priority bikes-Rode one on the Continental Divide Mountain Bike Route this year.
Me... I ride a modern 3 speed around town (disk brakes, 700x45 tires) and on some of the rail trails. I’ve got long distance touring bikes for the 2+ month bicycle trips (e.g., FL to NY a couple times, CO to WA, Erie Canalway, etc.). Have a couple mountain bikes too. I’ve ridden in the Rockies, Everglades back country, FL Keys, Catskills, etc. and found you need a good selection of bikes at the ready! No more road racing stuff for me though... the Reynolds 531 frames, Campagnolo components and tubular tires were really nice but limited me to the roads... got my first mountain bike in ‘82!
I got the 600 first............. then the Apollo.... you would like the Apollo... skinner tires and goes faster eaiser. The Apollo.... is also.. dead silent !
At a cadence of 90, what is the speed on the highest gear and lowest gear?
Show us the mustang!
Makes some vids about the mustang
What watch are you wearing?
Priority bikes have my attention.
I put a little 2 stroke engine kit on one of my sons mountain bikes, Its a blast.
Doubt my wife would’ve let me hook it up to the toddler trailer though.😝 (whatever those things are called)
Pro tip: Make sure your brakes work!
Hey Carl, any plans on a biking outfit video. I'm planning on biking to work in the winter up here in Ottawa. The salt is sure to destroy whatever I wear. Any suggestions?
A car.
I would get some pogies for the handlebars, studded snow tires, winter hiking socks, and a neck gaiter. For your face, I would either get a full-face motorcycle helmet and a Fog Thief inverted snorkel to force the air out of the bottom of the helmet so that the visor doesn't fog up, or I would get a ski helmet and ski goggles. And obviously, all the usual waterproof, warm, layered clothing rules still apply. Good luck out there!
What denim Sherpa jackets would you guys recommend
Check Carl’s last video
@@discgolfboy9 beat me to it
@@discgolfboy9 that's not 900 dollars
This bike is so cheap for all the features it has ! Compared to Cannondale badboy 1. The bad boy 1 is almost twice the price, less mount points, no space for rack, unless you buy p clamps or Thule rack
Do you ride this regularly?
I have been, yes.
For the price you could buy a cruzbike.
If you Look for Bikes for Kids try WOOM its an austrians company and has great childrens bikes.
OMG.. is that the Titanic Theme Music?
i heard a lot of good things about this bike..
Nearrrrr farrrr…… wherever you are!!!
@@CarlMurawski Priority is on the East Coast.. I am not even able to test them out here in Denver.. I should contact them about that..
You said you're in your 30s yet you talk about your life as if you're nearer my age ( 51 ). Trust me you're still a young man. You should still play whatever game you played on the weekend if you enjoy it. I stopped playing rugby league at 43 because I wasn't enjoying it anymore. I'm glad I didn't stop playing in my 30s.
You'll not regret buying your bike. You may go through phases of not riding it for a while but you'll go back to it. I thought £500 was a lot ( it was to me ) when I bought my mtb in 2006. 14 years later its still used and now seems like an utter bargain.
You’r right about the different phases of not riding your bike. I started out in my 20s on an old road bike, went to motorcycles, motocross bikes, sport bikes, a couple dual sports. Im 56 and will always ride motorcycles but I just started riding my cannondale mountain bike I bought in the mid 90s again. Something really peaceful about going for a bike ride down a quiet country road.
@@loumanning9474 absolutely agree. I always think to myself when I’m riding, why don’t I do this more often. It’s great exercise while being mentally relaxing.
BIKE COMPANYS ARE FINALLY GETTING THE MESSAGE. DITCH THE OLD CHAIN DRIVE. NOBODY WANTS THAT ANYMORE..IFGIVEN THE CHOICE. NOW, HOWABOUT ADDING FRONT SUSPENSION, UPRIGHT FLAT BARS
I’ve heard of priority before, it’s a descent company, but Marin or Canyon are still my preferred bike companies because of their quality. I still think you should’ve gone with a bigger brand so you know what you’re paying for. Safe travels on your bike my friend👍
In bmx we don't have thoes we just have the basics
Maybe an option under $2K? 😂😂😂
Only wanted a $1,600 bike wow
$2,500 now
$2,300 you could of picked up the Specialized Fuse 27.5 for $1,500 plus you can go off road and super durable.
I think that the person who does not like the bicycle ! if you do not know the good of life.
Do a review on Ben Davis
im 330lbs, do you think this bike will be able to support my fat ass?
I think so man.
@@CarlMurawski is that a confident or a sketchy i think so man?
30’s…lol. Just getting started, shit is easy in your 30’s.
When I see a grown man riding a bicycle I assume he’s on at least his second DUI.
LOL! I often think the same.
Only if they are riding in the morning around before 7am and then again at around 4-5pm
i am leaving youtube for rumble. See you there.
