This tutorial series was great. I've been watching a few synthesia videos just to get to know how synthesizers work and understand them better. But most of the good ones that discuss the basics were recorded in and around the 1970s. However, you really managed to get down to the basics, but still in the context of modern synthesizers, thanks!
Dear Mr Owner of the channel, i really want to thank you, few months ago i enter into a course of logic which was highly expensive and boring , being realistic i have learned more from you in two or three videos than what i learned in that course.
Josh, I have a work-around solution to the “bug” that is in 10.0.7 that prevents automation to be drawn from the various on-screen controls in ES2 - the bug discussed in Episode 49 at time ~3:20, and also at the end. On my MIDI controller, I have faders assigned to the X-Y pad, one for X and one for Y. If I use these faders instead of my mouse to change the X and Y positions, the positions are entered correctly and visibly into the Automation track in the Tracks window when Latch is enabled, and the automation does play back correctly afterward. Try it! I believe this is part of a larger problem with ES2 in 10.0.7. I am not able to map any functions (e.g., Cut, Volume) to my MIDI controller by the Learn function when I follow the standard procedure: click on the function on the screen in Editor mode and then move the fader or knob on my controller. This is the only 10.0.7 plug-in of any kind where the Learn procedure doesn’t work. Instead, for ES2 I have to use the Controls view (found in the “View” menu top right of screen). When I click on the function in Controls view and move my fader/knob. it gets correctly assigned/Learned. It seems the common theme here is that 10.0.7 does not appropriately take screen commands when using the mouse. The mouse can certainly move the dials and sliders in the Editor (graphics display) view, but that signal does not seem to be transmitted elsewhere. At least not for me. Hope this is informative. This tutorial series is absolutely outstanding. Thank you so much. You often apologize that you’re only giving an overview. No apology needed - it is this overview that allows us to delve deeper into the various functions of Logic Pro - without your help we just couldn’t do it. Thanks again (keep them coming!).
Thanks for sharing! I did notice that in the Controls view it did work, even wight he mouse. So, like you said, there might be a serious problem with the ES2's GUI in 10.0.7. hopefully it's fixed in the next version!
Thanks so much for this amazing, amazing series of Logic Pro X tutorials. The package is enormous and your information is so helpful! It has saved us hours of hard slog. Cheers Mate from Glenn & Dave.
Thank you for great videos!! I want to do a filter cut off frequency sweep on every down stroke on the keyboard, so every time i hit any key on the keyboard no matter the rhythm, it triggers a fast sweep, is there any way to route this in the ES2? for now I have been implementing this by track automation but thats very inefficient and time consuming though.. Thank you for your time!!
Thanks for the video, or course - but also thanks for making this video loud, so I can turn it up loud, if needed. Not everyone knows how to make videos that are loud enough - but that is right up your wheelhouse, I guess.
Im very curious, how do you keep/manage your projects, files, and samples between your laptop and computer? Do you have the exact same setup on both with the same plugins?
Musictechhelpguy Question how did you yourself learn about all these things? It literally sounds like you created these synthesizers and the whole logic program for that matter!
Hi there, I am wondering if there is a way to use Logic in a similar way as modules? to get the rhythmic sounds used in electronic and or industrial music. Thank you for these excellent tutorials.
You're doing great man, but fuck this is complicated lol. I've been making beats for years but never really dived into sound design. Massive is even more scary to me :/
Create a software Instrument track, then on the channel strip for that track, there's a tab that says "Instrument" click on it and you'll see it in the list.
Joshua, could you please help me on a simple sound that I can't duplicate through ES2. The sound I am trying to recreate is this organ sound synth throughout this track here: ruclips.net/video/Lr04yiivdC8/видео.html I have created a couple basic sine waves and detuned them wide before adding a mono spring reverb, but I'm still not figuring out what else I'm missing. Thank you so much!
The series was incredibly helpful. I learnt some irreplaceable gems here.. Thank you.

Best channel to learn logic!! Thank you for your time!!

Juan Rios Same story I have 😏 Joshua does an amazing job. I supported him on Patreon for a year and I think I will do it again.
The ES2 was kind of scary in the previous videos. But after this session, it all make sense. Thank You!!
Well said. Was the same experience for me. Very educational

Very very good Josh, thank you
Amazing as always, thank you!
Great tutorial series. Subbed.
very nice tutorial. helped a lot!
All your tutorials are great. I'm looking for a tutorial on the glide function in ES2. Any videos that cover it?

It's interesting how MacBook's charge lowered down during video from 60% to 22%. There were weak batteries in 2014.

Hai...where Do I See the Complete Video Tutorial For ES2 That U've mentioned..
thank you
Why does my LPX plugins look terrible whenever I put them over 100% but yours doesnt??

Does Amp not affect the sine wave? I only hear the oscillators change.
How do i open the darn thing? o_0 I cant find the ES2.
