    This breakdown is the best I've ever seen but how do you know when you have gotten from brand new to developing artist. Like how many average number of streams or play or social media followers qualifies you to step up your budget plans

    • @BandBuilderAcademy
      @BandBuilderAcademy  2 года назад

      There are no hard fast rules or definitions and the amounts I set out were meant as a guide for average self-releasing musicians. But roughly speaking....Brand new - 0 to 2,500 streams on music services. 0 to 500 social media followers. But if an artist has more money and wants to step up their budget right from the beginning, go for it. thanks for the question! Todd

    I just discovered your channel and am already gaining great value from it.
    I do have a question. What would you consider to be a brand new artist, developing artist, and established?
    I'm asking in terms of social media followers, RUclips subscribers, Spotify followers, music sales, and the like.
    Doesn't have to be specific but I'm just wanting to get a general idea.
    Thanks so much for what you do.

    • @BandBuilderAcademy
      @BandBuilderAcademy  2 года назад

      No problem Ivvas.
      Brand New - released 0 to 3 songs and just getting started.
      Developing Artist - perhaps 2,500 to 100,000 total followers/subscribers
      Established Artist - beyond 100,000 total followers/subscribers

    Todd I have a question regarding the RUclips ads. Should we edit the strongest part of the music video into a 30 second ad? Or 60 secs? Rather than just linking to the FULL music video?
    Should we include any text overlay IN the video? Like a call to action? "Check out BAND NAME's new music video for 'Song Name'. Or just let the video do the talking??

    • @BandBuilderAcademy
      @BandBuilderAcademy  2 года назад +1

      Good question. No, I prefer to use the full music video. With TrueView ads, you only pay if they watch beyond :30 sec. (which is awesome). You can bet if they watch :30 seconds they are most likely interested and want more. I don't see a disadvantage (cost wise) when using longer videos to advertise. As long as the video isn't boring or repetitive. I do recommend developing artists use the band name and song name in the very beginning of the video so you are making visual impressions with your ads. When you remarket they will begin to see your name over and over. (a key principle of advertising). Also make sure you don't start your video with lots of silence or a slow buildup. Catch their attention and brand your name in the first 5 seconds. You can use cards for call to actions, and link a playlist at the end screen.
