I love how DEADLY, simple, yet deep the monsters and what they can do are. I can easly homebrew any kind of dragon by tweaking their abilities, HP, armor, elements, stat affecters etc. If D&D wont officialy give us orange, purple and yellow chromatics, I can darn well do it myself in this other fantasy setting😁
i mean, in all fairness.. we've made tangerine dragons (their breath weapon smelled sweet but was acid based damage) as well as other exotic dragons in d&d.. but yes, Dragonbane makes it super easy to adjust difficulty, and what's better.. it scales with the character's abilities in a much more fair way.
love the art, was one of the main reasons for me to buy both the rulebook and the bestiary, awesome part of my growing collection... now to get the box set so i can have the advernture book and the big map...whoohooo
@@gamemasters I highly recommend the Solo campaign, heck you can playtest your own adventures by soloing. And I say it again, Free League is top notch regarding Solo and co-op aspects of their games. Be it Dragonbane, Forbidden Lands, Symboraum? And even Væsen. All thanks to randomness. Might be to open and vague some solo rules, butctweak it a bit and it gets more grounded
100%. I go over what armor can do in tomorrow's video, Combat : ruclips.net/video/0to_-64Uv20/видео.html In essence, armor helps to mitigate damage; for example, if you are attacking with a knife, it does 1d8 damage. Your target is an orc wearing studded leather that has an armor rating of 2. Assume you rolled a 5 for your damage, you'd subtract the 2 from the armor rating and you would be doing 3 points of damage (possibly more if you have any damage bonus). (PC's also benefit from armor rating)
@@gamemasters awesome - I’ve been looking for more systems that don’t roll to hit and use armor for DR - just rolling damage is more appealing to me than just rolling to hit when playing in a system that wants to streamline combat
well.... it appears to be.. but again.. the game promotes roleplaying. Not every monster needs to be slain.. and you can use terrain to your advantage. More on all of that when I cover combat. :)

If you can’t avoid damage, what motivates PCs to wear armor? Damage Reduction?
