It would be really awesome how the term Noga came into being?
That could be found through buranjis or someone who knows history ahom and nogas.
The word naga is an exploited British term of the word Noga.
And the real and first nogas were the tangsa, noctes and wanchos of arunachal who were coined as nogas by the ahoms.
The naga - ahoms relationship mostly happened with the people of tlc in arunachal and with the konyak and aos of nagaland to some extent.
Our people really had very good relationships with ahoms hence we spoke assamese and had relationship and made trade with each other.
I hope the ahoms don't forget their roots because it was similar to the hilly people of patkais. The singohos(kachin) , khamtis(shans)and noga(arunachal/Eastern nagaland) people had shared similarities geographically and through many ties.
The present assam is so different than in our ancestors times. I hope there would be good relations with our ahom brothers and sisters.

According to Nocte people of Namsang, Deomali, Arunachal. Tipam is located at present forest area between Joypur and Deomali. Remnants of road built by Gadadhar Singha known as “Gor Ali” is also there near that area. Chowpha Lowang (king) of Namsang had some relations with the Ahoms kings they say. It’ll need a whole lot of research

Ancient Assam was known as Pragjyotisha in early times and as Kamarupa in later times. The earliest mention of the city of Pragjyotisha is found in the Ramayana and Mahabharata. The earliest known king of ancient Assam was Mahiranga Danava. He had his capital at Mairanka, identified with a hill called Mairang Parvat near Guwahati. According to the Purana,
Narakasura, founded a new dynasty known as Bhouma or Varaha dynasty. He was brought up by Janaka, the king of Videha or North Bihar. That dynasty was followed by the Bengali Dev dynasty. In the historical record, the Kamrup Kingdom was established by King Pushya Varman in the middle of 4th century A.D. King Bhuti Varman conquered parts of Bengal and donated lands to more than 200 Brahmans in the modern day Assam's Karimganj district and Bangladesh.
These Brahmanas were mainly brought from West Bengal and to some extent from Maithila. Pressent day Bengalis of Assam's Barak Valley, North Tripura and Bangladesh's Sylhet are their descendants. The kings of Kamrup Kingdom were under King Shashank of Bengal and later under Harsha Bardhan (c.725-50 A.D).
Later Kamrup was occupied by the Pala kings of Bengal. After the fall of Bengali Pala dynasty in Bengal, Vaidya Dev, the governor of Kamrup declared himself an independent king. The last king of Dev dynasty and that of Kamrup Kingdom was Vishwasundar Dev alias Prithu Dev.
Prithu Dev defeated Bakhtiyar Khilji in the first Muslim invasion, also defeated Ghiyasuddin Khilji during the second Muslim invasion, but he was killed during the third Muslim invasion Nasiruddin.
The Ahoms originally hailed from Mong Mao, China. In the year 1228 the Ahoms invaded Assam and established the Ahom Kingdom which is also called the Assam Kingdom. The name of their king was Chang Lung Chu Fa Ka, a very Chinese name.
Thus, Borphukan was not our Hero. He was a Chinese hero. He had defeated the Rajputs, not the Mughals.
