~ What do you think of Echoes of Wisdom?
I'm in love with it! So creative and fresh. Can't wait to get my hands on it
so good finally a zelda game for us girls
Now Zelda games aren't boys only /jk
in all seriousness it is cute, has a wonderful gimmick, and i love how big the world seems to be. now i wonder if it is going to be semi-open world or if progress is going to be tracked via the voids that appeared around Hyrule
I think watching people trying to figure-out where this game sits on _The Timeline_ is going to be almost as entertaining as the game itself. Oh, and the Echoes of Wisdom Zelda (and possibly Ganon) Amiibo. The Zelda Amiibo would look great next to the Link's Awakening Amiibo as Link in both titles use the same design, and of the few Ganondorf Amiibos we have none are in his demon form. This Ganon would be _just_ the right size for an Amiibo.
It will only be a matter of time before so-called Zelda fanboys will start crying that this is NOT a ''traditional'' Zelda game because you are not playing as Link nor using a sword for combat. And of course, they will also try to place this game in the NON-EXISTENT Zelda ''timeline''. Otherwise I myself am very much looking forward to playing it - especially if they also release a new Zelda amiibo - matching the Link's Awakening Link amiibo.
@@ChaoticHoly THERE IS NO TIMELINE !!!!
I love that they didn't just make a 'regular' Zelda game and just swapped Link out for Zelda.
But seem to have made it more puzzle/mechanic focused to really seperate them and make it different from a game where you play as Link.
Yes! i love that it looks to be more puzzle focused it really works so well for zeldas character
I find it interesting that the Tri Rod is mapped to the right arrow, implying the other arrows will do something as well. I feel like there's stuff they're not showing us yet.
Since we play as Zelda, we gotta get the bow of light. Or maybe the bow of twilight if the spiral pattern on links sword hints towards the twili
During some of the sections that are almost certainly gameplay due to how the shadows operate and just how it looks, UI elements are hidden. The specific part where they are hidden starts in that section where she's running and it's showing lots of smaller snippets of gameplay. I am SO confident that we'll get stuff mapped to other arrows.
The triangles on the echo icon correlate to the triangles floating behind Tri. If you look, every time Zelda uses an echo a triangle from Tri is used up and floats above the echo. The Bokoblin uses 2 triangles instead of 1.
Realised this while editing and slowing down the clips. It’s a really nice little detail and makes the power feel more like a magic meter from past games
@@SuperZeldaGirlDid you also spot the bottom bed flashing right before it leaves frame in the Gerudo desert? My bet is that that's the time limit running out (the effect is very similar to the stasis one in botw) - i'm hoping theres some physics involved, like the stack will fall eventually, but I could see it going either way.
Also this is a absolute reach but I'm gonna guess that the resource is called 'wisdom', just by how the announcer said it.
edit: Oh and you can see the cost of items in the spawn menu too!
@@PuppetSquidI noticed that as well. So basically you have to build a staircase everytime you return to the same area eventually everything you create disappears in probably seconds. I wonder if there are upgrades to make items stronger and last longer. Also can Zelda break the item on her own to speed up the process?
So I assume the triangle returns to tri once the item breaks and you earn a higher max amount maybe the more dungeons you beat. I only seen 4 at max so far.
Edit: yea I saw the meat disappear and the triangle returned to Tri. Very neat
Zelda gives the cutest “Hyup!” when she jumps. It sounds like she’ll have her own set of cries like Link.
Yes so cute
The most likely reason they chose this artstyle and game engine is because they likely were able to reuse lots of assets and were able to take less of a risk in making such a drastic change for a zelda game.
It’s also possible that the opposite was true. That they made the remake of Link’s Awakening as “practice” for this new game. Nintendo seem to do this often these days, having studios make a remake / HD port as practice for a new game.
@elfteiroh ooh that's an interesting possibility as well. Playing it safe to see how the artstyle is accepted to avoid the wind waker situation at launch.
his sword, cape, and bow are more reminiscent to me of Zonai/Twili/Gods design style
The three triangles for the Redead are likely just the cost of making the echo, as it has a unique effect on enemies and can also attack. Though, it will be neat if you can upgrade the power of the echoes.
You notice the Gerudo have smaller and maybe even round ears?
Also, as you can see in the video, the triangles trail behind Tri goes into making the echo. You lose a triangle for making an echo of a table. The two triangles above the moblin indicates the cost of triangles. It makes sense that it would cost more to make an echo of a living creature than it would to make an echo of an inanimate object.
They're pointy ears. They're just not as long/stick out as wide as other characters.
If you look at 16:24 you see the triangles from the Tri Fairy going to the fish Zelda summoned.
So maybe the amount you can summon depends on how many triangles the Fairy has, which is probably upgradeable.
yes! as i was editing the video i saw this an realised the triangles over the items and monsters in the top right are like a price for summoning them. wish i saw sooner so i could include i haha oh well
Zelda turns smoothly in this, compared to how Link turns in Link's Awakening where he turns by pointing in the 8 controller directions.
I had completely forgot about that in the links awakening remake! Thanks for pointing that out!
Yea I'm happy they got rid of the snappy turns
Link is back to being left-handed, just like in every game except for Breath of the Wild, Tears of the Kingdom, Age of Calamity, Skyward Sword, the Wii version of Twilight Princess, and Ocarina of Time Master Quest 3D.
We miss left handed link 😢
I get so sick of hearing Japanese game designers moaning about how right-handed players would find it SO hard to adjust to seeing Link using his left hand while they're using their right.
Friend, I'm left-handed and I've been looking at right-handed playable characters all my life. Even having to use my non-dominant hand as my “sword arm” in Skyward Sword wasn't THAT big a deal.
Breath of the Wild doesn't even use a Wii remote. Quit your whining and just let Link be a little different - it's a feature!
No wonder they say it sucks to be LGBTQ+ living in Japan, if they can't even manage to give lefties a break....
@@Radien yup 😢
I’m calling it now - that wind-up octorock? … That’s a clocktorock. 🐙
Perfect!
I love that little detail where the two guards stare at Zelda as she leaves Hyrule Castle. It makes me wonder if they recognize her but aren’t going to stop her from leaving.
no spirit tracks escape this time
The square spirals on links sword and cape are very similar to those of the twili and zonai so maybe we will have references to them or even a new shadow realm culture
Yeah I thought of twilight princess seeing the cape
How many games are called Legend of Zelda? Now we finally get to play as Zelda ❤
They should've called this one: The Myth of Link: Echoes of Wisdom. 😂
We waited so long for this day!
Oracle of ages(and oracle of seasons linked game where one Zora from Labrynna is trying to find a new domain in Holodrum by the orders of King Zora) is the first time the two zoras are present in the same game. Spirit tracks referenced Zora through an item called the Ruto crown and one enemy resembles the Zora that have often been a Zelda enemy.
The design of Ganondorf's weapon seems to be based on the shadow nightmare Ganondorf demon beast form from Link’s awakening. Ganondorf uses moves similar to Yuga-Ganondorf's thrust and Dead-man's volley attacks.
In A link to the past, A link between worlds and Four swords adventures Death mountain's name is a bit confusing in the original Japanese text as the name Hebra is sometimes used. In BOTW and TOTK Death mountain and Hebra mountain became seperate mountains which also appears to be the case here. Interestingly in TOTK there is lava in the depths beneath Hebra mountain.
My theory is that up until the scene where she meets Tri the fairy, Zelda is free until she ends up locked away in a dungeon in Hyrule Castle, perhaps she was captured by Ganondorf's minions during her initial exploration of Hyrule after meeting the two guards, will be very interesting to see how her adventure plays out, it's cool to see that Zelda herself is a playable character rather her needing to be rescued from Ganondorf's clutches by link, i actually really like the direction Nintendo chose for this game, the game mechanics look cool too, can't wait to play this when it is released, I'm definitely going to put this on pre order asap.
Watching this I get so much nostalgia for Phantom Hourglass
Feel the same it really gives the vibe of a DS of GBA Zelda to me
4:02 The only other Ganon with a double headed trident in the series I’m aware of is Nightmare from Link’s Awakening. Does this suggest that this takes place just before LA?
It might be just to save effort/cost, since they're using same engine it's probably simpler to recolor an existing model than make a new one
We have had both Zora species in Oracle of Ages! I believe the OoT ones are Ocean Zora and the old school ones are River Zora
if you pay attention closely, you can see clearly that the number of Triforce pieces above each echo in the menu is its “cost”, and that exact amount of force pieces is deducted from the floating pieces above Tri when that echo is summoned.
This game to me is Nintendo saying hey we did all the modern open world stuff with Zelda but this is the real Zelda right here. All the classic stuff we know and they continue to make gold out of it. I’m getting this game day one and I cannot wait to have a “real” Zelda game to play again
I just noticed something, when Zelda is putting the meat down to tempt the birds, the UI shows the meat is equipped for Y. However, it skips, and doesn't show it switching to the plant enemy for Y. They were hiding something, either an additional ability, or items in her list that they didn't want you to see
I hope Lore wise it is as good as a Link Between Worlds. The gameplay is very intriguing; very sandbox-like, I wonder if Zelda can swing the staff to attack enemies and whether she will wear different outfits.
The game we all wanted, but feared would never be made.
Perhaps the bow and sword are the silver arrows and silver sword respectively? I know we haven't seen either in aaaaaaaages, but it's a possibility that they are being used here as a replacement for the Master Sword and Light Arrows.
This direct was awesome. Also glad to see you making videos on here again.
thank you ive really missed posting
@@SuperZeldaGirl You're welcome. ^^
And looking forward to what you post next video wise.
Zelda looks like she's trapped in the cell when she meets Tri, which I find interesting, who locked her in there?
Also thinking that Tri is some sort of ancient technology/robot given the look of its right eye and overall design. Compared to other fairies in the series, Tri has a very otherwordly vibe and doesn't look like something that would be native to Hyrule like Tatl or Navi-it looks like either technology or perhaps some kind of alien or angelic being.
The old man is definitely a Sheikah-the Sheikah, especially in BotW and TotK have been associated with Japanese aesthetics and tradition. Some examples in this house are on the left wall of his house there is Japanese text carved into or painted onto planks of wood, on the back wall there are daikon radishes hung up which are a quintessential vegetable in Japanese cuisine, the iron nabe/pot hung from the ceiling and in a raised/lowered pit and the wooden lid on the pot in the left corner called a kamabuta* are also iconic in Japanese tradition and make it extremely likely that this house is associated with the Sheikah.
Look like it takes place in the same Hyrule as link to the past or link between worlds
Yes! I’m very excited to be in this Hyrule again!
You mentioning the OoT style of Princess Zelda has me hoping for a Sheik transformation
The map showcased during the huge panning shot is very close to ALTTP. Gamexplain covers this in one of their videos. Assuming this small ALTTP-like map still covers majority of the actual map, we probably won't have a ton of redundancy like we saw in BOTW and TOTK (especially in TOTK).
I didn't expect any Zelda content in 2024. Then this Trailer dropped and the 35 years old guy I am suddenly became 9 yo again hyping to finally play with Zelda.
It’s so lovely hearing about everyone’s joy and excitement for this game! I can’t wait to play it
It is disappointing seeing so many Zelda fans saying how we're getting a TLOZ game where we finally get to play as Princess Zelda, pretending like The Wand of Gamelon doesn't exist 😂
we have reasons to forget that game haha
Have you heard the voice actors in Wand of Gamelon? I've heard better voice acting from kindergartners!
Begone heathen! How dare ye speak the cursed words!
You have blasphemed and will be punished.
fake fans am I right
Great work on this one SZG! You got this done FAST.
Regarding dungeon items like you pointed out with the bomb-enemy-echo, hear me out.
What if instead of finding items in dungeons, we fight a midboss who has a utility similar to items- like the bombs you pointed out here. And then after defeating them we add them to our list of echoes, working essentially as dungeon items while still fitting into this new mechanic, AND working in keep item-based progression like classic games? Thoughts?
this is pretty much exactly what i want! Also thank you ^_^
15:35 The triangles look more as the cost to summon each object/mob. Tri (the fairy) has a series of triangles trailing her. Every cast seems to reduce the number of segments. Tables/beds/blocks of water have a cost of one, Moblins/SKultulas have two, Peahat has 3.
My bad, reading further into the comment section, others pointed this out already, and you responded in turn a the same conclusion ^^; Leaving the comment to combat the RUclips algorithm!
I realised this while editing the video I feel it works better this this makes it more like the magic from the past and means we can’t spam it
@@OurHeroXero haha it’s fine
Randomly saw your reaction under suggestions. I’m so excited.
Finally playing as Zelda and I’ve played since the beginning
thanks for checking out my content :D
Very excited. Just wanted to point out that the triangles behind tri appear to be used when you summon echoes. So later in the game when tri has 4 it's because you've upgraded your summon limit. The number of ticks above each echo is likely the number of triangles required per summon of that type. Seems like a reasonably balanced system.
Better than the near-infinite zonai devices we can store and summon. Also, the batteries last for a much longer period of time than any of the summons here. So, there were no limits to bound us which made us take the easy route always.
I feel like the cape was there specifically to call back to Breath of the Wild and Tears if the Kingdom, but also to give something for Link to pull off so the trailer could go "GREEN TUNIC'S BACK, BABY!"
Also, Zelda wearing the cape later makes me hopeful that we'll get different outfits for her. Maybe she'll get her own tunic?
I feel like Tri might be in a similar position as Fi or Girahim in Skyword Sword, the living spirit inside a weapon used by a user of the Triforce
im thinking the same thing
Everyone bringing up wand of Gamalon meanwhile im thinking about when we got to control zelda in spirit tracks >_>
Based upon the design of the title picture, the location of where they have Link above the Tri-rod makes me think that later in the game Zelda can create an echo of Link, that would be interesting if they do that.
Sorry for another post, but I was thinking. This Echo Ability for Zelda, its power seems like one that could've easily fallen into the hands of a main Hyrule villain. In a way, one could become a bit like Cia in Hyrule Warriors, that way. This is definitely a "glad somebody with a good heart got it' kind of moment.
27:11 pointing out the triangles on tri’s head that had three the first time we seen them and then had four later in the trailer. There is only one at this timestamp and three over the redead. I believe that will be what limits how many echos we use. The triangles over the item button will be how much triangles they consume
I think the guards are mind controlled so she's wearing the hood to keep her hidden
Creativity at its best. No rules just play and create
What I'd love to See is when we Start the Echos of Wisdom is if we play as Link in the Prologue go threw the Dungeon and Fight Ganon as Link That would be so cool
I could see this being after Spirit Tracks considering you kind of play as her in that timeline
Would be nice to have a new game in that timeline
This eases my worries, because the triangles aren't how many you can set. It's a cost and you can see Zelda taking triangles from the "fairy". So using 1000 beds to solve every problem probably won't be viable.
If this take place in the cell shaded timeline, isn't that the only one where Zelda has always been a heroine? Doesn't she only become Sheik in that timeline? Then you have Tetra and ghost Zelda. That's kind of funny if that's the official "Zelda actually does things" timeline.
I wonder if there's more behind the word _Echo_ that we've been missing. Maybe they're just Easter eggs...but we have a very Ocarina Zelda design...we have newer Zora designs as well of those from ALTTP. Link has a very not Master Sword. Blue cloak reminiscent of BotW/TotK. When Zelda is overlooking Hyrule, it does resemble ALTTP...but Link had pink hair...but Link didn't in the trailer... What if the echoes also refer to iconic characters/items within the franchise...but out of time/different time line? They're an echo of themself from another time?
This is actually something I thought about a little myself. Maybe some people and things from other places fell through the portals that opened
@@SuperZeldaGirl Tom Holland Spiderman/Doctor Strange's spell affecting all the fandoms >.>
15:56 nope, the amount of triangles is how much it costs to summon the item or monster.
The sword design looks like the cape design to me.
9:50
So Tri has 3 triangles here and we know that they get a 4th triangle later in the trailer so I am thinking that you can increase the number of triangles up to 12, why 12?
In Loz 1 you had to collect all the parts of the triforce that zelda broke apart and I think there were 12 triforce part/pieces.
Theory: why is Zelda in a jail cell in the beginning of the game?
I'm thinking (no prof just an idea) that the guards find her after she escapes Gannons Dungeon and upon returning to hyrule castle we discover another zelda (echo? Imposter sent by gannon? Hilda from lowrule?) Who says to imprison this imposter and that's where you will meet Tri and after escaping you will be chased by the huge wall of darkness, might be a good reason Zelda is hiding her face from the guards by wearing the cloak.
I think the person in the beginning is zelda with a sword. Then, when they do show links, you see his blond hair and green tunic . They really hide a lot in the beginning.
ooh interesting idea
the sword links has in the trailer is the same design as the sword in the fuse symbol in ToTK
Ooh that’s cool
Wow
Thanks 🙏🏽 for in depth look!!
93 days to go!!
Pre ordered Amazon
Colin 😂❤
no problem! i look forward to talking about this game more
Thanks to the Zelda community too
From things I’ve watched it’s implied the game is set in the downfall Timeline so that could be a hint to her wardrobe
It is downfall timeline alright. Gamexplain related this map with ALTTP map - they match significantly.
It would be groundbreaking if in this game Link actually spoke.
I honestly hope there is no voice acting for this game and they stick to the classic yells and sounds
I want to see Gorons in this art style.
Same!
12:15 The many TRIangles TRI has, the many echoes you can use.
Every time you echoed something, a triangle desapears from Tri head and appears in The echoed thing.
16:00 The double triangles in the monster echoe must means the cost to echoe that monster. I.e. a table cost o e triangle from TRI and the moblin must cost two triangles.
18:00 The many TRIangles on TRi head must be the upgrade you get through out the game.
It almost seems like this is going to be an alternate timeline of A Link To The Past where after Link defeats Ganon he instead gets captured in the dark realm and then Zelda has to save him. That’s why there’s so much similarities to A Link To The Past. That’s my take on some of this crap.
I’m very excited for this game!
With Zelda as the main protagonist, this is the best time to bring back Book of Mudora, Cane of Somaria, Cane of Byrna, Cane of Pacci, -Wand of Gamelon,- various other rods and various instruments (especially Harp of Ages - seriously, this thing can play "Tune of Echoes" - this tune could be how we get to hyrule from the void, for example). I better not see some sword based or bow based combat even in this game - I don't even want to see Bow of Light make a return as we have seen that enough. I want Nintendo to really hone in on the "wisdom" aspect of the game. I want some in-game readable hylian or hyrulean inscriptions as well instead of some scribbling. I want to see the alphabets directly.
The triangles in the circle is the cost to recreate it
you can switch wepons in this game using the arrow buttons which is shown in trailer.
I really hope we get a new version of the Gerudo Valley tune from Ocarina. It's been absent for so so long :(
Omg yes! I was sad it wasn’t reworked in some way in BOTW and TOTK
I need for Zelda to go full OP Goddess mode at the end and give us Goddess Reborn Zelda!
Super powered princess
I'm so excited to play as Zelda. Hyped ❤
So I actually do think Link has the master sword in this trailer for a few reasons.
Him having the hylian shield without the master sword usually doesn't happen.
The energy spin attack.
The fact that he's fighting Gannon tells me it has to be the master sword.
And also we see the Great Deku Tree later one with an empty pedestal, it's possible we'll be able to track the sword like in ToTk to find Link!
Link is left handed again
as he should ^^
i hope this is a sequel to link's awakening or the oracle games cause if that's the case that means any old game could potentially get a sequel
does look to be the same hyrule as ALTTP and ALBW
I think a game like this was bound to happen at one point. There has been a lot of focus on the title character especially in the Era of Wilds duology. So naturally giving her her own game was probably the next ideal step. Oh but Wand of Gamelon and Zelda's Adventure exist. No we don't speak of those. Those weren't Zelda games. They were just cheap cash grabs by Phillips in an effort to save their dying console so they made cheap shovelware in order to profit off the Zelda name. Echoes of Wisdom is Zelda's first true game.
I think the cape is more of a design to disguise her and make her look like link. I hope we don’t have to use it throughout the whole gameplay.
yeah i hope we get to a point where she doesnt use it or we even have the ability to take it off in the menu
Part of me wishes Nintendo would just make a new traditional Zelda with mega dungeons, new and classic items, keys, and interconnected puzzle design. Instead, we’re getting beds and tables instead of a hookshot. I really hope Nintendo doesn’t step away from the original formula too much. There's nothing wrong with it; the original formula is still very strong and has a lot of potential.
that original formula wont go away if its not in this game im sure it will come back in a bigger game.
@@SuperZeldaGirl I just hope there will be interconnected, single-solution puzzles, not the open solution puzzles where you can skip everything if you're "clever" enough, like in Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom. And I also hope we get massive dungeons with plenty of keys and puzzles to complete. I just want to get lost in a nicely themed dungeon and be stuck for hours, please! :P
Hope Echoes has an Amoebo
So the tri rod is on the Dpad right side... are there going to be other items assignable to the other 3 Dpad directions? I do wonder.
Zelda had clearly been framed or blamed for what's going on, and the soldiers seized her and put her in the dungeon, and she escaped with tri and hides her face with the hoodie.
They couldnt make this a 3D game because modders would be disrespectful
Can’t wait to play toon Zelda in smash.
oh she better be in the next smash bros. i want to throw a table at bowser XD
87 days to go
Great analysis
!!!!
Thank you ☺️
@SuperZeldaGirl I just noticed are those dots and slashes Morse code in the video? In the beginning temple scene with link
...and where have YOU been young lady??
Side quests
aaaaa I'm so excited! :)
Echoes of Wisdom : Zelda, focus on puzzle solving and use of the environment...
Echoes of Courage: Link, focus on combat and more traditional...
Echoes of Power: Ganon, more war sim, resource management...
Just saying...
U think Zelda will get a master rod or master wand
maybe
i prefer the eyes in A Link between Worlds, much more expressive for obvious reasons
We have fish making out to the death! We have fish with ears! Zelda can copy stuff! Hmmm. Not terribly excited about the retro game look. I do miss the original puzzles though and let's face reality here folks, the shrines of light in totk are boring. Half of them are complete copouts called "blessings". I'll take a wait and see position on this one.
I love how Aonuma is holding so much onto his promise of keeping to the mantra of surprise and amaze. The Zelda team really aren't afraid to change things up. While to some it seems risky, but one way or another, they are pushing the series to keep innovating. I love how he isn't satisfied on having all 2D (or 3D) Zelda games play the same, and wants to add new directions of basic Zelda play. With the state of many AAA games, these days (with budgets and directives to only follow the formula or market trends), having the ability to take risks in game design is always a great position to have.
The flecks on Tri's head are the limit.
Every time she spawns something they decrease.
The flecks on the echoes are the cost.
Looking forward to this Zelda game.
while i was editing i made this connection :D
This is it! The triangles are basically a discrete version of a magic bar that you use to create echoes. It's exciting to think that later in the game there will likely be echoes that cost 4+ triangles that will basically act like unlockable items from traditional games, since you can only summon them after progressing parts/enough of the game.
Nice spot. I even see where each of the echoed objects have one of the triangle flecks on top of them, so you see where the flecks go.
It's all really cool, and i'm really hyped... but i kinda hope they didn't get too crazy with the "Freedom" aspect of it... when i hear them say "Solve puzzles however you want" it scares me, because i really won't feel clever if i can brute force my way through every dungeon by stacking the same crate everywhere and that was one of TotK's biggest problem.
Good point
zelda seems like as a big of a menace as link is
As she should it’s her kingdom haha
I can't wait for September! 😭
Same!
I'm stoked for this. gotta get that awakening before
Awakening is great!
Is that not the link to the past/link between worlds Zelda design that smash uses
It’s closer the the oot look, the hair is the same is well.
@@SuperZeldaGirlok
As a slightly perverted kind of guy, I was hoping maybe there would be some references to the lesser known of the Philips CD-i trilogy, Zelda's Adventure. That would've been really nice
The only thing that I liked about Link’s Awakening was the story. I didn’t care for the art style, the dungeons gave me a headache, and the overworld was annoying to navigate around. However, the abilities in Echos of Wisdom actually look really interesting and it seems like they have incorporated some Tears of the Kingdom aspects like building and re creating certain items to help you navigate the overworld. I can’t wait!
Funny every time I’m tempted to get a game like Zelda I think to myself there’s already a LOZ why would I not just play the real McCoy😂
18:50 I believe the blue haired guy is LOYAL SAGE from ALttP as a younger man.
my wallet is ready. I actually havent finished Links awakening... the time has come
its a great game have fun!
