I felt akshay kumar and varun dhawan were irrelevant and distracting for me atleast… story was going in a flow and then they came.. apart from it the last song 🫡after the aayi nahi song WAS NOT NEEDED.. although story line, dialogues and jump scares were 10/10 ❤
Shraddha Kapoor owes a big thank you to Maddock since they turned her career meaningful by great storyline and using her right.... because to be quite frank, it's the character that worked.... Shraddha's performance is average...the plot and storyline is the take away....and people forget the performance of Aparshakti is the one that stole the show be it Stree 1, Stree 2 or Bhediya
Stree 2’s gigantic opening at the box office that too against the clash with two so called a listers shows that the era of superstardom is gone. It is all about substance, creativity and right talent combined with entertainment only which can pull audience in large numbers. In Stree shraddha Kapoor is the only A list actress, everyone else are just actors not stars, still it is taking such humongous opening of 50+ crore is freaking insane. 🔥 🔥
So true one could never imagine a non-superstar film demolishing an Akshay Kumar and John Abraham led film in a clash on Independence day. Both the stars had made that opening day their stronghold. Bollywood box office has really changed post pandemic, there is no superstar that can guarantee a great opening just on their name anymore. SRK, Salman and Ranbir are only three people to an extent who can still ensure a double digit opening at the bare minimum. Rest no one has that position anymore. Post-pandemic only few handful of films will work in a theatre. Maybe 10 at max in a year... but all of them will be blockbusters or ATBB. These are either very high content films or anticipated franchise films and 1 or 2 exceptions out of nowhere. Rest of the movies will be outright rejected by audiences irrespective of who the superstar is in the movie, won't even recover its cost. Gone are the pre pandemic days of 2 or 3 low mid budget movies going past 100cr every month. That era is now over with OTT. These movies either release directly on OTT and work there or people wait for them to come to OTT within a month.
@@adityasen2281 aamir khan also as Lal Singh Chaddha despite poor trailer had taken double digit opening. Don’t forget it was despite the fact that it was a remake of Hollywood movie which was already watched by number of people in India. @@theinfinitywarrior8066 no doubt that Aamir Khan is up there, maybe even higher than Ranbir Kapoor. But he has had one release in the last 6 years & that failed so I didn't consider it. But I feel more than Aamir star presence its his goodwill & trust of backing great content that gets the opening. Where as the same cannot be attributed to srk or salman who have raw star power. I hope you get the fine difference. But yeah I guess if Aamir is included even Hrithik should be in that list. Because most of his films have opened to double digits in the last 15 years. I didn't include him for the very same reason that he has very sporadic releases.
People calling shraddha as the main reason to watch the movie doesn't know the fact that before this there has already been a hit for maddock with munjya which increased people's expectations from this movie 5 times more. @@sambuddhamukherjee1665 Agree with u but did not get this huge opening and we shouldn't forget that TJMM also has Ranbir Kapoor who himself is a superstar of today's generation also agree that both Shraddha and Rajkumar are great actors but if this isn't been a sequel this bumper opening was not possible seeing the conditions of Bollywood movies today.
I personally felt that first half was good but second half was a let down. Stree itself as a franchise was perfect. I thought they gave importance to comedy more and story less. And they made it Multiverse. I am sick of seeing movies mix with another movie.
I completely agree with you. I watched it last night, and the entire theater was filled with laughter and applause. It’s a superb movie and an excellent experience 🎉.
okay hear me out, there were quite a lot of things which i didn’t find that amusing: 1. the powers of sarkata, i didn’t get why they gave him so many powers, hypnotism, big body, ability to multiply, long hair, what was the point of making him so strong? i personally don’t like it at all when heroes/villains have powers that make no sense. 2. the varun dhawan credit scene, first of all, why was he so casual with delhi being terrorised by literal vampires????? and second, why is he all of a sudden interested in shraddha’s character???? 😭 3. not enough attention towards bhediya, i didn’t get why no one shocked at a random person who could turn into a wolf like no one inquired about him 😭😭 4. i didn’t like the entire world building, it felt very rushed 5. 2 random songs at the end, why just WHY did they have to put 2 songs AND 2 credit scenes, it felt like they were insecure or something and wanted to add a little bit of everything. 6. i felt like they rushed with the bhediya and akshay kumar thing, they could’ve stretched these out till the next movie, for eg, they could’ve shown a glimpse of bhediya and kept the character of akshay kumar. idk i am a marvel fan (the marvel till avengers endgame) so i have a standard when it comes to world building and cinematic universes but i think they’re quite fair and logical, what do y’all think?
I watched it last night 10:45 show. This movie had everything. From romance, jump scares, 3 unexpected cameos and hilarious dialogues. I had a good laugh throughout the movie. Total Paisa wasool❤❤❤
Truth be told... If Maddock wants to keep making movies in this Horror Universe, they need to definitely spend more on the CGI. Bhediya and Munjya are classic examples of that. Going forward, I would love to see more invested in this department
I saw Stree 2 today and had a riot of laughter! Awesome sequel and this universe is so beautifully knitted together -Bhediya + Munjya+Stree ❤ Loved it to the core!!! Great work!
Just came out of the theatre watching it. Damn!!! They hit it out of the park. Let’s combine all the supernatural verse in India. Add tummbad, bhool bhuliya, shaktiman, and krishh. This will freaking hit it out so hard that it will be history to remember and people will forget the marvel verse after this desi verse. 🗿👌🏻🥶💀
The movie was like a dream, I couldn't believe they actually succeeded in integrating the cameos so beautifully. I didn't imagine Bollywood could actually make its own horror comedy universe.
I just loved the movie. It lifted my friend's mood who was feeling so low, and I laughed after a long time. Glad to be part of the Maddock universe. Absolutely enjoyed the experience in the theatre after a long time. Absolutely simple writing and effortless execution and perfect comic timing.
It was really amazing to see people holding on their seats even after post credits started rolling… so much collective laughter even at mid night show tells how much people value good cinema
Every second of this sequal was worth it 💯🙌 It was mad laughter watching along with old school friends. Loved how fast pacing this movie was, not a single boring scene. Rajkumar Rao is just brilliant 👍
Let’s be real the movie is amazing and huge respect to Rajkumar he’s such an amazing actor but we all have to agree that he can’t pull audience to come and watch him Stree 2 is a clear blockbuster and there are 3 reasons behind it majorly, those are Shraddha Kapoor, stree 1 and ofc an amazing storyline
Shraddha doesn't pull the audience.. otherwise she wouldn't be giving flops after flops except Stree. Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar was a superhit because of Ranbir.
Looking at the comments, can clearly see how hard is Shraddha’s PR team working to establish as this was her movie. NO it wasn’t. Yes, she was good at her part but Rajkumar and Jana literally carried the whole movie on their shoulders
If shraddha fans like us dont see it , it wont create history but it will be ok for Rajkumar and all chapris but for us we have to make our lady star even bigger as records matter to her fans. We deserve big success. Shraddha's small role is impactful like Viola Davis in The doubt. Length doesnt matter. Impact matters.
Spoilers- I absolutely lost it when Rudra bhaiya tells Jana to throw alcohol on Sarkata's face to burn him, and the ghost enjoying that taste of alcohol LMFAOOO
An absolute blockbuster the guys absolutely rocked it. Shraddha"'s stone faced expressions are hard to watch. It is hard to see why Vicky falls for Shraddha's character. An absolute boys show. The social commentary was also good
I don't know why but I feel that Shraddha Kapoor has been used wrongly for making this movie hit. No doubt that her acting and screen presence are good, but her screen time is very short. Though many film critics have appreciated her acting, some of them have criticized her limited screen time. The makers should have given her more screen time. She is like an extended cameo in Stree 2. The makers know it well that people will go to the theatre for her if they call it her film. They are just using her for marketing. Sorry to say but this is not a Shraddha Kapoor film. I am not a hater of her, I am just telling the truth.
Right but some people say she is the only lady superstar of bollywood 😅 how many memorable movies she gave to us . Her fans are competing with alia and deepika now . Plus shrdha doesn't have any critically acclaimed role in her career
Exactly man...people may hate Alia aur dp for various reasons but you can't forget that these actors are the one who took up challenging and remarkable roles...and are finest at their art.. shradha has only played love interest.... @@জীৱনএখনউপন্যাস
I think our standards for comedy have dropped since Indian audience has been made used to loud comedies like Rohit Shetty's ones or Priyadarshan ones or countless Akshay/Rajpal ones. Stree first part was different and even Go Goa Gone for that matter where situation was comical not those loud expressions and funny background music. Unfortunately, Stree 2 took safer option of that loud comic tone which is sad. I have faith in Raj and DK to keep that undertone alive in Go Goa Gone 2. Yes, novelty of zombie comedy wont be there so tougher to make it work.
Stree 2 was fun but I feel the VFX got a downgrade from Stree. It looked half baked a lot of times which was disorienting for me. Like, when the whole glowing choti animation feels poorly rendered and tracked. The glow on the choti doesn't even interact with the rest of the environment. Bhediya looked too gimmicky and Sarkata looked like some generic free 3D asset. I loved the vfx scenes of the Stree in the first one but here too, she looked like a PNG image floating on the screen during the climax. Just like Adipurush they probably tried to cover it up with overall dark shadows but that made it difficult to see sometimes as you said.
The film starts off strong, nailing the horror-comedy genre with a perfect balance of scares and laughs. The first half is particularly engaging, as it builds up the tension with Shraddha Kapoor’s mysterious character and Rajkummar Rao’s portrayal of a reluctant protector. However, the second half takes a sharp turn into superhero territory, with a faint resemblance to the Avengers-style team-up. This shift in tone feels a bit disjointed, undermining the carefully crafted atmosphere of the first half. Despite the promising setup, the climax, where Stree unexpectedly swoops in to save the day, feels somewhat anticlimactic. While the film has its moments, the second half leaves much to be desired, making the overall experience feel average.
Honestly, I always rely on your and Shan's movie reviews to decide whether to watch a movie or not. And until now, all films which had good reviews turned out to be really good movies. Let it be Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, or Telugu, Cinema. However, this was the first movie review which I would disagree with. I would still give the bad VFX a pass. Stree 1 had the perfect balance of horror and comedy genre, similar to Bhool Bhulaiya 1. However, this movie lacked the balance. 10/10 for the comedy gags, but the horror genre was missing. There were comedy gags throughout and even when the scene was supposed to be horror and create a silence in the theater. That did not happen. The second half turned out to be sluggish and dragged and the climax was far too stretched. Overall, it was an above-average movie.
To be completely fair, I could not get into the film and enjoy it fully because of what is happening in the real world. Hard to imagine a safe space for women in India right now. It really hindered my ability to enjoy the film. I was also a little irritated with Akshay’s cameo. I literally said “Of course he is in this movie too” 😒 He is in so many films that I’m tired of seeing him on screen and his performance wasn’t even impactful. Also I initially thought mental asylum + Akshay Kumar cameo ≈ Akshay from Bhool Bhulaiya lol I will have to watch it again when I’m in the right mood. But I really enjoyed seeing Varun and the post credit scenes were interesting
Just came back from seeing it, and it was amazing. I travelled 1.5 hours each way to go see it, and would gladly do so again. The elephant scene had me laughing so hard, I couldn't stop.
The massive success of Stree 2 proves that you don't need a superstar or a Bollywood A-lister to create a blockbuster. All you need is an original story, creative writing and screenplay and food acting skills.
The Horror Comedy Universe is far far better than YRF spy universe. YRF spy universe does nothing in terms of storyline nor any character development. Tiger 3 was a big big disappointment after Tiger Zinda hai. Maddock now has also the possibility to develop Teri aankhon mein aise uljha jiya into something as interesting as the horror universe.
I just loved Stree 2. I went to watch it with my friends and oh my god!!! The comedy timing, music, storytelling, direction, just everything was top notch ✨✨ Stree 1 was great and because of that the pressure of Stree 2 to be at least good was very high and I'm so happy that they delivered. After a very long time a Bollywood movie and that too a sequel just made me laugh my heart out. It's just a wonderful movie. Will be waiting for a 3rd sequel now 😁😁
It's clear that Maddock is far more creative and visionary in creating a better universe than Rohit Shetty or YRF spy one. Honestly, Stree, Bhediya, Munjya everything has been hitting the pedestal as they should have and now Stree 2 just strengthens the hold 🔥 Look forward to what Maddock has for the future !!

Stree 2 lived up to the expectations. Wanted to see more of Shraddha's action avatar tho. And the cameo 😂
Unpopular opinion: the movie plot was mediocre and only did well at the box office because of the long weekend
I felt akshay kumar and varun dhawan were irrelevant and distracting for me atleast… story was going in a flow and then they came.. apart from it the last song 🫡after the aayi nahi song WAS NOT NEEDED.. although story line, dialogues and jump scares were 10/10 ❤
Shut up woman.

Ip ki power tum kya jaano ramesh babu hollywood m ye sab 70s se suru ho gaya tha
Dangal despite non holiday too opening of 29 cr and so did PK with 26 cr.

On top people wants to watch this movie for raj and his friends trio which was hilarious in the first part. And also people loved bhediya's post credit scene too.

I completely agree with you. I watched it last night, and the entire theater was filled with laughter and applause. It’s a superb movie and an excellent experience 🎉.
okay hear me out, there were quite a lot of things which i didn’t find that amusing:
1. the powers of sarkata, i didn’t get why they gave him so many powers, hypnotism, big body, ability to multiply, long hair, what was the point of making him so strong? i personally don’t like it at all when heroes/villains have powers that make no sense.
2. the varun dhawan credit scene, first of all, why was he so casual with delhi being terrorised by literal vampires????? and second, why is he all of a sudden interested in shraddha’s character???? 😭
3. not enough attention towards bhediya, i didn’t get why no one shocked at a random person who could turn into a wolf like no one inquired about him 😭😭
4. i didn’t like the entire world building, it felt very rushed
5. 2 random songs at the end, why just WHY did they have to put 2 songs AND 2 credit scenes, it felt like they were insecure or something and wanted to add a little bit of everything.
6. i felt like they rushed with the bhediya and akshay kumar thing, they could’ve stretched these out till the next movie, for eg, they could’ve shown a glimpse of bhediya and kept the character of akshay kumar.
idk i am a marvel fan (the marvel till avengers endgame) so i have a standard when it comes to world building and cinematic universes but i think they’re quite fair and logical, what do y’all think?

The joke around 'bittu' and 'bits' was a referencial dig at Sharvari's character from Munjya. @tried&refusedproductions I expected you to get that.
Just came out of the theatre watching it. Damn!!! They hit it out of the park. Let’s combine all the supernatural verse in India. Add tummbad, bhool bhuliya, shaktiman, and krishh.

Same thought..
Also A bit of the emotional connection was missing.. I cared less whether Sarkata dies or not..
Shraddu✨✨❤
To be completely fair, I could not get into the film and enjoy it fully because of what is happening in the real world. Hard to imagine a safe space for women in India right now. It really hindered my ability to enjoy the film. I was also a little irritated with Akshay’s cameo. I literally said “Of course he is in this movie too” 😒 He is in so many films that I’m tired of seeing him on screen and his performance wasn’t even impactful. Also I initially thought mental asylum + Akshay Kumar cameo ≈ Akshay from Bhool Bhulaiya lol
I will have to watch it again when I’m in the right mood. But I really enjoyed seeing Varun and the post credit scenes were interesting
