Yes, I can still remember the place Elounda. It was 1990. Much changed :-) At that time I was on the beach, and from there I had the view of the island of Spinalonga. Elounda is just like it was then very dreamy. When I saw the beach mile with the many outdoor cafes, restaurants, taverns, and how beautiful everything is decorated with palm trees and plants, plus the view of the white blue sea, I was fascinated and amazed. Just beautiful

We love going to Elounda. It has a nice vibe to it! And the water there is so blue! Love the view there as well. As for your question where you should go... I think you should stay on Crete. We've been coming there for 22 years now and still have not seen everything ;-)
