The Las Vegas Hilton's Star Trek Experience was much better themed. And as I recall cost less than $30. But, again in my opinion was a hell of an experience.
I fondly remember the Star Trek Experience... it was an awesome value.. they had museum quality presentations and spectacular, giant models of hanging space ships while you waited in queue for the attraction... beaming onto the Enterprise D (which was a killer effect), and walking onto a loyal creation of the bridge, and an excellent "show" of interactions with borg on the main viewer... followed by a delicious meal at Quark's Bar (cheeseborger, isolinear chips & salsa and a Klingon Raktajino)... plus a very cool gift shop... I only went once, but it was a grand time, and very affordable compared to the grand theft larceny that the cash vampires of Disney are demanding
Yes. It was 1990s. I loved going to Quark's Bar. I remember the starship Enterprise and going on the bridge. It had the wow factor. An immersive experience especially for StarTrek fans. Las Vegas Hilton got it right. It was for the fans and unlike the cash grab that Disney is doing on their Galactic Starcruiser crap.
I do have a date picked, and it’s gonna be crazy! I have a whole bunch of other surprises planed for that day as well and I’m putting finishing touches on them. It’ll be here pretty soon though! Glad to hear you’re excited! -Spencer
A few questions: At what point does Kylo Ren & Rey awkwardly kiss after their attempts to murder each other? Why doesn't the galaxy's "most celebrated" entertainer have a full band? Why does Captain Karen bear such a striking resemblance to smurf Kathleen Kennedy? Who greenlit that painfully lame lightsaber training session? Finally, who in their right mind would pay such a ridiculous amount for a less than two day experience, when half of it takes place in Galaxy's Edge (open to the general public), and the other half is populated by only one character from the universally beloved original series, a few characters from the much maligned sequel trilogy, and a few seriously goofy characters of Disney's design? Someone please enlighten me!
All completely true points. Budget cuts, budget cuts, budget cuts. The executives seem to think that Disney fans are so in love with the Disney name that they will pay for anything regardless of its quality. And honestly, they seem to be right. Disney keeps cheapening things, but these fans keep opening their wallets. Thanks for sharing your thoughts! -Spencer

This is DS9 starfleet station, all clean, look the uniforms, Disney, make this Star Trek, work a license with Paramount, and the final be starfleet vs Borgs , and there you go
Imagineer dream was bigger than any budget they could have thrown at it. The logistics of putting it together in my opinion means it should not have been green lit. I do applaud the effort. Does the price include everything on the ship? I saw a video where it looked like they there were several out pocket expenses along with the price. I know that a normal cruise has price for extras, but their start price is $500 or less. If Disney would adopt the cruise style extras, they might be able to keep it booked solid for a while. The price tag is way out of my budget, so it wouldn’t matter how amazing it is. Thanks Spencer for a good honest review.
There are some additional priced things, but everything you NEED is included. So they will feed you each meal, but extra things like bar drinks or merchandise is extra. That’s at least what we know from the press preview, but they also didn’t get to do everything. There may be other additional charges for the full experience. Nothing major though, aside from of course the massive initial cost to get in.
Its funny how some have aaid why are people hating this when they havent been and not had the experience? Well from most peoples eyes they can see that this experience is NOT worth upto $6000. If youre gonna go make sure you are NOT just listening to someone talk all day.
No, I was not there. That being said, nearly seven hours of research reading articles, watching peoples experiences, and analyzing photos went into this video. Of course, there are some things that having done it would’ve helped, but I really only commented on things that I could get a strong understanding of from here. The videos are not mine, and they are credited in the bottom left corner as they are displayed. Thanks for watching! -Spencer
Let me start off by saying that your review is the most professional of the negative reviewers that I’ve seen on YT. Most of the “hater” reviews are presented with emotional vitriol and voice raising to prove a point. I like how you present your arguments and back them up with thought, rather than rage. That being said, as with many of the other “hater” reviews out there you share a single fundamental flaw that undermines your viewpoint and conclusions, you havent actually been there. Your entire video is made up of other media videos and or Disney PR clips. You are basing your entire review off of second hand information, without total knowledge of all the facts that would allow you to draw a complete conclusion. I wont speculate as to why you didnt attend the media event (no media credentials, no invite from Disney, lack of funding) but if you want your channel to be take seriously, you have to gain first hand knowledge of the events. The other issue that I see looking at this through a lense of a hotel / vacation comparison. Think of this more of favorite sports team fantasy camp. Some of those are double the price of this Disney experience and last just as long. Yet there are fans that go every single year because they love all the memories the experience brings. This is not for the fans that want to go to WDW and ride Rise of the Resistance , Pirates of the Caribbean and Small World. But what is it worth to me if I wanted to take my two young kids and watch them run around and interact with Chewbacca and become part of the resistance to help Ray. All the while, maybe, just maybe I might run into my personal hero, Wedge, who maybe might be on the flight with me headed somewhere for some R&R. I’d love 10 mins to sit and buy that guy a drink. Who know that could be an element Disney adds…None of this was I able to do with my parents who introduced me to Star Wars. In ten years time, I’m not going to be thinking about the “wear & tear” free sets and small rooms. Not when I have those new memories. My point here is you can’t act jaded when you haven’t actually been there yet and if you are trying to be a good journalist, you should refrain from trying to influence people without first hand knowledge.
You havent either been there as well. But remember everyone can see with tneir eyes that it is not a $6000 experience also to that effect its lacking the extra characters and details needed. Ive been to a lot of TV and film role playing experiences and most have offered MORE DANGER ACTION for your money than the amount of talking that seems to be in this experience. I do wished though that this succeeded.
@@newhappiness4410 i never claimed i’ve been there. But I’m not the one with a RUclips, channel writing reviews of places / experiences that I have had no first hand experience with. Hey, thanks so much for the comment. I first want to say it's very refreshing to see someone disagree in such a mature fashion. Usually people write angry, emotional, and rude comments when they disagree with one of my takes. I respect how you presented an alternative viewpoint that has a logical line of though rather then just insults that have nothing to do with the topic. That's great to see, and I actually enjoy getting to discuss matters with someone who has the opposite opinion. So, thank you for that, I truly appreciate it! Now, I do still retain my same opinion, but at the end of the day that's all it is... some 17 year old kids opinion. So, yes, I have not gone to the starcruiser. That being said, I personally retain my feelings toward this experience. Disney's promotional footage that I used in the video and analyzed is carefully crafted by some pretty genius marketing teams. If even that footage looks highly flawed, then the real life experience will likely retain those same flaws. A lot of the problems I see with it and pointed out can really be told without having gone. And of course, having gone to the preview would have enabled me to have a deeper understanding of everything. I would have loved to go, but at the current size of my channel there is no way I would get an invite. As soon as I am in the position to though, I will be on site gathering in-person information. That's just unfortunately not possible at the moment. Researching this video though, I did everything I possibly could from my room. Seven+ hours of research, photo/video analysis, etc. went into this video. I truly tried to get the most accurate portrayal of this experience from my bedroom that I could. Trying to prove that this isn't a good "Star Wars" experience was really my claim. It just doesn't work in that regard in my personal opinion. That being said, I remained honest and admitted to the parts that I thought were cool even though it countered my claim. I am also really glad to hear that you think this would be a great journey for you and your kids to go on. Ultimately, if it can put that spark of magic inside of you and your family, then it is ultimately doing its job. That's most important. It seems like you think this experience is amazing, so I hope you get to do it someday. Once again, thank you for presenting your viewpoint in a respectful and constructive way, that's great to see. Thanks for watching and sharing your input! -Spencer
