funny thing about the mega mewtwo.... in the most recent movie involving mewtwo: team plasma, after acquiring the mewtwo data from team rocket would have had to literally clone thousands of mewtwo, and then promptly murder them with the same energy as what originally made the mega stones. remember, each mega stone is the literal crystalized souls of thousands of pokemon that died from that ancient weapon. and thats actually pokemon canon. :P as for the games.. who knows, but since that lore about the mega stones still stands in the main series games... well someone did what team plasma did in that movie. man dont you just love how dark pokemon can be when you dig a little deeper into its lore?
Considering how Team Plasma was even more obsessed with humanizing or synthesizing Pokemon for their own enslavement (think of the tools, items, and even Genesect clone army in the making), I wouldn't be surprised if Team Plasma found a way to manipulate the energy to be taken in a similar way. In Black and White, Genesect had these items called Drives that were essentially compressed elemental forces. If Mewtwo is man-made, what's to say that Team Plasma let alone fragments of Team Rocket didn't simply use that data from failed clones OR their own reserves of grunts towards a goal?
In before the rest of the vid. I think one is for his throat and esophagus and spine. The second one is simply a second, much larger brain stem. He would possess massive brain power due to his psychic typing so he would need to distribute it through his body which results in the enlarged brainstem. However its too big for one neck so it made a second one
potentially. or as the other guy said it could be for spinal fluid or w/e. or it could just be an abnormal growth as a result of genetic splicing, we know from the manga that mewtwo is part human (blaine in the manga) part pokemon. (which also explains why he's more human like in his psyche and why he seems to be going though a feeling like he belongs to neither groups, as he's literally a pokemon's body, raw potential and power with a human mind)
Perhaps also because cloning is a very difficult process with a very low success and survival rate, the very first clone Dolly died due to lung complications and so did the Pyrenean ibex (the 1st cloned extinct animal) and in the uncut japanese version there were 4 other developed clones of the starters and Mr.Fuji's daughter, all of which perished with Mewtwo barely surviving. The extra neck may have been formed to assist in critical nutrients to travel from the head and body of the embryo and perhaps to ensure the proper function of the respiratory system.
In smash he uses his rail as one of his primary melee weapons Mewtwo' s swollen tail is likely just a slab of muscle at the end to deadweight pummel his enemies #mewtwo is an akylosaurus XD
I thought Mewtwo has two necks just in case he starts choking in his first neck and uses his second neck to breath while trying to stop choking in his first neck.

Mewtwo is actually MUCH stronger than Mew, so even more reason for needing more room for nerves. He isn’t an imperfect clone, he’s an improved clone. For example, in the first movie, Mewtwo was matching Mew in Strength WHILE ALSO blocking all the other Pokémon’s powers AND maintaining an apocalyptic level storm. Mewtwo was also able to recreate a cloning lab FROM SCRATCH considering he annihilated the first lab, and his was BETTER than the first lab, and he only needed help from one nurse Joy because she knew about Pokémon physiology making cloning easier. Mew on the other hand still hasn’t figured out or doesn’t care to figure out human speech (something Mewtwo could do at first consciousness). I love Mew, Mew is adorable but Mewtwo blows Mew out of the water.
Team Rocket who basically commissioned him to be made only cared about raw strength, so he's not an exact clone but that doesn't make him a failed clone because he was never meant to be an exact clone, he was meant to be a more powerful clone, and by all means he is. Both are powerful but Goku isn't near as strong as Vegeta, despite the fact that he knows way more techniques. Mew may be able to learn every TM but Mewtwo doesn't NEED to, he's smart enough and powerful enough that anything he can't do he could just make something to do it for him.

I agree that the extra body part supports extra nerves, but by no means is a "second neck". If it was a neck, there would be a spinal bone set for tbe extra part as well
I never called it a neck, I called it an andrenaline tube, meaning it is mostly for increased blood flow to the brain, not more nervous system connection.
Nervous system... that definitely makes sense. I also think it's because its head is so big that it just needs the extra support of that second neck. The first one isn't really thick after all.
Thankfully someone put this here. I was just thinking that Delphox, the fully evolved version of Fennekin, not only is psychic but uses a tool. The only thing I'm sad about Fennekin is that Delphox does't recite fiery spells in it's own name (missed, awesome, opportunity).
I've always thought it's just there to stop mewtwo's head from bobbing, the head's much bigger than the neck so the neck would have trouble keeping it straight. Would also explain why Mega Mewtwo X has three, as a fighter it's in the melee, so it's taking hits, and so it needs the additional 2 necks to prevent being killed by a strong hit to the face
I'm not sure about this one. I though it would be part of the circulatory system: extra veins and arteries to give more blood to the brain. Since psychic powers come from the brain, it would make more sense that the brain needs more resources. In humans, the brain is the organ that consumes more resources too. The loop in mega mewtwo's head coud be a re-circulation system to consume more resources before the blood is taken away. Nerves only make connections with the rest of the body, it doesn't make sense to me.
I kinda thought it was supposed to look similar to Dialga's long head. They even have similar little horns along the sides of their heads(though Dialga's also stretch to the back of the head).
1:00 look at his hair, I’ve figured out it’s secrets. As you can clearly see by the way it jiggles, it is *actually* just a tub of gelatin glued to his head, and covered in hair.
I've always assumed the second neck was a dedicated artery directly to the brain, so that it always has a supply of blood and nutrients to sustain it. Though, having extra nerves in there as well makes sense too.
When I was younger, I had a theory that the secondary neck was a kind of external massive blood vessel that would help pump extra blood from his body to his brain, considering how powerful his brain his, it would probably need an extra supply of blood to keep it running adequately. This was also supported by the idea that the secondary neck did start from his back in the chest cavity, where his heart would probably be. But if that was the case (know that I'm older and more biologically informed), wouldn't that mean that Mewtwo would require a MASSIVE heart to pump the extra blood to his brain, not only to keep him alive, but also help feed his psychic powers? Does that theory have merit?
CalculOvo Mexido The mouth is only for breathing, grunting in Smash, and presumably eating. He doesn't talk with his mouth. In fact, in a way, he was speaking twice at once at one point in the first movie: once himself, and once through Nurse Joy.
As for the "neck" on its evolution's head, I think it's just to make him look more "divine" as it becomes stronger. In anime drawings when a character becomes stronger they either get wings, hallos or so... to look more angelical. Or they get horns to look more demonical. It's just a drawing resourse. Mewtwo's body it's just a biological extesion to make him phisically interact with his sorroundings, the actual mewtwo it's just the head and the second "neck" it's its tail. haha.
I feel like it was more of a cosmetic choice on GF's end. The whole "tubes" thing, reminiscent of Mewtwo being inside the glass tank with tubes protruding from it. The tail, actually, reminded me of Cheetahs and how their tails are weighed at the ends to assist with cornering when running fast. Maybe it simply help with counterbalancing when in flight so his brain doesn't have to constantly work on it itself.
That's because they are based on game theory, like pokemon is with digimon. IT CAME FIRST!!!!! POKEMON BEGAN AS A 90's THING AND DIGIMON WAS FROM THE 80's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My exact question that just gets shrugged off. How are mega stones, which were made in response to a super weapon fired 3,000 years ago, made for a creature born 2 decades ago? Huge plot hole if you ask me.
But what about Charizard then? Pretty sure Charizard is not a clone of anything. There probably is a better explanation : feeding their fans by giving the favorite ones two Megas
@@andreaquadrati That is the out-universe answer. I want an in-universe answer. It is not really about the amount of stones for 1 Pokémon. Charizard is - as far as i know - a naturally occuring creature. Also as far as i know, the stones are natural (or a natural response to whatever idk), so it is not weird that they work on Charizard. (Dont ask about Aerodactyl, idk how old the stones are). Mewtwo is not natural (sort of failed clone) and pretty recently made in the timeline. How can there be stones for it? If anyone, Mew should have stones. Or have the stones work on both of them. Do you understand my question now?
I think that ring is meant to look like a traditional asian halo. Take a look at any depictuon of a bhudda and youll find a ring around his head representijg his enlightenment, generally related to similar forms of intelligence or "semi-psychic" mentality. Probably trying to show mewtwos psychic potential is semi enlightened. As far as an animal goes anyway. After all he is the savage pokemon, probably not capable of having the other half of a halo unless you couldnt see it, hence why the top half sticks out of his body, sort of like a sun rise or sun set. Depending on the situation it is easily both!

I always figured that the second neck was a support for it's large head.
Now can you tell us why I have 2 chins?
Isaac Norwood damn...

Your fat that's why go lose some weight
@Ninja Vinnie Taking this waayyy too seriously.
Tbh mewtwo has a second neck because it was a good design choice
And his physic power is mostly consentrated in his hands for his attacks and his tail and feet for his flying
I never thought of that Thing as a second neck... For me ist more of a second way for oxygen to reach the Brain
Maybe Fennekin wasn't the best example of, Big Head=Genius. After all, it evolves into Delphox, and Delphox is Fire/Psychic.
5:56 "Mewtwo's not an 'Ankleosaurus.'" It's An-ky-lo-saur-us. That's like saying

Mega Mewtwo X actually has 3 Necks, look up the 3D model, it's weird
And you are right.
Bruh why did I read this as Megaman X xD?
That is pretty weird
Always thought that was to make Mega Mewtwo X look like it's got an hood of some sorts
Yeah, I always thought that was interesting. Just more tubes lol.
Alternatively, the weird thing on his head in Mega Y form could be there to help cool his brain and blood to handle work more quickly and effeciently.

"What could even compete? A god perhaps?"
So... you didn't mention that Arceus has the same head tail, which could help your case.
Well Arceus is primarily a Normal type, with the other types being gained with the help of plates.
That's not an head tail. Arceus just got fabulous hair
Arceus is all, the plates are just a gameplay mechanic.
I kinda thought it was supposed to look similar to Dialga's long head. They even have similar little horns along the sides of their heads(though Dialga's also stretch to the back of the head).
That movie, "Lucy", never actually said we only use 10% of our brain at a time. What was actually said was we only use 10% of our brains potential
Fennekin's head is massive because its mostly hollow to vent hot gases out its ears.
All Psychic type Pokemon have big brains and heads when you think about.
Unown ?
@@Kinra_Jade Its body is it's head.
@@PeiceofNick Though, it's flat and the eye is taking itself a lot of space :/
That's why you need a lot of them. But only Arceus wants that many unown; plus he's probably the only one who can own them.
@@Kinra_Jade Maybe the eye, head. and brain are all fused together to make some sort of super orgin.

@@vo1d937 Scary...
Mewtwos weakness:doors
Reason:his extra neck gets caught on the door handle
I've always assumed the second neck was a dedicated artery directly to the brain, so that it always has a supply of blood and nutrients to sustain it. Though, having extra nerves in there as well makes sense too.
Haunter is literally just a head.
IT MUST BE A GENIUS!
Hey, you said no Fennekin is a genius shenanigans so here's Haunter shenanigans
Slowly waiting for porous’ to take over the world.
glaile, forretress, and spoink must be ultra intelligent pokemon then
They don't even need to think about moving limbs
well if they have to fit other organs in just their heads, including a nervous system and all, the ratio isn’t that great
Mewtwo's second neck is actually a handle for easy transport
"like those sexy chokers" *quickly zooms on to face*
But Fenniken also evolves into a Psychic type and has some Psychic ability.....
So if I got this right a human sized chiwawa would probably be a genius with ESP.
Mewtwo is a CAT, Person, pokemon, experiment-type thing. I dunno WHAT mewtwo is, but I know mewtwo is not a chiwawa.
@@Attaxalotl Yes! Ive figured it out, mewtwo is a chihuahua!
@@Kiki-gs6ml -_- -\_("_)_/-
When I was younger, I had a theory that the secondary neck was a kind of external massive blood vessel that would help pump extra blood from his body to his brain, considering how powerful his brain his, it would probably need an extra supply of blood to keep it running adequately.
I don't know but I like where your head is at with this theory

@@RuBoo001 ok, i'm wrong
Electrode is the smartest Pokemon confirmed.
What about Glalie?
Actually fenniken is a genius with it evolving into psychic

I read the list, where're my 75 cool points ( also I saw you hate game theory as you had negative points for it)

I don't think the people who drew Mewtwo had a reason that

Why are there not 1, but 2 mega evolution stones (found in nature) for Mewtwo (made by mankind)?
My exact question that just gets shrugged off. How are mega stones, which were made in response to a super weapon fired 3,000 years ago, made for a creature born 2 decades ago? Huge plot hole if you ask me.
Time travel?
@@dinosaurusrex1482 Who time traveled? The mega evolution stones?
It transmits all the phycic energy throughout his body because he can't Sen it all through one neck
For the longest I believed it to be an enlarged artery carrying extra oxygen to Mewtwos brain.
Lockstin asked why Mewtwo has 2 necks
And I said
Wynaut!
