Its the behind the scenes stuff you don't see. They may have approached other managers prior, and been unsuccessful, or they may not have the funds for a transfer window, so whoever comes in now, there's no expectation on funding.

I think it had to happen but the timing is very odd just before a game and a few days after the window shut, whilst it has been dire recently I don't think he'd lost the players and thought he would atleast get a final chance at Norwich and possibly Oxford games with a few players back from injury and the new additions to turn it around.

As a Forest supporter, The gap between the two teams is the biggest distance for the longest time. Additionally, there is a significant gap between the Premier League and the Championship, as well as between the Championship and League One. This absence between the leagues can be felt over time. Returning to the league above is not simple; a team can either become a yo-yo club, bouncing between divisions or work to establish itself correctly, which takes time.

It’s unfortunate. The truth is we’re still paying for what Mel Morris did. That squad is a League One squad. I think they played hard for PW. They just don’t have the quality. The building has been done on the cheap hoping and praying that the Scandinavian kids can do something. The striker can’t. We’ll see bout the new kid. I have my doubts. I get this is a chance shot at getting a new manager bump and avoiding relegation. But it’s. League One squad.

Warne is great if you want out of league 1. But his tactics will never work in the championship long term we've dropped off as soon as the set piece goals have dried up.
The timing of the sacking suggests we have someone lined up to sack him a day before a game after training seems a bit mad but typical Derby.
Gerrard is the early favourite not sure his good choice just hope if he does brings Mick Beale with him cause his record without him is bad. I would have said Ryan Lowe of the managers available probably the best choice people mention Steve Cooper and Russell Martin but can't see either of them coming in are current postion

Nothing is supposed to be fair. Football is not an exception, and with clubs like Derby, there’s no time to wait for progress. Decisions need to be fast, even if they don’t feel justified. Evolution in football happens at lightning speed-one bad run, and you're out. Derby needed change, and now they’ll hope the next manager can steer them clear of relegation.
