- Late 90's WBER staple Splashdown played several shows in Rochester during their far-too-short career, but to my knowledge this is the only video of any of those shows that exists. I am not the original taper of either audio or video, so I can't provide any technical specs. What I can say is that I overwrote the video's original audio with a fuller audience recording, but had to transition between the two sources during audience breaks because they didn't fully sync up for some reason.
They shoulda been HUGE. HUGE!!!
Holy crap...this is my video! I knew there were some copies out there that I shared with fellow fans but never expected to find it on RUclips.
Was recorded on a late 90's Sony Handycam (8mm cassette?), but the sound was only from the internal mic (and I recall it sounded horrible).
I even recorded the backstage meet and greet with the band as they chatted with fans and signed and sold items. Don't know if that part of the video still exists, may have a VHS somewhere...

I can't believe this exists, and that I wasn't aware until just now. This is unbelievable. Splashdown is my favorite band ever, and this is the first time I've ever seen a full concert of theirs on video (and it's a considerably longer set than the one time I saw them live myself).

Wish they were treated better by their label and we could have had more Splashdown. Blueshift was the best album never released! I can thank this band and its members for inspiring me for over two decades now, even got to work with a couple of them in the past… man, what could have been… Kasson and Melissa still make music together here and there so I am thankful for that
Okay, just found out one of my favorite bands of all time played a festival in my town when I was 17, which was around the exact time I started listening to them. If only 17 year old me knew, I would have been there so fast and loved it. They even did my 4 favorite songs
I discovered Splashdown nearly 1 year after they broke up. It's extremely hard to describe the feeling of incredible excitement and then devestating heartbreak within the same hour. I will listen to them until my dying breath. Love them so much.

For the many comments saying they're sad they broke up, I know it's not the same but they're all in other bands now, Kassons done various things including freezepop, rocococo, and symbion project, melissa is doing universal hall pass, and Adam just started a new band with the name dead star cult after stopping anarchy club
Kasson and Melissa work together periodically and just released a compilation album called Syndicat, it's REALLY good... don't want to try to rank it against Splashdown, but REALLY good.

Melissa R. Kaplan Has such a beautiful voice. she should have had more success. She has very middle eastern Arabic sound. I wonder who she was influenced by?

Capitol records screwed them over and didn't allow them to publish their second album even though it was almost complete I believe
Corporate cannibalism? Some bands are devored to support the big "talent" acts. I really don't know their history so it's a speculation at best.
