Delightful! I have coveted this model for a while, with the aim of slope or thermal flying. My gliding background coming through. Lol. Enjoyable watching. Thanks Cliff.
@@ModelAV8RChannel She flies better than I thought she would, ailerons should give me more control motor off which is important if I fly on the Moors because motors aren't allowed 🙂👍
These have always been nice gentle fliers, Andrew. I believe you used to be able to get them in 2 sizes - about 1200 and 1400, I think. "1nformatica" and "Andrew Newton" had videos up about them.
These are great fun. I've thermal soared mine a number of times and it almost always attracts hawks that join in the fun. I've also FPVed it but I have to say that if flies so slow that it can get a bit boring with the goggles on 🙂 A great option for some covert flying because once your a hundred feet or so up in the sky nobody even realises that it's not a real bird.
@vollzeitflieger2490 Hi Frederic, I think with it's tight turning circle thermalling is quite possible, as for your second question I'll let nature take its course 😉
I fly mine on a 3s 2200 and it still floats. I traced the nose in light ply and glued it on the back, the "beak" breaks very easily. I also did some on the inside bottom to reinforce the chest/battery area. This is a great cheapie plane that always gets a lot of attention. 🍻
Very nice Cliff, Good conditions too by the look of it. I was going to get another one of these and see there is a version2 now with slightly bigger wingspan.
What a fantastic " 'plane." Dosent it fly well? If you flew it in large circles steadily climbing from a distance it would look like a real bird riding a thermal. Because I'm not very knowledgeable about electric power could you please explain what the difference is between an s3 and s2 battery is?
Thanks Tony, she does fly exceptionally well, I was quite surprised! Lipo batteries are composed of a number of 'cells'. A 1S battery, or a single-cell LiPo battery, has a nominal voltage of 3.7 volts. When fully charged, its maximum voltage is 4.2 volts. So a 2s battery is twice that of a 1s and a 3s is three times etc, the voltage increases to give more power to the motor, that's assuming it can take it along with the speed controller rated for the number of amps a motor will draw. It sounds more complicated that it actually is, suffice to say it had a lot more 'grunt' on the 3s battery, cheers.
Hi Owen, I bet when no one's watching they do a full aerobatic routine 😁 I have seen crows looping on my local slope when chasing each other for fun though!

You have to get one Len, fantastic value for money as well 👍
What a great flight Cliff. Just wonderful & great to see the model in your capable hands.🦘🪃🇦🇺
Many thanks Noel, you can't go wrong really 😁
Nice maiden, Cliff. That’s a neat little kit. Nice work.
Thanks Ken 👍
What a fun little plane /bird thanks for sharing 😊.
It really is Mark, a fun interlude, cheers
Wow Cliff it flies really good! Nice. looking forward to the aileron flight.

Cliff fantastic maiden and great flying. Jeff in LA USA
Thanks Jeff, just a shame the sun didn't peep out 🙂
Really nice and stable flight. Even the 2s would be good enough for me. The low passes were great to see.
@@downwindchecklist6567It's a sweet little flyer, marginal on 2s but fine if the wind isn't to strong 🙂

@@theoztreecrasher2647 You're right on the sizes there, there are a couple of 1.4's in the club but I've yet to see a decent flight!

You're not trying to tell us you've been covertly flying at a certain airfield are you Bruce 😗😁
@@CliffHarveyRCPlanes I'm afraid not 😞 that was a little while back 😕
Great fun planes.
Absolutely, thanks for the heads up Bob 👍
Thanks for sharing,it flies great ~
@@dancingwingshobby5693 Well it's a great design, you're welcome 🙂
I like it it flies nice
It does doesn't it Paul, nice and gentle 🙂
What a sweet little flyer the 1.2m Eagle is, I may have to add an aileron servo though! Update ... I've added ailerons to test soon 🙂
Beautiful bird, Cliff! Do you think it'll be any good in thermals? And how do you plan on fending off avian suitors...? 😄

@@TheLostSquadron I fancied trying that size battery, the reinforcement is a good idea as well 👍
That looks fun, I was witness with some flying this and a load of Kytes flying around.
Fun foamy but not as satisfying as a Mini Sinbad for example 😉😁
Great bird. Only negative for me is the battery access is a pain.
I may cut a hatch Jake, it would be a good improvement for sure 🙂

@@Darren.n.RCvids That's right Darren, 1.4m, a bigger one still would be fun 😁
Looks relaxing. I fly near a river and see real eagles occasionally. I wonder if they'd be impressed?
Good question, we don't get many (any!) around these parts 🤔

Well said that man 😁
Will it scare pigeons?
Yes, but the question is 'am I scared of pigeons' and the answer is: 'only if they're flying over me!'
