You are well spoken in this video, Bjorn, well done! You are a great example of how to be respectful to others and nature. That is a very beautiful and warm location you filmed this video in, I'm jealous. I've not more to say other than thank you for another great video :)
Chaga is hard to find if you can find it at all this far south. I recently bought some Chaga from an Etsy shop in Canada for tea. My Mom just won a battle with breast cancer so I got her a tincture made with alcohol to put in her water everyday and I make tea for her and my daughters and myself as a preventative because skin cancer is in my genes on my father's side. I've noticed a small difference in how I feel since drinking it everyday. I feel like I have a more clear mind and slightly more energy. My children's allergies seem to be not as bad as well. I really like it but I wish it was more abundant down here. Thank you for this video!
Dear all, chaga is a very valuable fungus. A piece the size of a thumb can be boiled in a pint of water for half an hour, sweetend with honey then drunk. It has a taste almost like delicate licorice. In Siberia, where I was a few times, they use it to cure liver disease (as you can imagine). The cooked up shanga you can use again and again for a week or more until it is tasteless. It shall shring in size. When dried out then, you can use it for tinder to start a fire.
Chaga I believe helped my lovely Mary as the cancer was eating away at her. It is no cure but I do believe it did help her. Esp with the effects of the chemo and radiation. It is always a treat to see you my friend. I made hers by making it like a pot of coffee. Just grind it up and make it just the same. I am really looking forward to see the camp build. I hope you are having a great weekend......Dean......
Good one Bjørn! I often find chaga (sprängticka) when i walk in the woods. Can't say that i know much about it other than level of antioxidant is extreme. Which is said to be very healthy and holds back ageing. Our natives have held it high in generations. To me it simply taste forest, which is very pleaseant. As try to do with everything, i don't harvest more than i use for my own or some friend. Cheers Bjørn!

@@BjornAndreasBull-Hansen cancer is caused from chemical and or biological contaminants in poorly treated public fawcet water. Holistic medicine is proven to be a promising choice because it does not bring down the immune system like chemo does or burn important tissue and organs like radiation chemo cancer treatment does. Radiation chemo cancer treatment was invented after World War 2 by a Jewish inventor of Old Testament Torah Jewish Orthodox religion with over 600 repetitive prayers and superstitions. They are the same people that invented the chemical weapons of World War 1 and 2. This type of religion is also common in the Ukraine and developed from Byzantine and Catholicism. The biological contaminants reproduce live microbials and nematodes throughout the body that feed on the nutrients a person consumes. If they die tissue can form around them giving the appearance of a tumor or tumors. A person should not consume any sugars either artificial or regular or anything sweet or with added sugar because they gain energy and multiply more rapidly from sugar. A normal well balanced diet of home cooked meals and a boost in vitamins with added herbs and spices is best. Snacks should be nutritional such as seeds and nuts and vegetables and jerky and healthy crackers with cream cheese. Wormwood in the capsule form is an ancient herbal holistic medicine treatment that is not harmful and can be stopped and restarted at intervals while noting progress. Follow exact directions on the label. People in places such as India lived 30 years and longer without cancer treatment. Millions of people in America and the U.K. have also died of cancer although most are white people. One tall glass of Vodka and Ocean spray orange juice without sugar will eliminate the problem of H Pylori that is also a biological contaminant found in fawcet water. The Vodka must be made from potatoes as potatoes are a vegetable and do not turn into sugar in the body. A person should not eat or drink anything 3 hours before or after this treatment drink and can drink it slowly if they do not normally drink alcohol. It is advisable that people obtain the Vodka quickly as this type of Vodka might only be made by the Russians but I am not sure if anyone else makes it. The Russians originated from the Sweden and Norway Vikings and that explains their invention of Vodka as the Vikings were always under attack by their largely Catholic and or atheist enemies in numerous ways and probably poisoned at times too along with other toxins. The Norway Vikings had a fermented liquid drink of honey and spices that may have helped them with any ailments brought on by the same enemies and honey and spices are good antioxidants.

Thank you for the reminder and making this video. I got so busy with other things and really need to make some more tea. Traditional cancer treatments are so destructive and the Chaga is a good healthy practice.
This is an excellent point regarding the taste of nature. I believe that the sense of taste is a survival tool that we abuse in modern times. We answer cravings with the worst things, when in reality a sweet tooth might’ve driven us to find fruit or honey in the past. It would’ve been our way to naturally vary our diet and get all the nutrients needed. Have you noticed how a bit of hunger increases alertness and bolsters the sense of smell? Yet we treat even the slightest hunger pang as if it were a deathly illness to be cured with food as fast as possible. Another aspect is thirst. I have read nowadays the we are losing a distinct thirst sense and often feel it as ‘hunger’ instead - so people might be snacking when they could just do with more water. I like to be comfortable as much as anyone; but I sometimes envy my ancestors for their strength and wisdom.

We have a great resource for native chaga here in Maine - The Mainely Chaga Company in St. Albans, Maine USA. "Chaga chunks" would cost approx $30 USD per pound of weight. Thank you for the informative video!
Agree, bitter tasting herbs are quite difficult to like sometimes. Good for your liver, often. I don't know if chaga is bitter though but I think the bitter ones are more challenging than the rest. I tried some Wormwood once. Yeeuch. I have never tasted anything more bitter!
If it fights cancer, it would be wise to drink it regularly. Dried fungus is actually very good for tea. Many have very a distinctive taste, often spicy.
Ok. I gotta tell you about this. I just experienced a weird moment while watching you at this "Chaga" camp fire. I got so into it, that when you adjusted the fire wood, I caught myself just about to blow on the smoking embers. But you got in there and beat me to it. I immediately realized what had happened in my head and felt embarrassed that I got so involved with your video. I think I even looked around to see if anyone saw me do that. And I am all alone here in my apartment. Yep! I am "losing it", but at least in a kinda fun way...where I can laugh at myself. Don't tell anyone ok?
I agree with what you say in your blog, about our taste being numbed by the use of salt, refined sugar and premade spice mixes - this is exactly why I started doing some foraging for new, cleaner tastes some years ago. Factory made spice mixes, to me, seem to taste salt only, with a hint of something indescribable. Being a tea drinker myself, I do think I have to try chaga at some point - both for the taste, and to see if it can help with some inflammatory issues I have
I love that rocky campsite, Bjorn! (I had to pause the video to warm up some previously brewed Chaga tea to enjoy with you) I am using commercial (ethically harvested) Chaga chunks presently, but hope I can make an excursion to a nearby forest where there are plenty of bjerke trees, and perhaps find some! I have an older tree in my back yard that is unfortunately leaning and becoming a danger, so I will have to harvest it this year. But it will be used to warm our home! Too bad there is no Chaga on it, that I can tell. Please keep up your great work! Karl
Very nice Bjorn, I was wondering about that kettle. I have never seen one like that and it looks very useful, any leads on getting one like that? Thanks.
Hello again sir👍 I`ll doing this in Norwegian.....
Have you considered perhaps livestreaming the building of the Viking settlement on either RUclips or Twitch:? just set the camera up with a panoramic view and just let it record the whole days progress so people can come into the stream and check up on the progress live? I could imagine it being quite relaxing to watch. Maybe with some royalty free viking music in the background
02.01.2022: I have some chaga at home so used some to make some tea in the same way you did. Normally I add a little chaga powder to my morning coffee. PS I bought my chaga online from a Russian source. PPS I'm 78 this year so please excuse me taking chaga as a prophylactic.
Thank you for sharing. I have not tried Chaga Tea but have seen it on a lot of channels. I see you can purchase it online.. maybe I will do that someday. :) ~cheers my friend
Chaga tea is better not being boiled or subjected to high heat. The addition of high temperatures chemically alters some of its contents and renders them ineffective.
North east north america is supposed to be strongest. I'm in northern NY state and our chaga grows on big yellow birch. the trees are bigger and live longer. North of us Quebec and Nova Scotia they have big white birch and it's colder so my bet would be theres is a likely to be the strongest. Pollution fallout is the most importent thing to consider. Down wind of cities and nuke plants could be contaminated. The city south of us sprays for mosqitoes etc. Upwind from my location is Lake ontario so our chaga is clean and pure.
Tho years have lapsed...of course wellness to community viewer living with cancer, in addition to chaga, my experience with "Turkey Tail" was highly successful; albeit safe provision essential to neutralize cancer
Thanks for adding to your chaga tea videos. We have the beginning harvesting part and now the brewing. How about one for the processing/drying part? Thanks again for another beautiful video.
Bjorn Andreas Bull-Hansen so they’re hiding your other video? For any reasons in particular? No idea why they would censor an informational video. I understand any alcohol distillation being not appropriate but surely the drying and prepping isn’t harmful to anyone. Friggin RUclips... ever since they started offering services for a fee they’ve been going nuts on the censorship. They should go after the bogus content and leave the quality providers such as yourself in peace. Thanks again for all you do Bjorn!

Being a tea drinker myself, I do think I have to try chaga at some point - both for the taste, and to see if it can help with some inflammatory issues I have
I buy it at the health food store but it’s cool to know how to make it.
Nice job!
Great advice all around my friend! All the best to you and of course your ailing friend. 💪
Thank you, Wade!
Excellent video. Thanks for sharing.
Glad you liked it!
Karl
Thanks, Karl. There is something special about that which you have harvested yourself.
Very nice Bjorn, I was wondering about that kettle. I have never seen one like that and it looks very useful, any leads on getting one like that? Thanks.
another great video big guy! do you have bad pollen there yet? allergy season incoming!
I hope this helps your friend out.
Thank you. I am sure it will.
Great video once again. There is No chaga where i live so No chaga Tea for me. So it's Nice to see others and at least have the knowledge about.
Thanks, my friend!
Way cool vid. My dad’s fighting cancer; he’s beating it. I think.
Bjorn, thanks for sharing, I have some , but haven't used it in awhile. I need to brew some up !
Hello again sir👍 I`ll doing this in Norwegian.....
I’m going to make some.
I think there would be a potential problem because of privacy. Not veryone is okay with being on camera.
@@BjornAndreasBull-Hansen hmm that is true, perhaps it could be something you could discuss with them :) if you wanted to anyway ofcourse
Thanks, my Viking friend. You should, it’s the taste of the boreal forest!
Chaga tea is better not being boiled or subjected to high heat. The addition of high temperatures chemically alters some of its contents and renders them ineffective.
Thanks Bjorn, hope it helps your friend. 👍🙂
Thank you, Mike. I am sure it will.
I just finish m'y chaga tea...in Québec we have a lot of...delucios
I wish I knew that 15 years ago. Not for me, but my father was willing to try anything since modern medicine couldn't help.
You can purchase chaga powder from some grocery stores if You are not able to harvest it Yourself.
Interesting video. Thanks.
Bjorn, do you know if Chaga from one region is stronger/more effective than from other areas?
That's a good idea! We will see if RUclips hides this video or not. At the moment, it looks like they're hiding it, sadly.
@@BjornAndreasBull-Hansen Have you made a Chaga playlist, maybe combine it with other woodland medicinal videos, maybe entitled 'Natural Medicine'.
I enjoy your adventures, USA Tennessee.
Glad to hear that, Robert!
Many many thanks. My Mother could use this.
my favorite tea..i drink at least 1cup pr/day all year aruond
Awesome!
Frejas træ :) you can make a shampoo from the leaves, a Tea from the fallen leaves in fall and tape its netar in spring. Really a good reminder why keeping nature safe is so important in todays World cuzz on Day we might need it to survive again when teknology fails us. Awesome video and while i havnt tastet the chaga and hopefully Will never need to it is good knowlegde to have
Good follow up video to your Chaga hunt. Does the Chaga have a aroma while brewing?
Not much. Some, but it's hard to describe, really.
interesting. thank yew
our new secret squirrel greeting will be: do you know about de chaga? ja i know bout the chaga!
Does it grow on silver birch?
