Cool vid, I've been curious about adding statorade to my motors. What sprocket is that on that motor? And how many teeth does it have. I'm using a 14 tooth to 60t chainring and run out of pedal at 25mph. Thank you.
Thank you David! This one is a 14 tooth as well, it sure does nothing above 20mph since I have a 44t chainring. Without something like a schlumpf drive crankset you can't really get it to work above 25mph.
I am going to be honest, if the statorade often gets hot I do believe it loses properties, but I don't have the experience to back that up. Why do you suspect that?
@@Asvybre We have 5 delivery trikes that get used every day. Eventually the motor fails. We run the motors at above design power which is fine initially. Newly installed motors don’t fail. The failed motors I have taken apart are a gummy mess. Unfortunately I haven’t been there long enough to know how long the motors have been used but in one year I replaced 3 out of 5. I suspect it’s like any other oil based lubricating product. If you don’t change it out on a regular schedule, you’re going to have problems.
That is interesting. Is it possible that maybe water is getting in and mixing with the ferrofluid? I haven't seen that yet but in a few months maybe I will open up this one and check how it's doing.
Good explanation and easy to follow and understand
Let us know the results after a few months

Thank you so much Adam!
I'll have some results in a future video.

I am beginning to suspect statorade needs to be cleaned out and reapplied after a period of time. I might try doing it yearly.

@@Asvybre Very likely water gets in. It rains almost 1 out of every 2 days here.
Ferrofluid doesn't give you more power, it helps transferring heat out... That's allw
That is correct! But my point is that by adding the ferrofluid you're able to deliver more power from the same motor without damaging it.
