Unemployed for a year r/t health issues. Still fighting for disabled child for SSA. Im still going to my Dr appts and may have to do disability as well. I've had 3 student lenders in a year. Can't ever get a hold of them. Approved PSLF, tried HRSA ( never could get a hold of them for past 7 yrs). Was RN still am ( cant walk). I worked through the whole pandemic w/o hazard pay. I purchased 2 yrs ago, my 1st home. I was a republican, paid my taxes, and everyone's stay at home pay and PPP loans for years. I paid, and i owe more now than before covid... while paying the whole time. Im on medicaid insurance. I dont have a dime to my name, except my home. I can't lose my home. What are my options? I can't risk losing my home in bankruptcy. There are lots of people like myself. What are we supposed to do? I have to leave my home to my disabled kid. Yeah, i have a psych dr as well for anyone inquiring, but i only know of one way loans will get discharged.
So I’ve had a tough time holding jobs since I was 16 yrs old. Was told at 15 yrs old that I have bipolar depression and for past 35+ years. The longest job I ever held was for 11 months. I was 17 yrs old, I’m 45 yrs old now and about a month in half ago found out not only do I have bipolar but I have bpd. Borderline personality disorder. Life has been rough bouncing job to job living place to living place. I have $10,000 to $15,000 in student loan debts. I’ll never own my own home. I won’t even have any money for retirement, lol. Idk what to do. Disability turns me down because I continue to try and work and succeed
Hi Tate, I am 72 years old, and my monthly income is $ 834 (social security benefit). I have a parent plus loan $159 000 from the Department of Education. Do you think I could file for Bankruptcy?
Just do it. You're 72 what's the point of paying anything at this point in your life. You may not be living for long and why worry when you're this much older
I thought you could not file bankruptcy if I could have I would have years ago when unemployed and stuck in financial forbearance 0 payments but capitalized interested at the time. Avoid scam calls emails!
There is someone on RUclips claiming if you have Navient loans that were originally Sallie Mae you don't have to pay because they don't have the original paperwork. Is that true? I get it might be true in some cases but he made it sound like all of them. Are you licensed in Massachusetts? Thank you for this video it was very helpful.
Sounds like a scam. I am still paying for mine and I have Sallie Mae Navient. It will be easier to get forgiveness and you should also see if your school is eligible because some people get their loans forgiven because the school they went to was fraudulent or sued. You should consolidate the loan/s with the fed. If not you will be eligible for forgiveness after 20 years of min payments
This would explain why they allowed me to refi through Earnest (who I didn’t know was Navient at the time), with garbage credit and yet they still approved me. Which would void that. It’s probably true lol
This was the most comprehensive explanation I’ve come across! Great video!
Thank you for breaking down the process. I understand my options so much better now.
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks again for the info🎉❤

You can file permanent disability discharge. Its NOT tied to SSA. Your dr has to fill out your forms
Can you file bankruptcy on parents plus loans

@nunukopaliani7448 ❤ I pray that you live long and live debt free and feel free soon. Blessings!
YESSSSSS!!!!! FILE ASAP!!!!!
If you consolidate your loan, and go into an IDR plan your payment would be zero.
