Kong was clearly not sedated. I am sorry but a sedated animal doesn't move the way Kong moved during the convoy fight. They only gave him enough sedatives during the start of the journey so that he doesn't go on a rampage. The reason he didn't destroy the boat after the sedatives wore off, was because he knew he was in the middle of the ocean. I mean, what would he have done had he destroyed the ship he was on? Swim back to Skull Island? Also, there's Jia, Kong clearly has a connection with Jia, which would make it two reasons as to why Kong didn't just destroy the boat he was on. As for bringing him in Godzilla's turf, that's how a fight works. By that logic Godzilla fighting Kong on land would have been unfair because Kong has all those buildings to swim around on.
