I remember when I was about 11-12 when my father and uncle would use a 55 gal drum to test their boat engine in the summer, and they also did this maintenance every year too. My father loved to fish, and he was very, very good at it too. He knew every crack and crevice of the waters in Southern Maryland and in Washington DC where he grew up. I always wanted a pontoon, it would be great to crab off of by my pier. However my pier is great, so I will stick with that. Bless, Sheila
+Sheila6325 I have fished since I was about 10 years old and have fished the river we are on since 1958. I catch them when others don't. I have probably caught over 10,000 fish in my life. Your Dad, Uncle and I would have got along great. The biggest boat I have driven was a 72' Sports Fisherman and that became a funny story that I need to tell one day in a video. Fishing has been really bad for 4 years so we have not used the boat at all for 3 years. This is our 4th boat. Bernard
+Craig Arndt We don't like cold weather like we did when we were younger now that we have retired. The summer flew by this year. We use the boat for fishing and the fishing has been bad for the last 4 years so it has sat on the trailer. At 4000 pounds when it is full of fuel (100 gallons) it is a lot of work to clean it up after we put it in just to cruise for a few hours. This boat does get the best gas mileage of any 21' boat of it's type. 3.8 miles per gallon. We use about 2 to 4 gallons on an average fishing trip. The bait cost more than the gas. It will do 47 mph maximum speed on slick water and carrying half the fuel. 32mph at cruise setting of 4200 rpm. Cruise power is recommended for this type boat. Bernard
+Rivet Gardener The young man who climb my trees to cut them down ask me about my boat after the job was finished. He didn't know you needed to winterize you boat and engine and he had just bought a used boat. I tried to explain what he needed to do and he said he wished he could watch me work on my boat. I said I might do a video on what I did and let him know when I put it up. I did a 28 minute video of them cutting down the two trees and he gave me his address on where to send him a copy. I still need to put a shorter version of the tree cutting on RUclips. Thanks! Bernard
Great tutorial ! I have a similar engine to this, mines a 94. Looks the same except for the electric fuel pump. Yours might be fuel injected. Mine has three large carburetors. Just did this job this week. Can't wait till spring when it's time to fire it up again!
Hi I am looking at a 1999 Yamaha 2 stroke with EFI . 400 HOURS OR SO , ON A DORAL 220 BIZIA SPECS SAY IT WEIGHS 2700 . I WAS WONDERING WHAT KIND OF GAL PER HOUR I CAN EXCPECT . ARE ALL THE 1999 EFI , AND IS 400 HOURS ALOT OF HOURS FOR A 2 stroke , I cant even find much info on the boat but hear its Canadian made and a great boat but its all frpm 1999 at 4500 BUX fronm a marina , so it seems if the compression and hull are all good I cant go wrong also
I have seen on other videos that keeping the fuel in the tank is preferred as long as it is treated. Is that ok to do? So did you just fog the carb and spark plug holes? Do you use antifreeze?

It is a 199921 foot cobia.
Do you just keep spraying in each hole until it dies?
What kind of fitting did you use on the gas tank? Where did you buy it? Thread size?
