Guys, I'm so f-cking tired of this video being shared in Facebook groups with my name being smeared all across the platforms because of a few people who go out of their way to misconstrue what is the objective truth:
This video was REQUESTED BY INSIDER. I never went to them, they came to me.
It is my second EVER restoration.
NEVER did I claim I was a restorer, any titles Insider chose to give me were out of my control the minute I signed a waiver.
RESTORATION in the title, in this case, is simply a way to try and get even the smallest fraction of views that Insider is making off the video I've provided for them. I know this is an OOAK, I am not an idiot.
If it makes you feel any better, I only made 9£ off this video. 50£+ of which went into purchasing this doll and all the materials needed for this video beforehand (which I got no compensation for)
I had a time frame of about 12 days to complete this video while maintaining a job and a family, rest assured that I know A LOT of things are wrong/incomplete, and I will, in fact, go back and remake this video properly in my own time, with the added knowledge that I have now of proper restorations.
Why I chose to give content to Insider is, quite frankly, none of your business, and if you'd been trying to make your RUclips channel take off despite content farms dominating the platform, you'd understand where I'm coming from.
People try to paint this picture that I'm somehow claiming I'm the authority on doll restorations when all I've done is give free content to a bigger channel in exchange for some exposure. I know all of this may come across as me being an as-hole right now, but I'm not. I'm a good guy and I'm only trying to learn. The only difference is that I'm doing it publicly, while everyone else can boast their successes and keep their failures to themselves. I didn't have that.
I’m sorry people are attacking you
I just enjoy your videos and narration . It inspires me to do more on my own OOAK Barbie’s .
You did a great job.
I honestly don't know why this video would cause such a fuzz, i loved the finished product and it made me feel very relaxed, also laughed at the mummified Barbie, i know this post is old but who cares what some random people say on the internet? you did a great job and whoever criticized you should toss their hat in the ring.
I’m so sorry to read this! 😢 I’m watching your vid again, which I frequently do with your vids. I think that both you and your work are amazing! Your talent speaks for itself!

I love your posts I have this particular black haired doll in the same condition ( mine is also needs to be rebodied as she was on a twist and turn waist I don't reboot and her hair was cut short I saw a few people redo or receive this doll in pretty well the same shape One lady did get one in good shape but she complained because the doll had the bald spot but she wasn't aware the bald spots are common with the ponytail Yoou are extremely talented DDW But what I really want to thank you for is your post on restoring your blonde Midge I am in the process of making over our childhood Brunette flip Midge She needs a complete facial makeover I had trouble setting her hair ( I did it 3 times with organic non-dye fabric softener I got from the health food store ❤ I am going to refer to your site Happy New Year and Greetings and love from all your friends in Toronto 🇨🇦

So satisfying! She looks amazing too. She looks more vintage than your average swirl after the makeover. I love it. I can't believe you even filled in her hair.

Just watched your video on snapchat. Great work!
Thank you so much! ❤️
She’s suppose to be bald in the middle of her head.. Mattel created all of their ponytails that way.
I know :) and had you watched the video you would know I knew as well.
-Thanks for your lovely work i discover your work for You collab with insider AMAZING 😱🤩🌈
Thank you! ☺️
it's beautiful!
Thanks to you i think i have a chance to save my doll's face! I replaced her hair with blonde hair and now her face has turned yellow in many parts. I will try to use soft pastels too. Do you have any recommendations on the brand of soft pastels? In my language (in Italian) there are no soft pastels "without primer" (maybe their definition is different)
Thank you very much, and again, great job!
She’s beautiful, I’ve never used foil when curling hair, does it really make a difference?
Yes, it protects the hair from getting wet and being weighted down
Wow
saw this on a snapchat reel
I wanted to ask you, with the pastel sticks that you shaved and then applied, will the color shavings stay on the plastic face or eventually rub off?
It does rub off eventually..
I have a question for Doe Deer Wonderland, or anyone else who knows the answer: Obviously Ponytail Swirl was only rooted along the hairline, leaving the rest of the scalp bald. What about the original Ponytail Barbie? Barbie nr 1 with the curly bangs? Was she hiding a bald scalp as well? Please let me know. Have been wondering this FOREVER. Thank you
Yeah, to my knowledge all ponytail Barbies had bald scalps and were only rooted along the hairline
❤
❤️
If my vantage Barbie’s vinyl head is all dried up is there a way to fix that ?
Did you use a sealant on the doll to protect the soft pastels ? What is the name of the sealant if you did use one ? I noticed you used a sealant on the lips what did you use ? Thank-you great video i really enjoy what you did and gave me great encouragement for me to do this !
To be completely honest I was kinda pressed for time, so the soft pastels were a quick fix, I didn't seal them because I will go back in the future and properly fix the discoloration. (I'll make a video about it) 👀 As for the lips, I sealed them using undiluted Vallejo matte varnish (it leaves a satin finish that's closer to the factory paint finish) Thank you btw ☺️
Love it! What I've been doing is 'refreshing' Skipper dolls. :) Love the technique with the soft pastels, I'll need to try that! What brand of semi-gloss varnish do you use? I'm always looking for one that has that factory paint look.
Thank you 🙏 it's Vallejo matte varnish actually! If undiluted, it gives off a subtle sheen, very similar to factory varnish, as opposed to the glassy finish other varnishes have, hope this helped!
@@DoeDeerWonderland Oh awesome! Thank you. :)
Thanks for all the great tips. I think I ruined a tnt mod barbie by using remove zit on her green ear. It took almost all the color out of her face. I was sooo disappointed and was wondering if you have any advice.
By soft pastels, do you mean some kind of chalk?
Unfortunately mod era dolls will do that. i recommend using a marker to fill in the spot. I know Chartpak makes a color called pale flesh which is very close.
Yeah, chalk pastels. I wouldn't recommend using them though. I've only used them for this project because I was in a huge time crunch to release the video 😅
@@DoeDeerWonderland thanks, I'm going to give that a try, I ordered the marker. I don't think I could make it any worse lol
I’m here from Snapchat 😮💖
Welcome! 😄
Asmr and doll restoration. Insider knows what people want. Glad I came.
Before : every mom to a kid under 4.
After : before we had kids 😅
Oh my god 😂😭
This dolls face & hairline reminds me of Sid Phillips. (The bad kid from Toy Story)
I found u on snap art insider I think and once u said RUclips I came straight here bc I HATE Snapchat adds there’s too many
😂 welcome!
What is the tool you use at 6:10?
You mean the paintbrush?
@@DoeDeerWonderland Yes. Is there a specific name for that type of paintbrush?
It's just a tiny detail brush, you should find them on Amazon or sometimes nail supply stores carry them 😄
Came from snap
Barbies were intended for children to play with, not for creepy collectors to ogle
Very compelling argument! Unfortunately, your mom.
