They released some 200 original songs in their 8 years and they’re all different. They don’t check one box (or have one bag, as they say.) They encompassed so many different genres and even created their own. 💙

Couldn't agree more. They went from heavy metal (Helter Skelter) to country (or at least Rockabilly - like Rocky Raccon, and others), to psychedilic, to 50's style, an I could go on. Maybe they were so good because all four of them could be the front man. We always think about Paul and John, but George and Ringo could have been front men for their own groups --- oh yah, by the way, they did.

This is one of the Beatles heaviest songs. It is actually inspired by a roller-coaster or a ferris wheel. The Beatles changed and progressed through the years.
All of their music was considered revolutionary.
    Check out

    Tomorrow never knows
Most songs were written by Lennon and McCartney but
George Harrison also wrote some songs as well. It was Ringo at the end of the song saying he had blisters on his fingers. He was beating those drums on this song like they owed him money. Lol

@Debbie Plato, this is not inspired by a roller coaster or a ferris wheel. Helter Skelter is actually the NAME of another amusement park "ride" in England that is a SLIDE encircles a cone shaped structure, much like a lighthouse,....thus the opening lyric, "When I get to the bottom I go back to the TOP of the SLIDE , where I stop and I turn and I GO for a RIDE till I get to the BOTTOM, and I see you again..." Go on line and type in "Photo of HELTER SKELTER British Amusement Park Ride" and you can see what it looks like. 😊

Helter Skelter is a British multilevel fairground slide. The center of the slide is a cylinder shaped structure. It is entered in the middle of the cylinder and you walk up steps to the top. You exit the cylinder through a door opening. Then you sit down on the slide and away you go. . The slide corkscrews down and around the outside of the cylinder structure. "When I get to the bottom I go back to the top of the slide.Where I stop and I turn and I go for a ride . Then I get to the bottom and I see you again. I hope this helps P R. Regards, RNB

It's like somebody said "Imagine if the Beatles had done a heavy metal song..." and then the Beatles grabbed a time machine, jumped back, and went "What? Nah, it was there all along. What do you mean you'd never heard it before RUclips?"

This is considered the first heavy metal song. You cannot put the Beatles in a box, they do many styles of music. You really should start at the beginning and listen to all albums and singles (many were not included on the albums) to get a sense of how they evolved. Also, Paul McCartney does not write all the Beatles songs. Many are collaborations between John and Paul. Some are either written by John or Paul, but all songs either one did is credited Lennon/McCartney. George Harrison has also written many great songs.

Beautiful insight. Dylan & Beatles songs did some weird things to some people in those days, this song more than most. Chaos, like you say ~ in the Beatles’ hands chaos was beautiful. Others, not so much. Me, it sounds better than the last time I heard it. 🙏🏽

Paul is certainly a powerfully productive songwriter, and certainly did write many of the Beatles songs. One of his best is "Penny Lane". Gorgeous bit of songwriting about Paul's childhood, this would be countered by John's childhood song, "Strawberry Fields Forever". For John, Strawberry Field was an orphanage that the boyhood John Lennon would go to watch, wishing he could play with the orphans he watched outside. The both of them were great talents individually and then together.

Okay it looks like nobody else is really filled you in on the story of this song. So here goes. Peter Townsend of The Who told a reporter that they had just written the heaviest heaviest song ever. Well Paul McCartney's ears picked up. The Beatles said oh yeah and this is the result. It is said to be the birth of heavy metal music.
