Russ the pipeline station was a "pig-in trap." A plunger with steel bristles (pig) is inserted into the pipe. The sides of the pipe are scrubbed by the brushes and the plunger pushes condensation down the line where it passes through a separator tower. The gas continues down the line and the liquid goes to a holding tank for disposal. El Paso Energy probably owns the line. The gas comes from the Permian Basin then transported via the pipeline to San Diego and Bakersfield. There is a parallel line which you have featured crossing the Colorado River at Topock AZ. This gas comes from Farmington NM then goes to Bakersfield where the Ag industry uses the natural gas for processing fruits and veges. A funny story regarding the building of the pipeline through the Yuma area in the 1950 ' s. EPNG hired locals to work digging and welding thinking they could handle the 110 degree heat. The natives did well until 4pm when they started drop over from the heat. When the workers recovered the foreman quipped that we thought you guys would be tougher than us Texans. They rejoined, we are not tougher, but smarter because we install lights on our tractors to work at night, not in the 110 - 120 degree heat! How do I know so much. My dad worked 30 years for the company. Once a month we rode down the pipeline roads looking for leaks. He called it: riding the line. My job was to open the gates as we crossed the various ranches in the Pecos River country. What a fun job. Thanks enjoy your videos on the AZ area.

What a great trail ride to end 2021. Enjoyed drone footage of the hills. Looking forward to the shows and how busy the BLM's get. Wonder how it feels like to have "chilly" weather in the desert. Russ you had a great travel season in 2021, hope 2022 works out for you. Thank you!
People have a hard time grasping that the desert gets cold. I lived in Tucson back in 1974 and in February if I forgot to bring in a pail of water at night, by morning there was a film of ice on top. When I camped out there, would make a jug of powdered milk at night and leave it out so I had cold milk for breakfast and coffee.

Great video Russ! Interesting tidbit about that gas line road is it goes all the way into Phoenix. If i remember right it comes out at Baseline rd. I was involved with mapping the one that ran from Bullhead to Vegas. What a walk/drive. East of Quartzsite there's a lot to see on it also. Happy New Year.....Peace.

So with all that free camping and people staying put for 2 weeks at a time, where's everyone dumping their black ( think sewage ) tanks and porta potties? It's a long haul to town...We've seen a lot of left trash, broken glass, bullet casings, and shotgun shells in dispersed camping spots. Hope your area has more tidy campers...

I should posted this to last video you made. What you do with that Jackery 1500? You don't need that propane heater. Get your electric heater and do real test on that Jackery as you drive around. Solar panel in back, spare gas can you'll go all day. And pants that be easy!

Just want to say I love your videos we're trying to move to the Head City going to be there on the 17th through the 21st looking for a place and how happy New Year we're both blind so I don't know if we'll be able to find a place in 34 days but we're going to try we're going to be staying at the Edgewater hotel and casino and then go back to Vegas and fly back to Austin Texas
