I do notice that the forward velocity decreases as it travels, so at the very least it seems like they model the air to create drag. Do they model it to aerodynamically deflect objects depending on the object's orientation? Maybe that can be another test.
Wacky you should wait a few seconds after planting the c4 under the back of the car, then attach a second c4 onto the back of the van so its a second explosion to propel you forward in mid air (like a booster)
imagine if that's an actual game and you hit someone with a Flying Van.. an the player that got hit by the VAN would be so confuse "What the hell Happened?"

Theres actually a glitch at the training room. You can definately try on urself at sandbox mode. To make this happen, you need a driver on a mini bus, running over you very slowly while you being prone. See what happens.
The graphics card is not taking the bulk hit here. The CPU is. This explosion is a more intense physics based simulation. Therefore the bulk of the work would be on the component that manages math calculations coded into PUBG physics system. Van curve seems to have GTA style physics. Imagine an arrow pointing straight down from the center of the engine (to help simulate engine weight) the van might be slightly going in that direction as it flies around. it does crazy things when you travel that far.
The centre of gravity of the van is in the correct projectile trajectory. The curving is an illusion because the POV is not about the centre of gravity
i dont know if you vould read this . but i think the reason why it tilt might be due tp the character weight since you sit on the side and not the center of the bus
I think you turning left and right in the van was because you were also seated. It curved right when you were in right seat. And curved left when the van turned upside down. Then you would be on the left as it becomes upside down, mid-air.
If you want a better launch place all the gas cans in the exact same spot and then line up your vehicle to either launch straight up by putting the cans in the center or launch forward by putting it in the rear about 75-80% back.
@11:16 you forgot to consider the Corriolis Effect,taking effect on the trajectory of your van,not to mention the wind direction & Speed,(If those exists in the PC Version)

The direction curve in the air was happening because you were seating inside the van.

Air resistance is why it curved.
Also, you should try putting a c4 on it right before it explodes so you get a secondary detionation mid air
