Thanks so much Jan. It was a difficult choice, especially when it requires shutting down my super granulating-obsessed neurons (temporarily!). But I can’t wait to get out and give them a second whirl.
Have gone through my Schminke pallet and by good luck have all your colours in it. I’m seeing this as a sign 😂😂 edited to add that I absolutely loved your sketch. I particularly love the way you painted the cake domes.
What a lovely artwork (as always) and nice selection of colours! As I use Schmincke's Aureolin Hue myself as the main yellow on my palette I just like to add that you probably needn't be afraid to use it with regards to greying over time: This seems mainly to be a problem with the "original" Aureolin pigment PY 40. The one Schmincke uses is PY 151. This one has a reliable lightfastness rating. All the best and keep up the great work! :-) Anne
Thanks for that Anne, I shall have to demote my mother as the expert! 😂 (She read it somewhere and we thought it was better to err on the side of caution…I’ll tell her we’re safe though!)
Your work is beautiful! Schmincke Aureolin Hue is not the original Aureolin (PY40) a cobalt yellow , that changes over time. The word Hue behind the name implies that its a mimic of the hue. Schmincke Aureolin Hue, is (PY151)Benzimidazolone yellow. Its extremely permanent! If your Lemon Yellow is (PY3) a Hansa pigment, you have a cool yellow that's actually only marginally lightfast. Yes, Im a pigment nerd who loves the science behind the color. Blessings and congratulations.
Thanks Renee! Lucky for me I have erred on the side of caution! You’ll be interested to hear I’ve been today they won’t do Cerulean Blue hue…apparently it’s dangerous now!
Well done, are these your final choices, and have they come out with the set yet?I hope they call it Roisins Urban sketching set with a picture you painted on the box.You didn’t pick a warm red is there a reason for that how would make a warm red?
It’ll be called something like that, yes. And yes they’re my final choices. I am a little unconventional as you know but you can mix orange and magenta to get a lovely hot red! And yes it will have my painting on the box!
When I first heard you say Aureolin I gasped and was relieved when you said your Mum convinced you on lemon yellow instead 😅😆 Great sketch and a lovely selection of colours-I need that quin red and cerulean! May I know what fude fountain pen you’re using here? Thank you for sharing!
True Aureolin, PY40, goes brown. Schmincke's Aureoline is a hue, PY151, and it's lightfast. Ceruluean hue is phthalocyanine with white in it, not my favourite. I would either try the Prussian blue (darker and more exciting) or the Cobalt Azure - that does granulate but I love it. I've never tried the Sap green from Schmincke, but I like the May green. And for a blue-grey I would prefer the Indigo as it's much more dynamic, or one of their PB60s, the Delft blue (bluer) or the Dark blue (greyer). But then I like blue... Always interesting to see what choices people make 🙂
Thank you! I used to be a total Indigo fiend. As for the cerulean, rather than concern myself with what’s in it, I go by how it behaves in a mix. I’m not mad about Prussian Blue really, although I know it’s popular. I am disappointed with cobalts! In another set I curated for a manufacturer, Roman Szmal, I chose Phthalo Blue as my bright blue. I used to love May Green but I guess we evolve - and no doubt I’ll evolve away from this palette! Honestly, I change my mind all the time…but there are colours I keep coming back to.
@@ultramarinetoo …I have it in my palette because I think I should have it, but it lies there unused… That’s why I’m thinking I should try another similar colour!
We were in Dublin a few days ago and wandered past Universal and your kit was my treat to myself. Loving it!
That’s terrific Robert! I hope the colours meet all your needs!
Thank the heavens you chose a burnt sienna !
@@UJB123 so funny you say that, I thought it would be indispensable but it’s my least-used colour! That and ultramarine are barely touched!
Starting to save as we speak. Not that I need any more paint really but I’ll use it all up eventually. And I can’t resist such a cracking choice.

Thank you Geraldine! And imagine you have all the colours…
beautiful sketch, and thanks for keeping us in the loop about the palette.. Nora kag , here 😊😊👍👍
Thanks Nora! I believe it’s going to be available soon.

Yes the quin red is good. Cerulean is being swapped for helio Cerulean , something about the former being dangerous!

I was so excited for Delft Blue when I first came across it - perhaps I should swap out the Ultramarine Finest for it. Thanks for reminding me!
@@roisincure Oh, noooo! Not the Ultramarine! OK, I'll admit I'm biased😉

Red, Yellow, Blue - Warm. Ditto - Cool. My 6 done!
Go for it! 😂
whoops, I forgot to ask, what's the background music?
This is so pretty awesome work inspiring stuff
Thanks 🤩
Great choices! Loved the sketch, too. 😀
Thank you Christie 😘
For order/purchase purposes, what will be the name given to this Schmincke set?
I think it’s going to be the Urban Sketching Set by Róisín Curé but I’ll be sure to post the link when it’s available.
Wow ⚡️ 👌 This is awesome 👍🍻☘️😊 So much fun to watch 😎 Learned some ideas on color and creating a pallette
Thank you Mark, a lot of thought went into it…have to do more trialling though 🤩
Love this demo. Interesting choices.
Thank you very much Susan!
Lovely!
Thank you!
