There are some cute little bookshops in Moscow I love visiting :) I remember one in particular - it was small and underground but it felt very cozy in there, I remember that one of Erich Remarque's (one of my favourite authors) books caught my attention but I believe I bought it somewhere else since I own it with a different cover... I returned home from a trip to my parents' home place that day and was tired, so some things slipped my mind :D
I have visited in Shakespeare & Company but I really didn't realize back then that it is as famous as it apparently is. It was wonderful, of course, and I'm so glad that a friend of mine gave us the idea of going there! Nice video :)
I met Tiffany McDaniel once at a book festival here in Ohio so now I really want to read Betty; I had already wanted to read it but I didn't know it was about her mom. The part of Ohio I live in is part of the Appalachian Mountains which runs through many states but it's not just a geological formation, it's also a culture. Many people were coal miners, many were very poor, considered here what we call "hicks" or "hillbillies." I don't know the proper word in Europe for somebody who is not cultured because they live in the country and they are poor. But that's exactly the kind of community where I grew up. So it's been weird for me to see this book be so popular with European booktubers because I just didn't think anyone would be interested in Appalachian culture who was not from the US. It's kind of cool actually that people abroad are reading it. It's not a part of American culture that ends up in many books or movies, but it involves a massive part of America. Google a map of the Appalachians and see how large of an area it is.

I had a great time, thank you! We just went shopping and had lots of food haha, that was pretty much it. I’m doing f very well, and I hope you are too 😘 I’m not studying anymore! I’ve graduated and I’m now busy with job hunting haha. Well you have to have a negative test or be fully vaccinated to travel, so I’d say it’s pretty safe. Here in the Netherlands things are alright! Thank you lovely ❤️

Also - the American cover of Betty is actually a stylized image of a mountain range that that's why, because of the Appalachians.
