Cheer up Sis! You do everything to make them babies happy! I'm sure it is hard for Dejah. First year in high school, new state,I really thought it would be harder for Yanna since she's a senior, but Dejah is smart, cute, and funny so its hard to tell she's sad,we just see a fun time from you guys! Maybe spend some one on one time to talk, lunch, walk together with out the camera just you two to see how Dejah is feeling ,and what can be done to help! I just did the same with my 7th grader, and decided to enroll her in a online charter school. Like you JaVonne I want what's best, and to see my baby happy! I don't know if that's what right for you but you are close with your girls,so I'm sure you'll be able to sort things out because home is wherever your family is ,and yours is a beautiful one! You are doing a great job never doubt it! Dejah, you're a talented pretty, smart young woman!! You are also strong black woman in training, some days are harder than others but never forget that YOU ARE BLESSED, to have both of your parents alive, and healthy sisters, and brothers who love you, family is sooo important!! You have a pretty home, clothes, your own room, a highly successful channel, you are a self made business woman already, what in the world should you be sad about? Baby girl get up, look in the mirror, and tell GOD THANK YOU FATHER FOR EVERYTHING, cause he hook you up girl! be blessed family, see you on the next one!

She may have all that but just because you have everything and are blessed doesnt mean you cant be depressed.. People need to realise depression is a real thing.

    • @bealoved6550

I didn't at any point say that depression wasn't real! I went by what her Mom said that she didn't feel that's what is was! Im 41 years of age and seen a lot! I know mental illness is A REAL THING! In this blog here, Javonne said she"didn't didn't feel it was depression" so she must don't display signs of it! She seems to be homesick! And like I said its a lot on a girl if her age to have so many changes at such a crucial time in her life! I also mentioned maybe she should spend aome alone time with her daughter to get to the bottom of it! Im not a psychiatrist, just a mother of a teen girl who going through a lot worse than Dejah seems to be! I know a lot about depression, seen it right in my face! I just wanted to give a fellow parent some support if you don't mind!

Hi, I’m a silent watcher I’ve been here from the very beginning and I’ve been watching Dejah for the longest! Seeing the process of you and your family’s move was very draining and exciting. Well, that’s what I got from the vlogs. I have noticed a difference in Dejah since the move (Yes I’m aware we don’t know what happens off camera). But I just want to say depression doesn’t mean you have to droop around and frown and never want to socialize all the time. Believe me, my older sister has Depression and she definitely has mood swings. She can go from this happy bubbly person to sad and closed off real quick. So I’d just try to keep that in mind with Dejah. I’m not saying she is depressed, but depression isn’t always noticeable. Not only that, moving is a VERY hard process especially when you’ve lived somewhere your entire life and you have to readjust. You are such an amazing mom and you are so open with your children and you talk to them so I’m sure Dejah will be okay I’d just try to stay more aware with her actions❤️

personally, I think you should take what dejah said about her being depressed more seriously. Just watching her tell her side of the story, you could see her eyes tearing up. That should be an indicator itself that something is going on instead of just writing it off as she's just being dramatic.

simon freela that’s what I said and she said you can see dejah haven’t been depressed well some of us are good with hiding it..I’m sorry, not trying to pull the race card but everytime I see a African American female say she’s depressed she gets called dramatic 🤔

Miss Bando I know you commented about this a year ago the reason behind that is black woman ( dark skin woman specifically) are depicted as strong (physically and mentally), independent so when we show any signs of “weakness” depression, suicidal tendencies, sadness ( negative emotions in general) we are told were being dramatic and to get over it because its not serious and or it’s all in our head. I hope this answered your question

You gotta realize that you’ve spent the last half of your life, living and breathing to make sure that these 5 humans were happy... and you decide to do one thing that will make you happy. it’s ok to do stuff for yourself. It doesn’t make you selfish, or a bad mom. it is probably really hard for deja to adjust rn but Florida is probably where she’ll go to college, meet some of her best friends, and even marry. She’ll then be so thankful that you made the wonderful decision you did.
Suggest that you read Jeremiah 29:11
With deja. It may encourage her and reassure her that god has it all worked out. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

They Thank me all the time now for moving it's hard in the beginning but it will get better they are all grown now and have really good careers. She will be fine it's Still new. I think leaving ohio was a good move because I'm from their if you want better we sometimes have to make those hard decisions for our children. I Thank God daily for my 2 grown adult sons not sure i would have had this turn out if i hadn't left. Don't feel guilty you are an awesome Mom and want what's best for them. 🙏

Javonne with all due respect Dejah could be depressed. I am vary similar to dejah. Last year a big sudden environment change happened to me and I became so depressed missing people. But I never showed how sad I was to anyone my family thought I was happy and didn’t see any big emotion change. But I would cry out of no where when I was alone. And was unhappy.

Homeschooling has its negatives and positives.
Negatives: No social interaction, harder to get into colleges without any extra curricular like sports or band, and also a parent has to take out a lot of time to help the child with it and Javoone has to worry about her youtube channel too,
Positives:No teachers to nag at you
I think the negatives out weights the positives, trust me I know a bad teacher when I see one in on my second year at university but you just have to learn to deal with it because at the end of the day we will not always be comfortable in situations. My mother always told me to look at it as you will never have to take that teacher again once you finish. I hope all goes well for Dejah because freshman year can be a stressful time, And good luck to you in homeschooling. Sorry for the essay lol.

    • @laikahmom
      @laikahmom 5 лет назад +10

@@chuyh5247 not all homeschooling is like that re your negatives. My two children homeschool. It's online and i don't have to spend time with them. They have access to their teacher if they need help. No social interaction? My kids go sailing. There's also many other classes such as swimming, tennis, golf, basketball AND SO MUCH MORE that the children can do during school hours or after school as extracurricular.

Maybe just have that talk just you and her just to be sure to absolutely rule it out. I pray for the best for her, you and your lovely family. Continued Blessings.🙏💕

Ja'Vonne. Thanks for sharing, this video with us. As a parent, myself. Every parent/parent's know their child. Am glad you are not in denial, what the Teacher said. As a Teacher myself. I been teaching for 30 plus year's. Started teaching in my early Twenties. I love what I do, and some of the student's in my class, talk to much, and some have attitudes. So am glad, you listen to both sides. Again as a parent/parent's we all want the very best for our children. You, and your husband are doing a wonderful job. The children have a beautiful home. Thanks again.

I know you love your kids and would do anything for them. Dejah is a teen and is going through things teens go through. Sure, moving is stressful and I know she misses her friends but I truly believe she would have ups and downs in Ohio as well. I know you and Cleveland will always be there for all of your kids and give them the support and encouragement they need. And I know your kids know how much they are loved. Dejah is going through an adjustment but life is full of those and she will be fine. 💜

Even though Dejah doesn’t look so seem depressed when she’s around you it doesn’t mean she’s not feeling depressed. Someone could seem like the happiest person in the world on the outside but end up being the ones to commit suicide. Now I’m not saying it’s that extreme for Dejah but I dont think you should just write it off as her being dramatic. Try to get her to open up because most times the person is too afraid to say something.

awww poor dejah :( i 100% believe her and i know how she feels. i moved when i was 11 and i loved the city i lived so much, but i had to move because the schools were better there. i never wanted to go because i missed my friends so much, it's so much harder here because everyone is white and it's extremely hard since there's so much racism in my city. i luckily found great people there still, and I've lived here for almost four years now. i used to think that i was depressed as well once i moved to my new school, but i was beng dramatic. i really hope dejah gets better because i understand how she's feeling so much, i used to cry a lot because i hated my school so much, but i'm a freshman now like dejah and the high school i'm in now is much better than the middle school, and i became more confident and i feel like i can finally find my place now. love you javonne and dejah

Jalyn Barber I was speaking on the generalization of what depression looks like, saying you know what depression looks like is completely false because I know people who are very outgoing and you would never know that they are depressed. I seen that she said she wasn’t depressed so my comment wasn’t in reference to Dejah, and I live with depression and no ones know that I have been diagnosed with depression.

We were all upset about it, and originally my cousins hated the new adjustments but about a year or two in, they began to love California! I suggest a one one with Dejah and figuring out how she’s feeling and what it is she wants.

    Hi Javonne,
I'm a mother and grandmother. Mind you Dejah reacted to the fact her teacher called home. So, with that being said she mostly likely was upset about it!
Maybe reacted in that manner to have mercy from punishment. We as parents have to make strong life changes for the benefit and the better good for our family. Sure kids miss there childhood friends when they have to relocate. Kids have to make life adjustments all the time that's how they grow in life. You have a family of seven very loving, warm and well adjusted. That by far speaks volumes and outweighs friends. Dejah has social media and plenty of avenues to continue relationships with her friends. Going to school is not about just being with friends. You cannot let yourself feel like you made a selfish choice to move to Florida. Not to discount what she said or how she feels, but to truly evaluate the entire reason surrounding why she said it. What led to her saying it. Have the conversation with her to elaborate fully how she's feeling. Because not going to school with your friends just shouldn't alone merit depression. Maybe she needs to open up about all of her emotions or problems. She is a beautiful smart young girl. These are her hormonal teens years! You're a wonderful mother! I'm not trying to say disregard what she said.
Just giving caring advice! I lost a child in 2002 he was only 12 years old. If I could have him back I would have so many conversations😔🙏🙏 It will be okay mama...Just keep loving open conversations. Don't pull back on discipline when needed..TFS!

Wow Javonne it's refreshing to see a parent that cares and is concerned about how their kids feel when the adults make life changing decisions like moving... My folks would of just moved us and wouldn't have cared about friends or our adjustment to the new environment...I hope to have the type of understanding and open relationship with my son as he gets older that you have with your kids

I’m 14 and I recently moved to a new school district which means new high school with new people. At first it was really hard and I had a little bit of depression but I didn’t won’t my mom to know so I hid it. Long story short after a few months of being in the new school district I got use to it and my depression slowly left. My momma was just like you, she was scared that she had made the wrong decision but now we all are happy. Dejah is going to be okay, if might take a while but just have patience with her.

My mom did the same thing with us. When I was just starting Middle and my older brother started HS. It was hard at first but we adjusted and we were better off bc of it. Sometimes change is good. It puts everyone in a different perspective. I’m not saying where you were was bad but where we were was and I was so angry for the first year and my older brother was so angry that we left our cousins and friends but we all got over it and we love the South now. I know she’ll be fine. It’ll make your children closer even thought I feel like they are close now. It made a difference bc we experienced way more. 💕 love your family!

Sometimes depression is not that noticeable and sometimes we dont see it in the ones we love the most even though we dont see beyond the camera, i would still talk to her and make sure shes okay. We lose too many from depression and its sad. Just dont want to see dejah or the rest of the family get hurt from misinterpretation. Much love

Dejah has the full potential and personality to really blossom in FL she is such a cool kid, as a substitute teacher tho you really have to watch theses teachers because some of them really there for that check You'd be amazed at how many I've met.. A conference with the 3 or 4(Cleveland) of you would be great. It's the most uneasy feeling ever when your children display unhappiness. You're a great mom I'm sure u will figure it out. I pray Dejah finds her place in her new area. We love u Dej❤️

from elementary to middle school, I moved. So the summer between 6th and 7th, my mom made me go to a middle school in the city we lived in rather than the school I went to, two cities away. It was so hard to adjust, and honestly I never did, and I'm applying for grad schools now. when you transfer to like middle schools and high schools, it's hella hard because friendships are already made and established. and it's difficult to break into those, if you're not that kind of person.
tell dejah to join clubs, as ways to meet people and not think about her old school as much.

I know how Deja’s feeling. When my mom said that we were moving to Mississippi I was not having it. I had moved from my home town were all my friends were (Pennsylvania) then we were back and forth from north and South Carolina. And a lot of things happens between them that had me even more sad and mad. So I really wanted everything to go back to normal. Even tho I have close friends down here and kinda adjusted, I still wish I could go back to Pennsylvania. Even if it’s just to visit.

*Omg Sis I felt the same way when we moved to Nevada from California! I was the only one geared to do this and wished for years to be here! Like it's my Honeymoon state and place I got married! I felt in my heart it was the best move for my family! The move was exciting but only A few of my kids were amped... But then they start missing friends, hard time adapting at new schools, also the school work was more advanced than California! Which in the long run is good but a challenge at first. So it was a few stages we went through! Eventually the kids were poppin with new friends and got the hang of things here. Now they ask me never to move lol. It's a transition stage going through to get to! Hopefully her bestie can visit in the summer and keep praying Im Praying for a Breakthrough spiritually, mentally, physically, and financially for all in your home! New ideas and closeness like never before! I pray the conference helps the teacher understand and Dejah can overcome this short setback swiftly! Cause we know she strive for excellence in school always have always will! Love yall so and when you taking us to the beaches sis. We need a beach tour seeing the beaches of Florida! Hopefully some Pizza will make her Night!! 🍕 🌙*

I use the same container for my oldest sons lunch and he loves it. I know the move was a major move for the family and Dejah’s definitely is homesick and as silly as it sounds I stay homesick because we move every 3 years so we basically have to start over and it definitely takes a toll on my grade school son, he always has this period of acting out but he always bounces back just tell Deja’s to keep her head up and stay resilient. She’ll look back and appreciate the move down the line. We are not claiming depression however I know what it looks like maybe see if you can find some extra activities to keep her busy.

Hey Jay von this is Gloria Gandy I was just saw your video about your daughter Deja coming home and telling her side of the story I’m just letting you know do not let your kids make you feel guilty for moving to Florida that was your decision and they have to learn how to adjust to whatever is going on and I understand I have five children two of them are grown but I’m just letting you know that she’s going to have to learn how to adjust to anything that goes on . It is one of the things that she has it just to for example she’ll be graduating from high school soon as she has said yes to a new environment going to college so at the end of the day she has a lot of adjusting to do in her life so she might as will get used to it now don’t feel bad about it your beautiful mom

The worst thing you could’ve done in this type of situation is dismissing how she was feeling or what she had said..even if you were joking..i went through the same thing with my parents when i came out to them about being depressed and having suicidal thoughts even though my mom got me temporary therapy i never opened up to them again off the simple fact that they dismissed how i felt and laughed because they had the mindset that because i was 18 i had nothing to be sad or uncomfortable about..as a mother the best thing you can and should do is talk to her, listen & figure out how y’all can get through this patch in a positive way.

I know I’m late but when I was 7 or 8 my mom chose to move my two siblings and I out of the south side of Chicago. At the time that was all I knew gunshots, gangs and drugs. I was leaving a place that wasn’t good for me but at the time I didn’t understand that. I was upset to leave something I was used to. It wasn’t until I got to high school that I realized why my mother did what she did. I say all of this because although you may not like where you are at right now just know that God has you there for a reason. Whether it’s to learn a lesson or to set you up for a bright future, God is putting you through this for a GOOD reason. Keep your head up, don’t let your crown tilt. ❤️

I'm a junior in college, from East Cleveland and now live in Virginia since about 8th grade. My entire family is from Ohio and I have absolutely no family here besides my parents and recently my cousin who moved with my parents for grad school. Anyway.. I felt the exact same way as Dejah when we moved. I hated it here. I missed my family. I didnt see why my parents wanted to come here. The reason why, they got government jobs in DC and wanted to escape the crime back home. Long story short I think she will probably be like me. It took me forever to start to appreciate the move and even though I dont plan to stay here after school, I am still grateful for the decision they made, that I couldn't see the benefit in before. I think she'll come around or atleast start to understand. Ps. I love watching yall. Yall remind me of how my family used to act with each other and most days yall videos make me feel a little happier.

It's a big adjustment ... new school - HIGH SCHOOL is a big step ... Dejah has to make new friends. Dejah is a freshman ... by senior year she will look back at all the fun times ... you got this Dejah! Also too many teachers like to put kids into a group. Some teachers can't handle the 'popular' kid. Dejah has a lot of personality and that's why we love her, but some teachers can't handle that. I remember being labeled as 'the talker' ... ugh ... if you are quiet, then people think there is something wrong!!! Don't worry everyone will adjust, it all takes time! STAY IN FLORIDA. Love your vlogs, thanks for keeping us entertained. Are you doing VLOGMAS? Are the kids doing Advent calendars? You make my day with your vlogs. So real. So true to life. Keep doing what you do. Tell Jay he needs to come out his room and be more social with US! LOL How is your brother doing? Did he get into the Navy?
