Absolutely doing this! Thanks! Love the attitude about not wanting to just "police them".

It will change your whole classroom dynamic, and it will help you feel more confident as a teacher...It is difficult to put into place all the time...sometimes you just can't...but it is wonderful when you can! Best of luck!

Always appreciate the videos where you speak about behaviors. Kids are different these days, I love the idea of meeting them where they are.

Thak you so much. Behaviors are the hardest part of this job. They change so much from year to year. Little kids have so many reasons why they act out too, it can be so hard to get to the root of the problems

It is hard to put in practice all the time, but I hope you will find parts of your days to try it out. It changed the energy of the classroom and it was absolutely lovely!

That’s awesome!! I liked your approach! I’ve always noticed that they really get overjoyed during music when you’re smiling and having joy and fun with them. Head Start teacher here with 18 kiddos 3-4 year olds. When we are pretend playing with them vs. policing them things go so much better. And most importantly we feel better too ❤

So true! I feel like we try to keep the waves on the sand...all it does is frustrate us...and I think it makes behavior issues worse. Sometimes I need a gentle reminder that I am here for them, they can be a bit chaotic at times...but when we have fun together...it feels like it just FLOWS! Thank you so much for commenting! We have a tough job...That's why they pay us the big bucks! LOL!

Love this. I have alphabet dots that velcro to the carpet, and they’re in a circle right now. This is where the kids go when I need to reset a crazy room. I use these dots for many things, including musical dots. I play music and when the music stops, they have to sit down on the closest dot. Then I’ll ask “who’s on a blue dot, a red dot” etc. Later in the year as we learn letters, I add those to our circle and we play musical dots to review letters. So great for burning off energy when it’s too hot/ cold/ rainy to go outside.
    Love your videos ❤🎉
