- Welcome to Downtown Nassau Bahamas, and a walking tour to the free beach Junkanoo Beach from the port of Nassau. I am going to give you a walking tour from the Nassau port area and show you some of the highlights of Downtown Nassau including Margaritaville which you can pay to go for the day, and Junkanoo Beach the free beach in Nassau. From the Streets to the Stores and Market and everything in between. Nassau has so much to offer and if you are on a cruise ship and just want to shop, there is no shortage of jewelry and souvenir shops. I was just there in January and was very impressed with the new and improved Nassau. They really needed this. I've been to Junkanoo Beach several times and even that has gotten better.
Oh yes I love the new port. And yes it is REVITALIZED. Wooohooo. 😁😁
I wish more vloggers would showcase some of the individuals like you guys did, now I know I wanna stop at the salty crab lol.

Thanks for the walking tour! 1st cruise and 1st visit to Nassau. Would you suggest junkanoo or a different beach? Looking to relax and snorkel with our kids!

Junkanoo is more adult oriented as alot of bars. And the snorkeling will not be good at junkanoo. Have a great cruise you will love it.
Awesome video. Question do you know if they still rent jet skis on Junkanoo havent been in years.
I'm not sure... seems like alot of boat traffic through there to even attempt it.
Any tips for a single Cruiser going there in may, im not a knicknack shopper and have a whole Beach day in Ocean kay to satisfy my Beach need - i love the color houses so far and def love a walkabout when i travel- but is it safe and any tips to se any other places like the flamingopark?

The first shop that you posted, with the chilled coconuts. Is that located right after you get off the ship? Like the beginning of entering Nassau?
Yes... there is a little market across from the entrance of the cruise ship. That was in the beginning of the video.
Looking to do a little liquor shopping while in Nassau, any tips or recommendations for places near port?
Go one street back called bay street. I know there are a few shops there. Have fun. 🛳🛳😎😎⛱⛱

Will i have enough time to go to the Queens Staircase, straw market and Junkanoo beach. Seems too far apart. Might need to use the taxi...
Just was there yesterday... yes it can be done if you are walkers... I would suggest Straw market then junkanoo then cab to staircase and walk back to the ship... but I have done all three before at a fast pace. Have a great time. 👍👍👍
@@AlongForTheJourney yes i feel its going to be fast pace and that is not what i want 😭 i think the cruise line should extend the time in the spring and summer so we have enough time to do everything and not rush through it.

Blue lagoon has much much more to offer and beautiful. Junkanoo is more if you did everything and just looking for a beach to hang for the day. 👍👍😎😎
We’re going in a few weeks and my only real question for a group with kids, how close are the bathrooms to the beach? 😅
At Junkanoo Beach there are bathrooms right around the bar area and the entrance. Have a great time👍👍

Can one bring their own beach tent to Junkanoo? I have a travel tent I always bring everywhere and want to bring it with me...
Not sure... it's not a big Beach and there are alot of chairs setup

Lol. The dinner is the jerk chicken and rice. And I am not sure they have a name. Lol. Just look for the colorful huts in the video and the smoke. The beach is not big. It's between the sidewalk and beach.

Price is right, but beach looks too busy(for my taste).
