  • Scanned from a Cityrail Employee issued VHS tape from early 1993 detailing the upcoming Automatic Ticketing System, also known as the Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) system, to be introduced across the Sydney railway network.
It is intended to introduce station staff to the upcoming system and educate them on what can be expected with the implementation of it.

What an amazing video! Thanks so much Brett for going through all that work to show us this important part of NSW Railway History! This system was used up until 2016, with almost all the barriers still working to this day (even if they don't really help with fare evasion), give and take a few modifications. There's still remnants of the Automatic Ticketing System in most station offices to this day! I can see that you've uploaded a few more as well, I'll have a look at them now. Keep on going!

Interesting video, I was employed in the booking office at North Sydney, the bookwork was very tedious and repetitive.
