@KM-007 don't forget franchise massage companies like massage envy. They make it incredibly difficult to cancel your membership. It can take months of back and forth and forms to cancel. And even then it could take another 30 days before it is canceled... just so they can charge that one extra charge. Most envys don't even pay their massage therapists well at all.

Can confirm. I work customer support for an online business (not US-based) and the IT team needed time to program, redesign, test, and implement changes when the company had to adapt to GDPR rules. Changing how a website works isn’t instantaneous and it would be unfair of any government to expect that. On-topic for the video: our cancellation processes are easy. 😊 One of them does require emailing us, but we reply to every message within 24 hours and just cancel without arguing with someone wants to cancel. I get a ton of positive reviews for this, which says volumes about other companies making things difficult.
They are in this administration. Beyond that, the antitrust laws need to be strengthened by Congress, which likely can only happen with Harris winning and the Dems controlling both houses.

The difference between both parties is night and day. The democrats NEED to work on messaging. They need to become the party of the working class again.
We generally suck at messaging. We sell issues with logic, which is increasingly ineffective. Republicans sell with gut emotions, like selling consumer products, that are bad for people.

They are the party of the working class, and she has been speaking to that in her rallies. It's part of her stump speech, working class/middle class. It's because of FDR (Democrat) that we have a 40 hour work week. It's because of Clinton (Democrat) we have the FMLA Act, sure it's unpaid but we can't be fired. Now we need paid parental leave which I think is something that should be worked on but neither candidate has discussed.

I have several subscriptions and I started a list so I can track them. I just cancelled some, but yes, it wasn’t all that easy. Way to go, Dems, for supporting the American people.
Brian this is the effectiveness of content like yours. It is one thing to read a description of what the FTC does and what they are working on. However, it is so much more transparent and effective to see and hear directly from these institutional leaders. Keep up the great work and look forward to purchasing your next book.

I hate the subscription model so much. Very clearly a scam.
The companies also prey upon the elderly. I have spent days trying to cancel subscriptions for my mom! She gets information that is confusing and they make it sound Soo great! Then they take money from her account and she's screaming that the amounts are not what they initially tell her. She is 81 years old!
My mother's been scammed a few times, too. She's 78. If hell actually did exist, I would hope there would be a special place for those who prey on the elderly.
Move the money to a new bank and cancel the account.

Can confirm. I work customer support for an online business (not US-based) and the IT team needed time to program, redesign, test, and implement changes when the company had to adapt to GDPR rules. Changing how a website works isn’t instantaneous and it would be unfair of any government to expect that.
On-topic for the video: our cancellation processes are easy. 😊 One of them does require emailing us, but we reply to every message within 24 hours and just cancel without arguing with someone wants to cancel. I get a ton of positive reviews for this, which says volumes about other companies making things difficult.

They are in this administration. Beyond that, the antitrust laws need to be strengthened by Congress, which likely can only happen with Harris winning and the Dems controlling both houses.

I heard a rumor that Lina is going to leave the FTC. What a loss for Americans. I really wish there was some way to keep her. It's been decades since we've had a FTC Chairman that stood up for Americans like she has. Too many who are appointed in this position don't want to 'rock the boat' by taking on large companies, which can piss off the officials who are their campiagn donor recipients.
