@@averysoutdooradventuresllc I used to shoot 70 lbs. all the time. But I put my ego aside and dropped down to the 55lb switch weight on my Lift. I am so much more accurate, and I still got a pass through on a cow elk at 40 yards this past year.
Probs shooting a heavy arrow and clearly only shooting 50 lbs. idk your condition but I’d recommend more draw weight and roughly 5-7 grains of arrow weight per pound draw weight. You’ll get more distance and better speeds. You may know this but just a heads up
@@JustinMussen spot on! Shooting 50lbs for offseason weight / deer only. I go heavier when hunting out west and not in a treestand/bundled up. I use the same arrow for both, but I’m looking at possibly having a lighter arrow for deer when I don’t need to be so “robust”. God bless!
You look just like a guy I shot Rd with at Gooches Mill, if so good to see you. Do you prefer the longer bows, at your draw length the 29.5 or 30 in Hoyt would give you more speed. I’m 28” and have had good luck with bows in the 30 in range, even at longer distances.
I am likely that guy! I just moved from NC to Idaho a few months ago!! I like the long bows because they’re more stable (IMO). I gave up on speed a while ago and more focused on accuracy. I bet I could get a few FPS though with the shorter ATA! God bless and happy holidays!
@ I was considering pulling the trigger on the new Lift X in 55lbs @ 29.5 draw length. Around 435grn arrow. Would probably be around the high 260’s fps
The Garmin is much more compact and doesn’t require a “microphone” for archery! I have had the lab radar for a while and it works fine, but one day I’d love to upgrade!
Great review. But just remember. Kids and women and guys kill elk every year with 45 lb bows and 40 lb bows in some states.
Absolutely!! I still only shoot 60 MAX. Usually between 50 and 58! Thanks for watching 🤘🏻

Let’s go!! I’m in the same boat brother. Passed through a deer at 70 yards with a 26.5” and 55lb draw
How many turns down on limb bolts to get to 50lb on the mathews. Good video.
@@bulletsandbroadheads I believe a turn is about 1-2lbs! I have a 60lb bow so it was only a few to get it down to 50! Thank you for watching!

Awesome, bet there are a lot of hunting opportunities out there. Looks like a fun course to shoot on as well. Happy holidays to you as well.
Great review!
Thanks Len!!! I have some cool shooting comparisons coming up, then we’re full on into the New Year! God bless 🤘🏻
Was that the Lift 33 and the longer Alpha x?
@@josephfolsom2030 yep! Both 33” riser models. I prefer a longer bow because I will use it for target shooting and it’s more stable.
@@averysoutdooradventuresllc what is your draw length?
@ 26.5” and I was shooting 50lb for the video! (Offseason weight)

How does lab radar and gamin compare

@@averysoutdooradventuresllc ok I have the garmin thats why i asked if there was a comparison
You got the better setup!
