Hello, I just want to say I have learned so much since I’ve started watching your videos. I do have a question about Combination Blow combo. Do you always have to dodge, I have just been using the combination blow x3 then dodging to refresh timer and use that punch on something bigger like a captain or ogre. I have done the dodge before and got a kill I thought and didn’t get refunded my ability. Once again thank for your videos keep up the great work looking forward to see what’s’ next
The first 2 min of him being in onslaught my brain was saying “why isn’t he going invis, oh yeah he isn’t wearing cowl. Wait why didn’t he go invis, oh yeah, he isn’t wearing cowl” that build is just forged into my mind lol
The first 2 mins i was thinking "why isn't he taking dmg, why are they not punching back, how are they shooting like storm troopers, oh he took dmg, wait why did that barely slap i thought this was legend"
9:34 Supers ignore servitor immune beams, so i guess that also extends to shreiker shells. I belive it also applies to taken blight domes, phalanx shields, and scorn shields. Basically, everything but boss immune phases.
Assassins cowl with indebted and 1-2 punch kinectic shotty. Use fragment that blinds with special weapons. Spec into finisher special ammo and its ggs. A mix of strong melee build with cc and dmg from indebted kindness
Love this Build. I run similar. Only not as many orbs(Fixing l8r) . - You know the combo. Trust it. Find a weak add, pretend you're a Titan that found shoulder charge, and PLAY AGGREESIVELY. - You're right. Light attack super is for adds, heavy combo is mainly for BIG BOIS. Good vid. Great analysis. Glad you had fun with it also.
I'd like to point out that this build only works: - in very ad heavy environments (such as Onslaught) - with a lot of opportunities to get your super (such as Onslaught) - when you can approach enemies easily because of a massive lack of ranged options (such as Onslaught) - when you don't really need to insta-gib a boss (such as Onslaught) - when you can reliably kill a lot of enemies easily as they are your only source of health (such as Onslaught) The build is pretty good. But that's mostly because Combination Blow and the Arc Hunter aspcet combo is pretty good as it is - to the point where most exotics barely enhance it -, not because Raiden Flux is any good. In fact, by eliminating every other Arc exotic (such as Assassin's, Raspberry, or Liar's), and forcing the heavy weapon and exotic weapon to be Thunderlord which isn't really capable of long-range burst damage, you didn't eliminate the shortcomings of other Combination Blow builds (difficulty building up stacks, survivability, sufficient ranged damage), but further added to those issues. Now, that most of these don't come up in Onslaught, where the only "far away" targets are the Shriekers, weak ads are plentiful for stacks, and most stuff tries to run past you and gib the ADU is one thing, but you'll feel all of these even in a Nightmare Hunt. At the same time, the build "fixes" a number of issues that are not really issues. The super is mostly good for ad-clear and not much else - which the build is already pretty good at with the Jolt, so increasing its duration does basically absolutely nothing beneficial in most content - especially since the damage it does against a single target is still just on par with Gathering Storm. Onslaught is a bit of an outlier in that regard, as no amount of ad-clear is every enough ad-clear. Thunderlord needs you to stand mostly still and shoot headshots to do large amounts of damage. You do not want to do that on THE squishiest subclass in the entire game. And while it is very tempting to go double special, you still kinda need a primary weapon, if only to "prime" ads when you build up stacks, or at the *very least* a secondary that doesn't murder any red bar instantly. You don't want to be punching the same Acolyte fifty times, because with even a slightly larger power gap than here, he's just gonna backhand you and break your neck. So instead of a blinding nade launcher, just use Indebted Kindness or Path of Least Resistance/another trace - might as well run divinity, at least you can fuck up tormentors easily - is very much the play. The only exception might be going up against an Unstop Ogre, but even then you can just jolt & punch first - Lethal Current and your 'nade got you covered there. Or just put on Blinding Nade if you feel the need to. Or just use the Mothkeeper's for you exotic with its reliable - albeit kinda slow - blinding moths. For heavy, you need a heavy GL, a Rocket, or an LFR *at the very least*, otherwise the only thing you'll be throwing at tougher targets at a distance (like Shriekers) is a witty insult, because you are NOT punching them, and you are NOT getting close to them with Arc Staff, and you are NOT staring them down with goddamn Thunderlord for 30 seconds until the gun finally ramps up (which, btw, you can't even reload quickly because you have Gambler's Dodge, not Marksman, so you can't even use it in its ramped up state for that long, so you might as well just use a Hammerhead or Song of Ir Yut and be done with it).
Man somebody giving love to raiden flux..its such a great exotic and if used correctly can be lethal. You can take out . champs and every super doesnt have to do DPS. Its one of my favorite builds
@@loganmills1777 i typically use tempest strike with it since im losing the ability to survive with assassins cowl or liars handshake and play from a distance. which is what you will be doing mostly in GMs
With Strand Titan being somewhat nerfed and Stasis being buffed, I found out that there is a build that can substitute, and depending on how Frost armor works, may actually be better than Strand Titan My build is using the Winter's Guile warlock exotic armor with Vexcalibur Winter's Guile gives you a buff to melee damage after a melee kill, which stacks 5 times, and at 5 stacks, Vexcalibur deals 50k damage per melee. Vexcalibur also gives a Void Overshield when blocking damage For now while we wait for the Final Shape and Frost Armor with stasis, I build into freezing enemies with the coldsnap grenade and getting grenade energy back. However, when the Final Shape releases, if Frost Armor's damage reduction stacks on top of Void Overshields, you can build instead into creating shards to get Frost armor. If all works out in the end, you'll have a glaive melee that deals over 50k damage, a Void Overshield, and damage reduction, which would make this build arguably stronger than any Strand Titan build (except for boss damage) With the right gameplay loop, you can carry in Legend Onslaught, so long as you make sure that you always have a Void Overshield up and you are not meleeing the explosive thralls and shanks
Personally Mactics, you’re by far my favorite when it comes learning new builds and applying them and see how they feel. Your pyrogale build is one of my favorites.
also big thing to note, at 5 intellect is where the newish gains on super are capped out, any further and its just base time reduction only and what i mean is the whole generating super from primary damage and kills etc, but i think it slightly effects the pick up from orbs aswell, not 100% on that mechanic but i do know always always and forever have intelligence at T3 and no lower, otw you actually gain less than default, which is what T3 is no bonus gains, just the normal amount gained from dmging foes
Final warning with facet of balance on hunter with stylish executioner and strand clone also using renewal grasps for my dusk fields and you can fill in the other weapons and aspects because I still don’t have all of them
Are you planning on an overview video of the best builds for each class for the legendary campaign for final shape? Especially for those of us that are coming back from a break.
I swear nobody knows about the 3x heavy handed thing. The amount of orbs it drops is so insane and I have always done this with heavy handed and more people should especially titans
I think something that would be good to consider adding is riskrunner, It works well with melee because whenever you throw your pulse you might get hit by it once or twice triggering the riskrunner perk giving you that resistance. Would really help your survivalbilty
I like liars handshake exotic for the additional melee dmg buff and health regen...though i will say that while fun for normal content, I always find myself in awkward positions in challenging content and my melee buff drops right in front of a champion.....always a 2 second stare at me and i get smacked hard lol
I agree. Raiden Flux has the disadvantage of being completely useless outside of Super. It does nothing to help you charge it like buffed celestial or refund any like shards. Sure the damage from a 1-2 punch shotgun is close to Liars but you don’t get A) the healing which has actually kept me alive while punching a boss/champ in the nuts for a considerable amount of time and more importantly imo B) You don’t get the badass looking follow up punch, Cross Counter. Without liars you just spam the basic ass punch like he’s doing in the video. No thank you. My liars build makes just as many orbs literally the only thing different is the raidens and using arc staff, which meh. If you really wanna run arc staff with raidens for something like onslaught I’d just do a hot swap loadout for super. Not worth sacrificing liars.
Semi recently finally finished shadowkeep on my Hunter to get Assassins Cowl just to have fun with. MAN I never used arc hunter but it’s now one of my favorite subclasses and exotic armors to use. Super powerful and super fun
Mac, you should use your golden tricorn subjunctive for this build. You're pretty much always gonna have golden tricorn active and having 3 arc weapon surge mods would make it even better
To an extent this is the same build made l made last season. Though it was utilizing gathering storm and a couple different items. BUT, when they nerfed the orb drop rates it took a VERY hard hit. It was absolutely invincible. Liars Handshake is a better call with an Assassins swap, or in this this builds case the chest your are using. But trust me on this, because you're not depending on the weapon for kills, an Auto Loading One Two Punch Dead Weight Shotgun from Gambit for its speed... And I ran it in combination with Two Tailed Fox for the synergy and debuf.... Just take a look at it
Gyrfalcons hauberk, echo of vigilance, echo of undermining, echo of harvest, echo of starvation, stylish execution, vanishing step, void wall grenade, strafe jump, marksman’s dodge, mobius quiver, use manticore cos void smg plus gain ammo when firing in the air, edge transit gl with any damage and ammo perk, succession or heritage, distribute stats evenly aim for 70 on 4 so 70 mobility, 70 resilience, 70 strength and 70 discipline ( if possible as fragments take 20 discipline away ) personally I use 60 on 5 stats ( mobility, resilience, strength, discipline and intellect ) so yes I will take my 1000 silver now
I use a version of this build with Liars Handshake with double one two punch shotguns for Gambit. For PVE low end things I use mountain top with sunshot/graviton Lance. For high end activities I like to use Trinity Ghoul.
Looks like a lot of fun to use, and this build will work with a 68 roll Raiden Flux I have been holding on to for what feels like years now. Although at the end it sounds like this might not be the build to run for Final Shape if you're planning to do the campaign on Legendary difficulty. Will still give it a shot. If it doesn't work theres always the Arc or Solar Assassins Cowl builds to fall back on.
i got a pardon our dust roll that i havent crafted like at all yet, but its been pretty handy to have the blinding auto loading with turnabout giving an overshield, very handy
also when you are generating so many orbs, recouperation is better than better already bc you cannot stack that, by mutli mods or orbs gathered at one, where as with a flat heal, on every single orb, the healing is endless and instant
For this build, I would swap out for the disorienting grenades/auto loading/chill clip to keep enemies from scattering as soon as they are disoriented by slowing them or even freezing them for shatter damage On larger enemies so you can run in to get off the melee kills.
I'm actually super happy Onslaught is majority add-clear, because all my favorite, super fun Arc builds are pretty much useless in high-end content. It lets me spam my Wish-Brand Thundercrash titan, my Palpatine warlock, and even my Snakebite hunter.
I pulled out my crafted Brigand's Law yesterday for the first time since the pirate season. Threat Detector + Voltshot. It seemed like voltshot was also getting triggered from enemies that died to my Anarchy traps, and it would even happen in the middle of a magazine while I was actively shooting (instead of only after reloading). I wasn't exactly sober, though, so maybe I just hallucinated it 😵💫
I really want to see a gathering storm build. I love arc a lot and I’m still tweaking a few things. It’s just hard to find the right set up of fragments and weapons to use.
Totally going to try this, because this method is very simple, but highly effective even without assassin's cowl and any time I see another Hunter do this, I still pull my weight and kill anything that is not their priority and enjoy the show when I can. There is also a SIVA look from Krypz if you got the Raiden Flux with that SIVA ornament. There are some good ones and I am using now.
Ok a few things, first the survivability is low but at least something different. Second wish Gwisin Vest would add more super as the Flux and Shards, that way you can use devour would be sweet. And third im thinking to make a build with Triton Vice with Winterbite to use with frost armor an the soon to be buffed shatter dive for the campaign.
One moment, doesn't the new ascention ability consume your class ability? So if combination blow refunds it, that's gonna give you two immediate charges, plus monte carlo and you could spam ascentions for as long as there are adds, and with the new chest piece, that's gonna give you some good damage, or you could use sixth ciotee instead, though that'd only benefit your first attack since I don't think combination blow refunds both.
I'm going to use this build BUT with Liar's Handshake. I feel a bit weak when playing hunter's melee build, but this exotic does counter due to the increased damage and healing.
I missed out on so many raids because I was addicting to using Zhalo Supercell with Mask of the Third Man in Prison of Elders 😂 Today I’m addicted to Arc Warlock with Crown of Tempest
Curious why you don't run Power Preservation over the Heavy Finder. Most of your kills are from abilities, which dont count toward your finder progress. Running Power Preservation gets your allies even MORE orbs
I respect trying something new, and I'll give it a go, but I'm going to have Cowl or Liar's on standby in case it just can't hang in Legend Campaign. I see orb generation as a plus in team play more than solo.
Low key, this is a proper play. Resistance, Amplitude, Feedback and Beacons. Legend of Acrius anyone..... Pardon Our Dust for ALH/Turnabout, Dead Weight for ALH/1/2P and Acrius or MG for range.....
You should always dodge first before starting combination blow. The chain lightning makes it easy to finish off weaker enemies and get the Dodge back immediately. But trying to punch your way to combination 3 and get a kill without chain lightning is a waste
This is definitely close to the build I want to make going into Final Shape but I want to make a true Arc Staff with the Tempest Strike Aspect and even with the exotic it's gonna get with Final Shape, I kinda feel like it isn't as good as Titan's Conceration Build.
Hello I’ve got a build for you that I tripped over I was doing a drip for my titan and was turning it into a taken then using taken weapons this build formed so fast Weapons “until it’s return” with overflow and cascade point “Targeted reaction” With destabilising rounds and outlaw Then for boss damage whisper of the worm or deathbringer form ad clear Subclass void sentinel shield Aspects Bastion and controlled Demolition Fragments echo of leeching, echo of instability, echo of domineering and echo of expulsion Abilities rally barricade, strafe lift, shield throw and suppressor grenade Exotic armour is heart of inmost light Mods head x2 harmonic siphon and then hands on Arms heavy handed and font of focus Chest charged up, harmonic reserves and harmonic resistance Legs void surge x2 recuperation Class item time dilation, powerful attraction and bomber Spec for ability uses then when all abilities are on cool down unsated hunger trait will kick in on the taken guns have fun just like I did 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Iirc ammo scouts only work with weapon kills. On an ability focused build it seems kinda weak. Wouldn’t the “increased super from melee kills” mod be better? To double down on super regen from the dodge/punch combo? Heavy ammo is cool, but if your super is up more often, who needs a heavy weapon
Given the focus on your melee ability (literally called it the build's "primary weapon"), can we get more rationale on why you're running Raiden Flux and speccing into your super, rather than something like Liar's Handshake? Like what are the benefits of this set-up over an all-out melee focused one?
I feel like recuperation over better already would be optimal since better already’s healing is stopped the second you take damage and this build relies on being in the middle of the ads
seems like the shotgun is just a forced pick for the 1-2 punch... ikelos smg would slap on this build with more arc or riskrunner for the DR in places where your getting hit wtih arc damage
what would this build be like if you used star eater scales with gathering storm instead for a higher dps setup? youre already making a bunch of orbs anyways so i bet this would be just as good if not better
Why not run hands on instead of the ammo finder? Since you don’t have a primary weapon, it probably won’t have much use, and I think being able to get your super even faster would help more.
It's great, but i'm so used to staying alive thanks to Liar's Handshake that i'd probably die a lot with this. Could i like drop an arc mod on the legs and slap a regen/better already maybe? Idk how exactly how much dmg a third of those arc mod adds up? With all those orbs you'd be getting healed pretty consistent. After each kill basically.
I think you get prismatic early in the campaign, and the arc super for hunter is not arc staff. You probably don’t HAVE to use prismatic but raiden flux seems limiting with it.
whoa what is thi sbuild gonna be, yo ive been hunting an encounter to use the reflection exotic, on maybe an ogre encounter, and i think if you paired it with a phoenix cradle titan where both the titan and hunter on the same sun spot, so the hunters exotic reduces or removes the blocking cost, then the sun spot with sol invictus will remove the passive drain from super...im THINKING that unlimited blocking...and i think the titan can sustain the sunspot
It’s worth noting that this build will be nerfed at some point in the Final Shape. When you have combination blow procced all melees count as powered melees, meaning they generate orbs. Bungie plans to remove this
I can’t believe they still haven’t made it so the aftershock from lethal current procs combination blow. It’s been the biggest thing holding back these melee builds since day 1. Nothing worse than the melee not killing on initial blow only for the aftershock to then clear the entire room and you don’t refresh the counter and get a stack. Sucks big time
Since fashion is the true endgame, i really dislike raiden flux as it is fugly + i cannot transmog the only arms that match with the siva ornament (s19 armor matches fairly well with the right shaders).

also when you are generating so many orbs, recouperation is better than better already bc you cannot stack that, by mutli mods or orbs gathered at one, where as with a flat heal, on every single orb, the healing is endless and instant
It lets me spam my Wish-Brand Thundercrash titan, my Palpatine warlock, and even my Snakebite hunter.
i feel like rocking a power preservation mod wouldve been a gamechanger to this build
The fact that it’s raiden flux makes my heart happy, it’s my favourite exotic.
Prbly the best thing is have to builds, lair hand and then swap to raidenflux. So this way you can get combination blow going untill super
I wasn't exactly sober, though, so maybe I just hallucinated it 😵💫
This seems like the kind of build that will shine even brighter with a Prismatic setup.
I really want to see a gathering storm build. I love arc a lot and I’m still tweaking a few things. It’s just hard to find the right set up of fragments and weapons to use.
I love Sunset Drive by Future Joust in the background!
My issue with arc hunter melee builds is that the lethal current explosion often kills the enemy and doesn't give you a stack of combination blow
I used this build to clear Whisper when it first came out. It was really good clearing those rooms
You gotta remember that Raiden Flux leaves the damaging field when you dodge then attack in your super.
This build is spicey and looks like you can really just flex any armor exotic with Arc hunter to change up your needs on the go.
I run a similar build but I use the Brigand's Law sidearm with Pugilist/Swashbuckler and the origin trait is perfect for meele builds.
I missed out on so many raids because I was addicting to using Zhalo Supercell with Mask of the Third Man in Prison of Elders 😂
Today I’m addicted to Arc Warlock with Crown of Tempest
I never rusk arc or melee build, but I'm definitely trying this out. Looks so fun!
Curious why you don't run Power Preservation over the Heavy Finder. Most of your kills are from abilities, which dont count toward your finder progress. Running Power Preservation gets your allies even MORE orbs
11:29 maybe a build swap would be safer ? Like building up to the super use assassins cowl, when super is ready swap pop then swap back no ?
I respect trying something new, and I'll give it a go, but I'm going to have Cowl or Liar's on standby in case it just can't hang in Legend Campaign. I see orb generation as a plus in team play more than solo.
You can perform the same build with titan and insurmountable skullfront and thunderclap.
This is my go to for Arc Titan then hot swap to COTFS
And with spark of beacons getting updated for heavy ammo arc weapons, Thunderlord is going to go absolutely nuts with combo/disorienting blow.
This is definitely close to the build I want to make going into Final Shape but I want to make a true Arc Staff with the Tempest Strike Aspect and even with the exotic it's gonna get with Final Shape, I kinda feel like it isn't as good as Titan's Conceration Build.
recuperation (70hp instantly) > better already (starts health regen but can be interrupted from taking dmg)
Hello I’ve got a build for you that I tripped over I was doing a drip for my titan and was turning it into a taken then using taken weapons this build formed so fast
Weapons “until it’s return” with overflow and cascade point
“Targeted reaction” With destabilising rounds and outlaw
Then for boss damage whisper of the worm or deathbringer form ad clear
Subclass void sentinel shield
Aspects Bastion and controlled Demolition
Fragments echo of leeching, echo of instability, echo of domineering and echo of expulsion
Abilities rally barricade, strafe lift, shield throw and suppressor grenade
Exotic armour is heart of inmost light
Mods head x2 harmonic siphon and then hands on
Arms heavy handed and font of focus
Chest charged up, harmonic reserves and harmonic resistance
Legs void surge x2 recuperation
Class item time dilation, powerful attraction and bomber
Spec for ability uses then when all abilities are on cool down unsated hunger trait will kick in on the taken guns have fun just like I did 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
This is such a fun build even without perfect stat armor it has enough sustain it’s a blast easy 50 wave farming
Great video and makes me want to try this but was anyone else distracted by the Aztecross outro music? 😅
It is, idk why he's not using it
Any chance there is a DIM Link for this or did I miss it?
21% delirium being unsunset plus becons adding power weapons could free up your exotic slot and add non super ad clear
Absolute legend going to show my mate this hope you’re doing a lot better today Mac and I have to say the moustache is looking exquisite today ❤
Finally someone who appreciates Raiden’s Flux. I run this with Trinity Ghoul
Another thing you didn't mention is that thunder lord gives huge amounts of super energy when continuously firing at a target
add Blink for more defense (getting out of a bind)
As a hunter main you can just run lucky pants wardens law, buried bloodline/indebted kindness with ghally/any legendary heavy.
Yup. I'm taking this + an Anarchy loadout in with Rigs. Going Oldschool
Why not run hands on instead of the ammo finder? Since you don’t have a primary weapon, it probably won’t have much use, and I think being able to get your super even faster would help more.
have you thought about making a salvations grip build with titan? it destroys the wardens lair
This gives me spire of the stars vibes ⭐️
Id say blink and flashbang grenades are the superior choices with this build
It's great, but i'm so used to staying alive thanks to Liar's Handshake that i'd probably die a lot with this. Could i like drop an arc mod on the legs and slap a regen/better already maybe? Idk how exactly how much dmg a third of those arc mod adds up? With all those orbs you'd be getting healed pretty consistent. After each kill basically.
Edit: i finished watching the video and you slapped the better already, so all good then 😂
I think you get prismatic early in the campaign, and the arc super for hunter is not arc staff. You probably don’t HAVE to use prismatic but raiden flux seems limiting with it.
Love you mac! Thanks for the awesome content!
Aren't they changing combination blow in TFS so it always uses your powered melee charge regardless of whether the enemy dies???
I really thought those lego figs were free standing, I'm like an unexpected sneeze would rock their world lol
whoa what is thi sbuild gonna be, yo ive been hunting an encounter to use the reflection exotic, on maybe an ogre encounter, and i think if you paired it with a phoenix cradle titan where both the titan and hunter on the same sun spot, so the hunters exotic reduces or removes the blocking cost, then the sun spot with sol invictus will remove the passive drain from super...im THINKING that unlimited blocking...and i think the titan can sustain the sunspot
Raiden flux was so key for add clear in OG leviathan hard mode
Spirit of the assassin with this shit on the exotic class armor is going to SMACK
Please try this build with LIAR'S HANDSHAKE. It's the same loop but much stronger because you are killing all for 1 punch
Sucks big time
I thought I'd have a problem without my cowl, even so this was so much fun, I'm still to use my Super 😂, thanks for this gamers build. 👍😎
can't wait to use this build with a different super but having synto on
The Lego Star Wars collection is growing, I like it
This close to how my Liars Handshake Arc build is
Since fashion is the true endgame, i really dislike raiden flux as it is fugly + i cannot transmog the only arms that match with the siva ornament (s19 armor matches fairly well with the right shaders).
Damn people are catching on Ive been rocking this since arc 3.0
Why better already vs recuperation? You make loads of orbs and would get pretty much full heal every kill if you switched that mod
Finally raiden flux getting some love
My build is exactly that but with AC and gathering storm. Run any mods you want, you’ll be better off I promise. Yw
