This was SO real! From the forgotten altos with the most boring harmonies to the one who locked their knees. When I was in choir the director would always put me as an alto when I wanted to sing soprano. I had to basically beg the director to let me sing soprano for my final concert 😂

The soprano thing/the audience thing is so accurate. Honestly though as a soprano I would love to sing harmony in a song. (I believe my choir did one with soprano harmony?) I did a musical once and I got the alto/mid part of the harmony, and I actually really loved it even if it was challenging, and I feel like you learn/get better at music when singing harmonies and learn how they work from that.

That last one is very accurate. At my last chorus concert we had a song that went completely silent at one part and then continued so when the song actually ended the audience just didn't clap for a solid 7 seconds (yes I actually counted)
This was so relatable. As a First Soprano, I can confirm that we get the best parts. Imagine only singing “mmmmm” and “aaahhh” and “oooohhhhh” and random echos.

As an alto, I can confirm that the sopranos always get the best parts. Also, I actually had a kid lock his knees during a choir concert once. He fell face first onto the marble stage and broke his nose.

This is so accurate, omg. The dramatic accompanist, the conductor trying to get their singers to be more engaged in the music, the overdramatic sopranos, the altos hating their part, the one person who doesn't sing, the supportive parents, and lastly, the audience not knowing when the song is over. I was a choir kid for eight years, this was a regular choir concert for me. And yes, I was the loud kid, trying to dominate the others in my section. I was like this in the soprano section, although I did this in the alto section as well. I was also the perfectionist and whenever I messed up, I always felt so embarrassed, but I had to keep going because you know, the show must go on.

I recently had a choir concert and we did Taylor Swift in Concert (a concert medley) for one of our songs. There was a girl who hates Taylor Swift, and she made sure EVERYONE knew it. She complains about EVERYTHING especially the Taylor Swift song! It was SO ANNOYING
as a band kid who isn’t in choir, I can confirm this is basically band

*✨the solo trumpets that correct each other every 2 seconds✨*
*✨ the bass who are annoyed because they play literally nothing✨*
*✨ the one who didn’t bring their instrument but their parents made them come so they’re forced to just sit there doing nothing✨*

*✨ the second trumpets/cornets who annoy the band director by playing too loud✨*

*✨ the bass player who takes about 5 years to hit the right note ✨*

*✨ the one who has hiccups while blowing in their instrument ✨*
*✨ the ones who never remember the key signatures ✨*
*✨ the parents waving at their kids while they’re playing ✨*
*✨ the one who gets poked in the back by a trombone slide ✨*
*✨ the one who plays the other piece of music on the sheet (it’s always the alto saxophones for some reason) ✨*
*✨ the one who’s dreading their louder part because they don’t know the fingerings/valves or can’t blow enough ✨*

*✨ the trumpets/flutes that have to play the same thing for about 2 minutes and barely get to breathe ✨*

2:00 actually in my choir at least we're encouraged to not focus on smiling too much as smiling can sometimes make you quieter and as a choir although you don't want to be too loud, you also don't want to be too quiet.
