It's like that show I used to watch on TV in the fabulous 1980's Beyond 2000 (which I used to watch religiously as a kid) force feeding me with propaganda on how great life will be in the 2000's before and after all while failing to realise that I was already living in the best era ever back then?! Well 45 years later, I beg to differ as I've watched this state destroy itself to what it is now via 2023+....Damn channel 7 and Beyond 2000 here!!!! Great video btw

Ask Premier JK. He was modernizing everything from 1992 onwards.

3:25 Are these conductors talking in their sleep too ? 1992 ! 31 years ago - more than 1 human generation. That was when Melbourne was called "Most Liveable City" for the first time. 6 years after filming MALCOLM, "THE" tram cult movie.
What happened to the W-Class ? Not even used on the City Circle Line.

Conductors were great, could have saved a fortune on that disaster of Myki.

It was the conductors who decided to hold Melbourne to ransom, striking and blocking the streets with trams for weeks on end. They lost all their goodwill in their arrogant belief they could force the taxpayers to accede to their demands. When Jeff Kennett sacked them all the majority of Victorians said "good riddance to a bad lot". And there has not been another tram strike since.

You can take the MyKi home. Try that with a conductor ...
