Had mine for a month now, 2000kms. Gear box was stiff but loosening up. Neutral and 1st can still need a bit of work at times. I'm 50/50 on and off road. Dropped once in sand, bike has a "tip over" switch, which requires ignition to be switched off and on again to reset. Rear brake adjuster is plastic, works but cheap. I knocked the switch wire off under the clutch mount when cleaning. Only noticed when bike wouldn't start. I can cruise at 120kmh but will drop back a gear to overtake. Paint has rubbed off exhaust and plastics from MX boots. Tyres have been great on road and gravel. I have bottomed out forks a few times, jarring my wrists. All in all, it's a very good bike for the money, I just hope it holds up to my aggressive riding for at least 12 months...
I bought this 4 months back..ridden close to 4000 kms... Everything good on this bike except 2 things..the suspension is really very hard (previously i have owned hero xpulse 200 and Himalayan 411), perhaps due to those bike i am feeling it a bit more stiff.. Second thing i really dont like is gear shifting..my bike is brand new but i feel the gear shifting is very very hard and at time it doesn't slot in very smoothly..i am not at all an aggressive rider..i take sufficient time to engage clutch , shift gear n release clutch smoothly..but still i find it very hard n erratic... consulted technician at service centre and i think all of them were incompetent to solve this..waiting for 2nd service to get it done.. Important key features missing Hazard light...and there should be toggle button on the LH switch to navigate through the menu..while riding the bike, it gets dangerous to lean and press select/mode button.. Otherwise its a top bargain bike...i get 39.5 kmpl in city condition.. In india it costed my 2.40 lakhs Indian rupees. I have installed couple of accessories like..a zana crash guard which is fantastic and bandidos pit stop top box which is absolutely rubbish... I m loving this bike..
baught my v strom 250 sx a week ago and have about 430km on it so far. heres my summary pros 1) very light on fuel 2) can go 120km/h no sweat. 3) easy to manuver 4) parts are cheap cons 1) very plasticky 2)suspension really is stiff 3) they used gasket sealer on some parts of the engine instead of proper gaskets. in my experience gasket sealer alone does not last very long wich worries me. side note. when i got my v strom it had an oil leak. luckily it was just the braided pipe going from the engine to the oil cooled radiator. the pipe was not krimped properly. suzuki south africa was very helpfull in fixing this problem for me at no cost. overall a good bike for daily commuting.
Front (basic dampening rod) fork is very harsh. I actually use most of the stroke (ziptie on fork tube), but the rudimentary dampening on fast fork movements is just, rudimentary. The silly megaphone muffler is located too far forward. Standing up, my boots always hit the heat shield (i actually removed it now, much better). Lack of factory center stand is a miss. It is very hard to find quality aftermarket parts for this bike. No YSS fork kit. No skid plate. The factory racks are very crude (not Suzuki manufactured). It is a great bike up to around 90 kmh, the motor gets busy after that.
In India its price is around 240,000 rupees U said its 17800 RM there, which us about 336,387.74 Indian Rupees Basically 100000 rupees more than in india. With 100000 u can buy all the accessories and protection and even riding gear and have more than 50000 rupees left

How is it with a passenger?
