I don't know the validity of this argument, BUT. A few weeks before Christmas I meet a hungry homeless person who asked me for money for food. As I were quite hungry myself I decided to sit down with her for food. I chose some vegan option and I EVEN let HER decide if she wanted to follow suit. Spoiler alert: She didn't. Anyway there we were. A she sounded foreign I tried started the conversation off by asking where she was from. She was Iranian and had been traveling a lot. so I asked about that. It turned out she's a journalist who had fallen on hard times and had been homeless for many years. And this was the point of no return in the conversation. I wish I had kept my mouth shut here. I asked her how come and she explains how her situation was God's way to her faith. Each to there own I guess, but thing is she were balling her eyes out at the same time. There I were out in public and where I made a stranger cry that couldn't stop. I just wanted to get out of that convo asap. Eventually she did stop and asked me why I were vegan. I explained it as well as I could. Then she proceeded to tell me why veganism is immoral and that she would pray to her to guide me away from veganism (OK. Rude.). I'm paraphrasing, but these are HER words. In the beginning Indians and middel eastern people shared some landmasses, but since the Indians worshipped a cow god that made the woman's god super annoyed to the point where Iranians and Indians started fighting. The Iranians eventually got banished from the Indian terriroty. That's why The woman's god told the middle eastern people to slaughter cows and other animals (since all animals are reincarnations of bad people) as a way to provoke the cow god. And to top it all off she ended her monologue with "... and this &¤#%/&% cow god sent 2000 cows to the Netherlands, can you believe the audacity? It's true, you can look it up." I knew then it was high time to exit the conversation, so I did. If that even remotely resembles the the truth I don't know cows or other animals got much of a chance in that region, so thanks for your dedication to the cause, David.
Next time you'll know to get someone like her a vegan meal. And if they don't want it, what's that saying? Beggars can't be choosers. You took pity on her yet she was ungrateful and hostile and rude, telling you she'd pray [to Satan] for you because you cared too much about animals. Meanwhile, she's the one out on the street at your mercy... Perhaps the food she did eat gave her diarrhea afterwards though
Sounds more like a Parsi, may be, more Zoroastrian than Muslim, and that both of you were confused. Zoroastrians fleed TO India to get away from the Arabs/Islam and stopped eating cows there out of respect for Hindus but Zoroastrians, in general, have no dietary restrictions. They have their own cow god whereas the Hindus don't (e.g. Kamadhenu nor Nandi aren't worship as god, they're just mythologies).

Kudos to the guy to admit to the absurdity of animal "sacrifice". These young people seem open-minded and willing to learn. Perhaps too many of us are drifting through life, scarcely stopping to question the things we're told to be "normal". I hope they think it over and become part of the 25% that turns the tide.
Vegetarianism is an ideology that came from atheism, which is to make humans equal to animals. In Islam, humans are the best of creatures, and there are rights for animals, and the method of slaughtering animals for food is in a way that does not cause the animal to suffer.
If the halal way did bot cause sauffering, this would be how humans are put to death when they are convicted and condemned for execution. But in reality, we dont do that because it is inhumane and painful. Stop lying to yourself and start thinking eith your own brains instead of following a fictional book.
Vegan Muslim here, it does not have to be an animal. The animal sacrifice was to replace the barbaric practices of human sacrifice while feeding the poor at the same time. Nowadays, both of these can be carried out more efficiently and ethically without animals and with the Prophet teaching kindness towards all animals, it’s obvious which option we should take. I would love to go on the channel to give the proper Islamic position on these matters as it is very unknown.
We reference the death, the slaughterhouse etc a lot but, to my mind, for most of these poor souls the slaughterhouse isn’t even the worst thing that they suffer.

Well done man! The only thing I stoped using during my outreach is that being vegan means liking animals because a person doesn't have to necessary like animals in order to RESPECT their Natural Rights which they are born with. I don't like some humans that doesn't mean I am going to be violent towards them if they didn't physically attack me, but if they did I would deffend my self. A person doesn't have to like children but it doesn't justify being and child abuser. Liking is a prefference and I have the and impresson that people I know think of me like it's "my prefference" to be vegan rather than understanding that it's a moral imperative in order to respect the Rights of other sentient beings. Animals don't have to be our friends eather or be loved(eros love). You probably understand all of this, but I just wanted to remind those who maybe get cought up with the liking animals part in order to win over the nonvegans, because what happens when an animal is mean or violent towards them, do they stop liking animals and reconsider being vegan?Of course that woulden't make sense like in the human context. :)
Well done, David! About time we turn the tables and start asking people why they aren't vegan! It's they who should justify inflicting suffering upon others!
I have some basic knowledge in Islamic jurisprudence, read quite a bit on topic. Although I do not assert myself as an expert or a scholar, and I am susceptible to errors. According to my comprehension, in Islam, it is deemed highly serious and deviant to declare something permissible (halal) that is actually forbidden (haram), or vice versa. Whether you agree or disagree, this is fundamental knowledge within the Muslim community.
Such nice young people, they had their own opinion, but after being given the reality of animal agriculture they listened and slowly took it on board, and in many ways that's what separates those who might become vegan and those who won't, it's the ones with true empathy (and dare I say the intelligence) that take new information onboard and act on it, the rest may as well still be in those caves you talked about 😏
Keep spreading the good and positive message ❤about being vegan brother and sorry I was upset ❤ I just commented without even completing the video so it’s completely my fault

Hi there, I would love to become vegan but I have a question which I've not quite got my head around. What would be the distinction between killing an animal and killing a plant? What makes it appropriate to kill a plant but not to kill an animal?
Plants are not sentient. Doesn't have brain, pain receptors and nervous system. So, caring about plants feelings and suffering would be the same as caring about a rocks suffering when I kick it. Even if you believe that plants are sentient, animals are fed plants and to have 1 calorie of beef you have to feed 26 calories of plants. To have 1 calorie of chicken, 4 calories of plants (mostly corn). So, even if you believe plants are sentient and care about plants being killed, you are killing more plants eating animals
1. Plants dont have a brain therefore cannot be sentient. 2. Even if they were what about the hundreds of billions of farm animals that eat most of those crops per year?
It's an irrelevant question because almost vegan food doesn't actually require you to kill plants, e.g. trees don't die when you pick fruit or nuts; grains, bean & seed plants have already died naturally before they are harvested. So, yes, if you are concerned about killing plants, then vegan is the way to go.

Actually I am vegan Muslim, and yes you can replacing the sacrifice with money because it's "Sunnah" not "Fardh" so it's not essential duty to Muslims, but most Muslims don't know that.

Is that True ?
@@hindurashtra63 Yes, he was eat two meals in the day one of them is a dates, and other meal is depends on what is available. he loves meat but the most types of food he loves the legumes, cucumber and pumpkin. Most of the meat he was eat is a gift from others because he lives as a poor.
@@Aymen7MAwow that's really interesting thanks for sharing ❤❤❤

Someone came up to me and said they had read Ed's book. I told them to foxtrot oscar, end of argument, he lost, the title is a lie
"Qurbani" can be done by donating wealth to food packages, not needing to include, or sacrifice the flesh of another animal.
It's true, you can look it up."
I knew then it was high time to exit the conversation, so I did.
If that even remotely resembles the the truth I don't know cows or other animals got much of a chance in that region, so thanks for your dedication to the cause, David.
"meat eaters won't tell you to eat meat" lel heard that so often

Your conservation is just giving me more and more ideas to debate with my friends❤
They won't be your friends for long.

Thanks a lot. I love that question: "why not become a VEGAN right NOW". God bless!
Bit by bit change is doable and can become HUGE
Vegan Muslim here, it does not have to be an animal. The animal sacrifice was to replace the barbaric practices of human sacrifice while feeding the poor at the same time. Nowadays, both of these can be carried out more efficiently and ethically without animals and with the Prophet teaching kindness towards all animals, it’s obvious which option we should take. I would love to go on the channel to give the proper Islamic position on these matters as it is very unknown.
We reference the death, the slaughterhouse etc a lot but, to my mind, for most of these poor souls the slaughterhouse isn’t even the worst thing that they suffer.
btw, good outreach. No BS and straight to the point.

“Has to be animal or uhhh big twin buildings “
Well done, David! About time we turn the tables and start asking people why they aren't vegan! It's they who should justify inflicting suffering upon others!
I have some basic knowledge in Islamic jurisprudence, read quite a bit on topic. Although I do not assert myself as an expert or a scholar, and I am susceptible to errors. According to my comprehension, in Islam, it is deemed highly serious and deviant to declare something permissible (halal) that is actually forbidden (haram), or vice versa. Whether you agree or disagree, this is fundamental knowledge within the Muslim community.

Such nice young people, they had their own opinion, but after being given the reality of animal agriculture they listened and slowly took it on board, and in many ways that's what separates those who might become vegan and those who won't, it's the ones with true empathy (and dare I say the intelligence) that take new information onboard and act on it, the rest may as well still be in those caves you talked about 😏
Changes are taking place in schools and Universities
You should confront a Muslim scholar 🗿🗿🗿
Keep spreading the good and positive message ❤about being vegan brother and sorry I was upset ❤ I just commented without even completing the video so it’s completely my fault

Can’t get iron from plants. Only from meat!
Of course, you can get iron from plants. And it's actually better for your health. Look it up.

Religion is not like issues whose owners feel that they are a matter of life or death, such as vegetarianism. Religion is an essential thing in the heart, and therefore such issues have no value and are not considered a criterion for judging religion. When you believe fundamentally in your relationship with God, then God is the one who judges. And when you believe By God and His creation of human beings, and the fact that your need for Him in this world follows Him, regardless of the thoughts and opinions of humans, so for you, vegetarians, any strong and confident Muslim will not be weak and make your desires a judgment on his religion, and as long as God allows us to eat animals, there is no value for any word in the face of that, and when it comes On Eid, we will slaughter sheep and eat their meat, because your case is a very simple matter that does not even deserve to be looked at, even if we are not forced to eat meat in our religion. Simply put, what I want to say to you, no matter how harsh it is, is that your case is nothing in the face of a perfect religion, as well as any other cases that have been judged. God indeed.

13:26 I actually disagree this point. The people should be like the most fuck the system are older than them. I'm 36 and I know on instinct level this system fucking me. You can rationalize capitalism and neo-liberalism and all but true realization comes when you experience it. These guys are not that. Not really, not yet.
Seriously? Plants are not sentient beings, they don't have any awareness.
Mate, your trolling is so subtle it's almost unnoticeable.
