My children opened their stockings from Father Christmas containing sweets and small gifts like colouring books, crayons in my bedroom on Christmas morning, then after breakfast they sat round and pulled out the presents from under the tree and had a few piles each to open. I didn't spend much as I was a single working Mom of 4 but they always got what they wanted xx
It’s so interesting to hear how everyone does their Christmas traditions so differently. Our Christmas was always very low key but I definitely think it’s true that it’s the believing and the childlike innocence that make Christmas magical. We had everything in our ‘stockings’ which was actually just a big fabric Christmas bag. Santa would drop it by our beds in the night and in the morning you’d wake up and it was there! We never had to wait for anyone else to get up (meant no harassing our parents early in the morning) and I used to go into my brothers room and we would drag the sacks into one of our rooms and open them together. Sometimes if there was a big prezzie that didn’t fit (e.g. train set etc) it would be set up for us on Xmas morning in the lounge. Nothing was wrapped… it was just like lucky dip into the bag! Amazing fun and such amazing memories 😍 If family came over for Xmas later in the day they would bring wrapped prezzies so we would do those with everyone after lunch time but tbh I preferred the Santa bag above! ❤️ xxx
We used to buy our children Something you want,Something you need,Something to wear and Something to read.As they attended a school taught in the medium of welsh they say Sion Corn.- Santa Claus. 🤶 They opened one at a time in turn.
I don’t for a minute think saying Father Christmas is silly….I grew up with my English Mum saying Father Christmas every year….I think your traditions are lovely Laurien …Bless❤
I don't stick to a budget as such...but I do buy the same number of gifts each...my children are 21 and 20 now and then still do a quivk recce to make sure they have the same number in the pile 😂 All the gifts were from Santa...they're only little for a few years and it's so magical...they find out soon enough who actually bought the presents. They open the presents one by one and even though they're young adults now santa still leaves their presents for them to find on Christmas morning
I always say Father Christmas, I've been saying it to our granddaughter, "father Christmas is coming soon" lol. How does Comos feel now he's older, does he go along with it for the other kids or does he still think father Christmas comes, my son was about Cosmos age when he grew out of it, 😢 Me & my hubby just buy something what we want or need, sometimes we've agreed not to buy anything & we're fine with that too. We're going to my son's for Christmas dinner, I'm so looking forward to that, we went last year too it's was delicious and so nice to have a break from cooking lol. my hubby & I have been together 39 years & never ate out at a restaurant for Christmas, I'm old fashioned I like it at home or with family 😊
My children always opened one present at a time and watched each other. We didn't do the whole lot for each child, but they would all be under the tree and 1 pulled out for each child. It did take a while but I can imagine it must be hard for the child/children that had already opened all their presents to continue to pay attention to the others opening theirs if they each open all their presents in turn. But, I have watched your previous Christmas videos and it does work! Our Christmas stocking were from Santa and one presents was from Santa, but the rest we said Santa magicked them away from family members houses and delivered them to our house on Christmas night. It seemed to add to the magic and they were always so happy at Christmas. Everyone finds their own way to do things which is fine. I know a family that decided they were going to tell their daughter right from the start that Santa is not real and is symbolic because they didn't want Santa to get the credit for the money they and family members had spent. I dread to think what will happen at school with a child telling the other children Santa is not real. So sad and she will be missing out on so much of the magic. It isn't even for any religious reason either.
We don’t do Father Christmas at all my children always knew that’s just a tale and we celebrate Jesus birthday ( even historically we know he wasn’t born that exact day ) it’s just a day the church one day set to have a day to celebrate. We open presents on Christmas Eve as German tradition and go to church . My teenager have more budget than the little ones .
Hi Laurien, it's great when shopping for kids when they're smaller. So spend as little as you can while you can get away with it. I have 3 older teens and it's super expensive! I'm just wondering can you tell me the name of your friend that does RUclips that you mention. I can't see the link below the video. Thanks! ❤
