      Can still remember 2 girls in primary school (I was 6 or so, but the tingles were there) that always wanted to play hairdresser and would take their ideas out on my hair. I never had a problem with that. Didn't like it that the teacher said they should stop playing with my hair and pay attention to whatever story being told.

    i literally don't know what i would have done if i hadn't discovered asmr. i had such bad insomnia and anxiety that i wouldn't sleep for days at a time and the only time i could sleep was when i literally collapsed from exhaustion. asmr didn't cure this insomnia, but for years now i've actually been getting a couple hours of sleep a night, sometimes even sleeping the whole night!!! without waking up!!!! that is so big for me and i'm so glad i had an open mind going into this community. peace and love! ❤️

    This is my all time favorite ASMR experience. I have difficulty turning my mind off at night. I am a nurse, a mom and a wife. I spend most of my day caring for others, trying to ease pain, trying to explain how bad things happen to good people. I’ve used ASMR techniques my whole career even though, until a year ago, I didn’t know ASMR was a real ‘thing’. I just knew as a child how safe, cherished and comforted I felt when my mom played with my hair. This video helps me recapture that experience when I put my sleep phones on, crawl into bed and start this video. I am no longer the caregiver. Thank you Maria.

    Maria I have been watching your videos for awhile. I just wanted to let you know what happened to me last night. Occasionally I suffer from RLS, or Restless Legs Syndrome. It is believed to stem from a lack of dopamine. When a cycle starts, my brain will literally fire off signals every time that I fall asleep to wake me right back up. The main tell tell sign is that upon the reawakening, the legs will “jerk” and I will become awaken again. It could do this 15 times or more, lasting up to an hour, before my brain finally “lets go” and allows me to relax and sleep. It can be miserable. Last night it began and after 2 cycles, I thought to watch ASMR. My theory is that the endorphins produced from the tingles would be just what I needed to calm the brain signals down and I was exactly right. When I put this video on, I immediately felt 2 tingles rush through me and fell right to sleep, completely bypassing the RLS cycle. Thank you so much! Just one more reason why I absolutely love your videos.

    • @jchang76
      @jchang76 6 лет назад +17

      Brandy Fornea I suffer from that! IT IS, LITERALLY, ONE OF THE MOST TORTUROUS, AWFUL THINGS I CAN THINK OF HAVING TO GO THROUGH! I WOULDN'T WISH IT ON MY WORST ENEMY! No one, no matter what they say, can truly understand how awful it is and what torture it is unless they have had it. I try to explain to people that I'd PREFER, ANY DAY, to have cysts bursting on my ovaries -which I HAVE had, and which hurts, LIKE HELL - over having to suffer an hour of restless leg syndrome ! I feel for ya! My mom has it, too, and says theres now a medication that works. I dont know the name, because, THANK GOD, I havent experienced it in a few years, but you should ask your doctor for it. If /when mine comes back, I definitely will; my mom says it works.

      I also suffer from RLS. It sounds so silly until your someone who deals with it when you're actually trying to relax/sleep. ASMR also saved me from it a *lot.*
      Another tip, which you probably already do, is to bounce your leg. (Like we do when sitting?) Eventually it exhausts your legs a bit. My loved ones call it "rocking myself to sleep," lmao.

    • @jgr_lilli_
      @jgr_lilli_ 5 лет назад +6

      @@sodapop98 My mom has had RLS too when she was very stressed. I fortunately only have from very light form so rocking my feet and legs always does the trick. Another thing that I found helping is tighly wrapping the legs in a thin blanket (like swaddling a baby). Maybe that's also an option for y'all.

It has two eyes, a nose and a mouth. Guess who I am?' And they had to tap your back and trace the eyes and the nose and the mouth of the 'moon' and you had to guess which classmate was sitting behind you. Gave me so much tingles back then!

      Ok I just need to say this: we need more sweet people in the RUclips community. How most people treat each other in the ASMR community is usually pretty good, but not always. (Its been a rough day sorry if this was random I just felt the need to say congrats on being a decent human being with common sense to be kind to one another) but yeah yay you! 🎉😁❤️

      +Amber: Correct me if I'm wrong, Amber, since you know your dad better than I do, but from your comment, I'd be willing to bet he's the tiniest bit paranoid about people gossiping about him...or on another strange note, he might experience an odd sort of misophonia -- a strong, visceral, unpleasant auditory experience -- when someone whispers.
      If he's never said why, I'd call him on his irrational bullshit. Politely, of course. But why should he get mad at you listening to someone who whispers for ASMR purposes? OTOH, why does he have to know what you're listening to anyway? That's the ultimate question, isn't it? ;-)

      SadGirl ASMR I agree! Sometimes some asmrists get so caught up in the green screen role play that they forget to do very many asmr triggers! Not that I don't love a good high production video but these simple ones are the most relaxing😍

    • @Lucysmith948
      @Lucysmith948 6 лет назад +2

      songbird377 I was just thinking this exact thought 💭 Took the words right out my mouth. A lot of ASMR videos have from none to hardly any triggers at all. As much as I appreciate the acting, effort and time put into recording and editing role-plays, the basic triggers are what brought and kept me to ASMR. 💖

    The one thing we can count on...simple tingles. I love high production stuff from some of my faves, but Maria and Emma (mainly for me) always bring it back to basics. Feeling good, just to take it easy, and relax. Not too much to focus on, just a good mic, some “gentle whispers”, and a good nights sleep... or day nap as I’ve been likely to do lmaoo

    First time I saw ASMR I was like... what da...?🤔
    Then, one day at my former job. I used to work in an office with big table, and sometimes people unpacked things and sorted stuff on it.
    Started to get weird tingles and enjoy the sounds.. each time waiting for someone to come work on my table.
    On my way home, on the train, heard a video and almost slept through my station..
    That’s how I began to listen more to ASMR and literally fell in love. 💕
    Now, I am addicted. 🤤

    Your videos have helped me get through the past year immensely. I sadly fell witness to the attack in Manchester, UK and have been suffering with PTSD and depression ever since, these videos have been a way for me to get to sleep without suffering a night terror, a way for me to forget the inner demons. I just want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping me as much as you have, it means the world to me, the fact that I can sleep without being scared of what my dreams are going to form into is a miracle, the fact that I can find a sense of relaxation and a hideaway from the anxiety and trauma honestly makes me emotional... Thank you again 100 times over! xo

      Your channel looks cool and I see you already forked up the cash to pay for the mic. With less than 1k subs, I'm 778th I think lol.

    I would love to see a full video of the scalp exam portion. Like diagnosing scalp and hair issues for a consultation with a stylist who recommends products and then washes or treats the hair?

    Had dental surgery last Thursday, several bone grafts, today I can barely see out of my right eye, right side swollen, but coming back to this is still one of the most comforting ASMR videos for me yet. I forget the pain and can drift off. Thank you so much.

    Velcro! Wow, that is good. I also LOVED the rain and wind. In middle school, girls would always do this pretend egg crack with the yolk running down your head. (Anyone else remember this?) That’s one of my earliest tingle memories!
