I want to point out something -
    1. In 2021 , Paine was the skipper who i think is the worst to captain any test side anywhere in the world ; But This time in 2024 it's Cummins .
    2. Australia used to carry atleast 4 mediocre batters that time - Burns , Wade , Paine & Head ( Before 21 Ashes 😅) , but this time with Khawaja , Head & Carey it won't be the same .
    3. The pitches have changed drastically ! The amount bounce MCG is showing these days are nowhere near to what we saw last time in 2021 ! West Test , Gabba , Adelaide (D/N) & MCG - all favours the hostile pace trio of Australia 🦘 ! And with Lyon they will possess immense challenge .
    4. The END of Rohit, Virat , Ashwin & Jadeja is near ! We saw what happened to legends like Sachin , Dravid , Laxman and co in 2011 Series ! So it won't be a cakewalk for these guys

Well India had a make shift XI in the last series, almost all the key players were injured barring rahane, pant etc and many debutants
Thing about Indian team is whenever they are pushed they do find a way to create result. So you never know the probability. When expectations are less teams tend to out perform.

India is producing ordinary cricketer's in hundred but what the need of the hour is 11 excellent cricketer with top class temperament, patience to wear the fast bowlers down and top class footwork against spinners. The greatest problem today with Indian cricket is the entire focus of the younger generation is on T20 cricket as there is lots of money to be earned through franchise cricket. There is no incentive in terms of money to play the longer version of the game. The ultimate result is you produce test cricketer's with the mindset of T20 cricket.

    Anything can happen
    But I wish it's a closer contest
Just because we lost to NZ at home, doesn't make us a weak test side
NZ capitalized on our weakness, which is "attack as an alternative to poor defense". If we can course correct this, play more technically proper cricket(expect for Pant), bring in Vihari instead of Sarfaraz(i seriously don't think he is technically sound), Bumrah to work out a plan against Head's off stump weakness, and Ashwin to figure out Smith's weakness and getting him out, then we will on the winning end of the deal

chup be gawar. Players like virat, williamson are hyped because of their performance over the years. Even team like pakistan has won world cup and test series in SENA. So sometimes you may have fluke wins. But thats not gonna happen everytime. Talking about Virat kohli, then he has a great role in transforming the mindset of this test team, specially in overseas. Wins we saw in 2021 were the result of close defeats in 2018 in england, south africa. There is a reason why pat cummins chose 2018 BGT series defeat as more frustrating than 2021 BGT defeat. Because virat kohli played with the minds of Australians in that series.

Problem with Rohit and Virat is that they are struggling against the spin. They should play more and more domestic matches in India. I am not worried about their performance in Australia. I am worried about their performances on turning track. Only problem they might face in Australia is the amount of pressure they have after embarrassing defeat at home while not performing at all. Also, Rohit has another problem which is throwing away his wicket. This is not ODI or T20 anymore. He should play according to the test match which requires patience, focus and right technique. He got the technique but not the patience and focus. On the other hand Virat got patience and focus but struggling with the technique against the spin. It's like he forgot, how to play on backfoot. I think it has to do with the fact that he's feeling the pressure and he can not trust his own hand and eye coordination or timing. So he tries to reach for the ball on front foot every single time which ends up taking the edge or lbw. In last two years, Kohli seems to lack the confidence he used to have before. That is really concerning. He must perform in this series, otherwise that pressure will keep on increasing even more & more which will affect his performance even more.

Looking at those dismissals, I'd be more worried about Rohit than Kohli. All Rohit's outs were to quicks, bowling bouncing or nipping balls, something he WILL face here. Kohli's were either spinning balls or brain fades, which he could recover from in Aus conditions (though he is very much a confidence player so we'll see). India fight hard in Aus though so no way I'm writing them off before the start!
I think Warner has his finger on the pulse of selectors with McSweeney. I can see Vaughan's point but unless Inglis plays as keeper he doesnt make it in.

From india, I lost all the hope . India was playing incredible well . India had easy chance to qualify for finals. India was consistent throughout this cycle. So many up and down, virat left captaincy rohit handled the situation beating eng 4-1 but after winning wt20 final india lost that spark. The hunger ended which isn't good. Key players don't perform. Always someone has to come forward and win that for us. But against nz no one succeed. India got overwhelmed with defeat that they lost all 3 which can be easily bring us two wins.

  • @JubaidRahman

India will find it harder to win the series this time. In past 2-3 years, they sidelined their experienced bowlers like Ishant, Umesh and their best possible test all rounder Shardul just because their board thinks they are too old. Australia has been playing with pretty much the same bowling line up in tests for years with not many changes, which makes them very experienced and backed. Shami is out injured. Only Bumrah and Siraj are the experienced ones. Akash Deep is a good promising bowler but how the heck do Harshit Rana and Nitish made it to the test squad when their first class record isnt that impeccable. Even Prasidh Krishna wasn't that great in last SA tour.
As far as batters are concerned, India dont have stable strong defense batters like Rahane and Pujara who wore down the Australia bowling.
India's inexperienced bowling could land up leaking 300-400 runs if they don't bowl well and if Indian batters don't do well techncally, they are sure to be blown away. Best wishes to India.

Doesn't leave the ball well, plays with hard hands, away from the body....this time they'll draw him forward and exploit that. We need technically good players to survive in these conditions. Jurel is one such player...Sai is another. But sadly none of these will play.

    • @docyash
      @docyash 20 дней назад

@@ArnavMishra-e8o dunno about others but here's what I feel.....When it came to Rahane, sure he was not performing at all, very low in confidence. In the last WTC final,he was our best batter, played exceptionally well. Based on that comeback he deserved to play atleast the SA tour. But he was dropped after the WI tour. That for me was unfair. Could have taken a call on him after the SA series.
Pujara also I feel was prematurely dropped. He was 50/50 form wise. Not saying that bringing both these will solve the problem,it's just that it was not the right move when they were dropped. That age criteria is just non-sense. If someone is performing why let age be a limiting factor. Youngsters can be groomed around the seniors.
For me,I don't see numbers. It's about a players' approach, technique, temperament, range, game awareness, etc. Numbers are a byproduct of this but should never be the primary mode of selection. It's very subjective!
The last BGT,it was obvious that Shaw was a walking wkt...yet we persisted and we saw what happened. Sarfaraz, even before he debuted vs ENG,I wasn't sure of his defense game again pace. He's already proved that in his short stay so far. The Bengaluru test,1st innings, that dismissal was nothing but his inability to play seam and swing. Forget the 1st innings, the 2nd innings after he made 150....the moment Southee & Henry got the new ball, the way they made him dance...it was embarrassing. People hailed him but that 150 meant nothing coz it highlighted his weakness big time & pretty much summed up the fact that he's gonna be a walking wkt in SENA!..he can only contribute on good subcontinent surfaces at the most. He's not your long term solution!.
Jurel who single handedly won us the Ranchi test showed the technique & temperament he's got. He should be playing ahead of Sarfaraz. He'll be better suited for SENA. Sai is another such talent who's got the ingredients to do well. Failure is part and parcel of the game, but these r the guys who r better equipped to succeed in the long term.
If we pick the right guys,we'll always have more success than failures.
Another example of false sense of security was Ishan Kishan. I saw that match where he made 200. The moment that happened I was like "we r fucked"!...He's a player filled with limitations and then to see him as our keeper against AUS A hurts me.

I've never seen India and their big guns struggle this much at the international level, that too at home. I did know that there'll be one day when India loses a series at home but expected it more to be at the phase where most of their big players retire, unfortunately it had to be much earlier, and that too in the most one-sided fashion possible. And indeed, it had to be someone from the SENA countries.
But we have to accept the fact that they're India after all, they normally just wouldn't let themselves down for quite long, and once they've fallen down so badly, I guess there's a huge comeback on cards for us. At least after considering the distraught that they might be facing after losing a home series.
The series against Australia is a mouth-watering one for the whole world of cricket, let's hope an epic comeback from India and an equally potent reply from Australia!

You got to agree with Vaughn...I think the series down under could be the final nail on the coffin for both senior Indian batters. The Australians won't allow you to get away, and the mentality would be weak this time as they have been whitewashed at home. There would be banter and cocky voices reminding the Indians, the body language of both of them doesn't show any confidence. I would be pleasantly surprised if they get any runs.

Australia are handling this opening situation all wrong. Just select who you think is the best opener,, if they don't work you try the next one. All this talk of moving Head and Marsh who are settled is absolutely ridiculous.

Screenshot this comment: It’s going to be a hard fought series and Australia will be made to work real hard for their wins. It’s going to be 3-2 in favour of Australia or a 2-2 draw.
Yashasvi, Bumrah, Pant and Rohit would be the players to watch out for.

Have been keen follower of the game for 5 decades. Indians have been helped immensely by rishabh pant, jadeja, Ashwin, Sundar, axar, shardul, etal in recent times to prop up failed top order .. Australia was a case in point..
Rohit has survived by being aggressive.. Virat has lost the magic.. both are clearly over the hill..
Rahul has under performed consistently.. even gill doesn't seem technically good to handle spin.. both may still do well in Australia..
Overall though overhaul of the team is overdue ..

Indian broadcasters should learn from australian broadcasters. They make it painful by wasting hours asking foreign players about kohlis fitness cover drive, dhonis captaincy and rohits pull shot. So annoying. They try to make everything about india and it's embarassing to watch

Indian broadcast for cricket games looks like it has fog/smoke on screen, but games in australia look so good. Even though I am watching in in phone it feels like its 8k hologram and I am watching cricket right at the stadium. Picture quality and probably air quality in Australia are probably much more crisp.
Unfortunately being born in India a curse coz our lungs will have to inhale this pollution right from our birth.

After watching recently concluded new zealand series and Rohit & Virat's lack of seriousness towards cricket ...i think india will loose the series . Few players is playing on Lejhand quota and are walking wicket , they treat indian team as their "Baap ki property" they spend their time in foreign land and lands in playing X11 without performing and preparing.

Kohli and Sharma just need to occupy the crease ... but their major problem is not themselves unfortunately. It's the three paceman in career best form that they need to overcome and dominate. Personally I can't see them doing that, Josh Pat and Mitch are going to be very hard to stop.
