BigHit has some absolutely outstandingly amazing producers that don't get all the credit they should get, because they too, are so involved in just about every song BTS creates as well! Even CEO Mr. Bang Si Hyuk becomes Hitman Bang again, as hands on as he is, and gets involved! But for Friends, I believe, like for some other songs on this album, they even had the help from in the US engineer & musicians, from LA, doing some of the actual music, as well as background chorus. There was so much involved in making this whole album. So many pieces coming together!!
FUN FACTS: Jimin gave that dreamcatcher necklace for Tae to wear to guard off nightmares that he was having! The dumpling story was way back years ago one time during dance practice there was an issue that came up of being rewarded with dumplings. Carefree Tae wanted to eat them right away, but quite disciplined Jimin when concerning dance practice, wanted to eat them after they finished dance practice, which for him was the priority!! Haha!! Jimin wrote the lyrics & composition of this song, & also helped produce it!!!

Behind the scenes info- Tae and Jimin had different schedules so they recorded separately. They had a blank section on the track where the lyrics were still being decided. So they ended up using that empty section to leave each other sweet notes and words of encouragement to listen to when they next came in to record. They ended up keeping one of these messages in the song- it’s where Tae says ‘Hey Jimin, today *pop*’. That pop sound represents popping a champagne bottle/clinking glasses, so he was basically saying hey Jimin, let’s go drinking/celebrate ;_;.

Behind the scenes info- Tae and Jimin had different schedules so they recorded separately. They had a blank section on the track where the lyrics were still being decided. So they ended up using that empty section to leave each other sweet notes and words of encouragement to listen to when they next came in to record. They ended up keeping one of these messages in the song- it’s where Tae says ‘Hey Jimin, today *pop*’. That pop sound represents popping a champagne bottle/clinking glasses, so he was basically saying hey Jimin, let’s go drinking/celebrate ;_;.
