Akishino-dera Temple is an old temple that was built at the end of the Nara period (710-794).
The main hall was built as a lecture hall when it was first constructed. However, after the Kondo was destroyed by fire, it was extensively repaired in the Kamakura period (1185-1333) and has been called the main hall ever since.
In effect, it should be considered as a Kamakura-period building, but in terms of style, the traditions of Nara-period architecture have been utilized.
