chin up, Luke. A true gentleman does not cry when he remembers his past. A true gentleman looks back and smiles, for both the good memories and the bad ones have shaped who he is today.
@@DN-xi6ge Oh gosh, where do I even begin? Let's go with the characters: Katrielle is an egocentric, narcissistic, unsufferable brat, Ernest's only character trait is being a simp, the other characters are so useless and underveloped that I don't even remember their names, dog included (tbh I had to look up even Ernest's). The story: the main plot, aka investigating the disappearance of Professor Layton and the dog's past, is forgotten and thrown out of the window the moment the opening cutscene ends and is barely ever mentioned after that; I didn't like the episodic formula, with the story being divided into a bunch of minor cases instead of a single, overarching mystery; Katrielle also gives the impression, rather than being a brilliant detective, of always pulling her deductions out her... hat. *SPOILER ALERT* The finaly plot twist also came completely out of nowhere, really: there was nothing, up until the great revelation, that might have pointed out that Ernest's past had anything to do with the Seven Dragons and had any resentment towards them, which is the only other pinch of character development he gets other than simping Katrielle and still manages to feel completely forced. *END OF SPOILER* The puzzles too felt pretty uninspired compared to past games and, having played the italian version of the game, I can say the translation is also terrible because I remember being forced to look for solutions online because the text of a few puzzles had been mistranslated, which made those puzzles unsolvable without help. If this was any other game, I would've dismissed it as a completely forgettable experience, a game that's not good but not THAT bad either. But since this was the game that I guess was supposed to be the beginning of a new era of Professor Layton you could say that, after playing through it and realizing how mediocre it is, "my disappointment was immesurable and my day was ruined".
@@popoya2297 But we still go a layton switch game, a bunch of new puzzles and a new story with good music. This game wasn't too difficult so I could just play it and vibe while searching and solving puzzles. It indeed was mediocre but I still enjoyed the experience. I think most fans just got used to expecting perfection from the other titles in this serie
But some puzzles are so easy, and have so many repeats that it makes me think: 'man, Akira Tago turns around in his grave right now. That' s how bad this is, I had finished the game in less than 5 months, the older layton games took me much longer, because there was actually some challenge to it, you had to solve as much puzzles as you could, because before you knew it, there would be a puzzle check to see if you had solved a certain amount to progress in the story, layton's mystery journey had only 1 puzzle check and you know where that one was, at the very end of the game, at a certain point I just stopped solving the puzzles if I could, because it was just not fun anymore, I am not judging to the fans personally, but I didn't really enjoy it.
Thanks a lot, I'm always happy when I read comments like yours ! :D I see that you are doing Layton playlists... You should give a look at the AKR and DearestHershel YT channels, they are amazing !

Who's here after the Nintendo Direct? I'M SO EXCITED FOR LAYTON'S RETURN!
How did I only just now notice Flora sitting on the right rooftop, after listening to this medley for at least 10 times?
A true gentleman leaves no Layton content unwatched
