    I have this exact size coop in the coastal blue trimmed in white. I absolutely love it. I highly recommend this coop to anyone. It is super sturdy. It's easy to clean and retrieve eggs from. My ten chickens fit comfortably, with plenty room to spare. Don't buy these cheap fabricated coops that fall apart in no time. This coop is designed perfectly.

    Thanks for this review and actually showing the real chickens inside of it....for size reference. Thanks for reviewing the chicken crate/run too! Your review so very relatable. Thank you

    I have the same coop in red. I put hardware cloth over the windows so I can keep them open and protected. The screens that come with them are not strong enough to keep animals out.

    It’s been a year. Do you still love it? Looking at the bigger one with the 3 windows for our 19 chickens. Did it stay decent over the winter? We’re in Indiana and this past winter was brutal.

      Thanks! I used outdoor paint on the inside and outside. I put I coat on the inside because I wanted to add another moisture resistant layer. My coop is in the woods so it's pretty dark in the summer with the leaves so the white on the inside bounces the light around so I can see a little better lol.

    We ordered the same coop. I would like to know is there a specific paint you used to paint the inside of the coop.

    • @LilPinkPoodle7
      @LilPinkPoodle7  Год назад

      I used exterior paint, I knew it would be tougher than keeping it bare. The white bounces light pretty well.

    How many hens do you have? This is the size we’re planning to get this spring - with the idea of placing it inside a 10x20 kennel/run. Next season, we’ll invest in a shed and move and use this coop for a quarantine coop. Thanks for the walk around - it really is roomier than I thought!

    • @LilPinkPoodle7
      @LilPinkPoodle7  2 года назад +1

      I have 16 But a few hen's choose to use the old small coop. You can fit 8 or 9 on the top roosting bar. Some of my girls are big and they cram in there. The bottom bar is empty. I have a couple hens that choose the nesting box. There is a lot of room for more chickens for sure

    • @karenlombardi8242

      That’s good to consider the size of the birds. I’m a newbie, so I’ll start with 10 and try not to overwhelm as I learn. Thanks again!

      @@karenlombardi8242 I counted last night. I had 10 across the top roost and 1 on the 2nd roost. 1 silkie slept in the nesting box and the other 3 slept in the old Coop.

      I have this coop in red. I have 12 chickens but they are young and I have NO experience. The coop says UP TO 15 but everybody says they are all overrated, some more so than others. I agree that this coop is well made!

    We bought the same run but my husband is struggling to connect the 2 at the top there’s a decent gap. Do you have any suggestions?

    • @LilPinkPoodle7
      @LilPinkPoodle7  Год назад

      So what I did was I bought a black hardware wire mesh roll and I spread it all across the top gap and zip-tied it to each side. I currently have a clear plastic tarp on over half of the run to shield them from rain. That also covers part of the Gap/mesh middle section.

    Does it come with a base? If so what is the height? I am a taller guy and will want it a bit higher to save my back when cleaning.😂

    • @LilPinkPoodle7
      @LilPinkPoodle7  2 года назад

      It does come with a base. But to get inside and clean it you will certainly have to bend over. I think the best way to clean it is to stick a tall wide broom inside and pull the shavings out.

    • @johntalley797

      @@LilPinkPoodle7 Thanks! If I bought this, do you think it would be doable to build my own larger base with the coop sitting on it? Thanks for the video!

    • @LilPinkPoodle7
      @LilPinkPoodle7  2 года назад +1

      That's not a bad Idea. The base is solid wood so it would work nicely on top of another base. It will just make you coop door a little higher. It's easy to make a longer ramp for the chickens. The coop is really nice. Better than anything I could build. My chickens love it.

      The chicken coop inside of my run was made by someone that does it on their own. That coop lasted me 2 years. I sure thought that was a bargain deal. I actually searched all around my area for coops 4'x5' with metal roof and 2 large windows. 1. They were charging a lot of money for the foot print. 2. Many did not include windows or the nesting box style I was looking for.
